Rex’s POV.
I woke the next morning as I felt the whole excitement that was still building up in my body. I couldn’t wait to be close to Elena. I felt this was where things got to go well with us and eventually, being able to convince her to return back to the pack with our kids.
“Hello, good morning, Rex!” Clark greeted the moment he walked inside my room. “So what are your plans for today? You know you now have a responsibility here as well and you have to be there every day as well because there is a lot to get done.” He said as he opened the curtains, letting the sun pierce into the room.
I yawned, stretched my body as I got up from the bed and rushed into the bathroom to brush my teeth and then I showered next and got all dressed up.
“Huh? Done already? How come you are this fast?” Clark gasped in shock as he looked at me. “Just a few minutes ago, I walked in there, opened the curtains and watched you go in to brush your teeth and now, you are fully dressed. Surprising, you know!?” He said with a grin as he raised his left eyebrows.
I knew exactly what he was about to do. “Can you not start now, please?” I rolled my eyes as I looked at him.
“What was I about to do?” He wheezed. “I just wanted to compliment your clean suit. It is really classy!!” He snapped as he looked at me with a broad smile.
“Get set, we will be leaving together.” I scowled as I sat down on the table. I couldn’t stop thinking about her. The more I tried to take my mind off her, it was just impossible. It felt all like a minute ago when I was standing directly opposite her. I still saw her face clearly in my hand as I sat down on the chair.
“So, what are we going to be having today?” Clark walked into the sitting room half an hour later and he was now neatly dressed as he sat down directly opposite me.
“Umm… maybe we will just stop at Cass restaurant. I enjoy their morning coffee. And they also make the best dishes as well.” I responded as I got up from the chair and he carried my briefcase as he followed me behind.
He took the car keys as he drove down to the restaurant. “And could my day get any better than it is already?”
“Rex?” Clark called my attention as he handed over my phone to me.
I groaned as I saw the caller ID pop up. It was Tobey who was on the line. “Why is he calling this morning? Isn’t mom around to handle the matters of the firm?” I sighed as I accepted the call.
“Hello, good morning, boss!” He greeted calmly on the other end.
“Good morning, Tobey!!” I responded to his greeting as I remained quiet again as I waited for him to say the next thing he had to say.
“I was checking in yesterday and I came to discover that Kingsley just bought the Connor and Co Real Estate Firm.” He muttered.
“What!?” I gasped in shock. “How come? I thought we had some plans already!” I furrowed my eyebrows.
“Your mother said we should hold back. We never knew Kingsley would rush in to take the deal before us.” He said in a whisper.
I ended the call in annoyance as I rolled my eyes.
“What did he call in to tell you?” Clark asked as he looked at me.
“Kingsley just bought the Connor and Co Real Estate Firm. I guess we now have ourselves a major competitor in the real estate industry.” I cursed as I looked at Clark.
“Which means we have to level up our game. Madam. Alice would need to hold up an executive meeting pretty soon. Send out new offers and change our marketing strategy. Something that keeps us one step ahead of him now. We both know that he intentionally bought that firm, he must have an insider sharing vital information.” Clark snarled.
“Once I get back to Cleveland, I will be changing a lot of things. For now, I trust my mother to handle the firm. We can’t be at loss or lose our big investors as well.” I shuddered as I opened the door. My eyes were still fixed on Clark that I didn’t notice the two running kids as they ran into as they fell to the ground.
“Oh!! I am sorry!!” I quickly apologized as I turned to see Kanu and Kiana, my two little adorable twins. Kiana frowned as she raised her head and the moment our eyes met, a broad and effortless smile followed next.
“Mr. Handsome!!” She screamed in excitement as I supported her to get up.
Kanu was already on his feet as he stared at me. I could barely see the smile on his face. I guess he was trying to be the man here which always made me remain amazed as to how they have grown up this fast.
I raised my eyes as I saw Elena and her friend who I can’t seem to remember her name anymore.
“Are you okay!?” I asked as I looked at Kiana who was now sniffing my perfume.
“I am. You have a nice masculine scent.” She tilted her lips right after complimenting my smell.
“Oh! Thank you, my adorable and gorgeous friend. I see you came here with mummy and aunty to get some ice cream.” I quickly scanned what was in the white nylon as I looked back at Kiana who still had that broad smile on her face.
“Yess!!” She raised her two hands up as she giggled softly which also made me laugh as well.
I dropped her down as she ran back to Elena. I felt my wolf sprawl all over my mind as Elena had taken them away.
“You just have to be a little more patient, Rex!” Clark shuddered. “At least, your daughter loves you.” He said with a smile as we sat down for breakfast.
