Chapter 34

Book:The Alpha's Hot Chase After Divorce Published:2025-2-25

Logan’s POV.
“He is no more, you have to move on as well.” I snapped as I looked at Liam. “You did your best but what gain is it trying to have the Alpha pay when you are not yet an Alpha? Fighting powerful Alphas is a risky one because their bites are highly lethal to us normal werewolves.” I snapped as I arranged his black suit properly.
“You did your best, brother. You tried saving him but then, you couldn’t and do you know the only thing he demands from you right now, Liam?” I asked as I held his cheeks.
“He needs you to stay alive for him until you avenge his death.” I said calmly as I arranged his black tie as I smiled at him, trying to ease the sadness.
“Today is his burial, you shouldn’t wear such a long face at least. He will be present as well to say his last goodbyes to everyone of us before we bid him farewell forever. You don’t expect him to be happy seeing you look depressed, so come on, cheer up. Cheer up, Liam.” I said as I tapped his shoulder.
“Do you expect me to sit back and do nothing? Have you ever seen him before? He is definitely not here for any good and I can’t wait to rip off his heart. I will make him pay so dearly for this!!” He growled as his eyes glistened.
“You better have to be strong. The elders will be around today. You are the soon to be Alpha and you just lost your beta, if you appear weak before them, they won’t fear you and if they don’t, they won’t want you as their Alpha.” I snapped as I arranged the flower pinned to the top of his suit.
“Go out there, act like you are perfectly fine. Be the Alpha you want them to fear!! Don’t go out there and display your weakness, after all, you have got me by your side.” I smiled one sidedly as I shifted backwards as I looked at his suit.
“You are good to go.” I commended his outfit with a clap and a smile.
“I will see you there, brother!!” I smiled before leaving.
We held the burial in the Cathedral’s graveyard and right after the burial, I got a text from someone I thought was long gone.
Father had paid some cops to secure the cathedral throughout the burial, not allowing any journalist into the premises. We preferred our sacred burials, burials conducted only by members of the pack and nothing more.
I stood behind Liam and Othello was by our side. It was a duty to serve the Alpha’s sons and Othello, he was my father’s right hand man’s son and as such, had a duty to protect us. But then, they never accepted the fact that we were no longer kids. I groaned as I rolled my eyes in disgust.
“How did she get my contact?” I groaned as I excused myself.
“Hello? What is it? I thought I made it clear to you that I am not interested in you or any other thing. Just let me be, Amber!!” I cursed as I pulled it off to end the call.
“I have something you have always wanted, you know, you just have to make it up to me and I will tell you all about it and right after that, we can go our separate ways and I promise, I will be out of your life forever!!” She scowled angrily over the phone as she ended the call.
Amber was my fated mate but then, I wanted something more. I wanted someone powerful enough, someone who could make me be the one man I desire greatly.
Amber was from the family of some Omegas in New Kingston. I wanted a mate that would strengthen me and that was why I had broken up with her and I had her leave with the boy she had cheated on me with countless times.
And now, she’s back from nowhere, claiming to know how to get me the one thing I was desperately in need for.
She sent me an address and I drove down immediately after sending Othello to go get some stuff from the grocery.
I couldn’t let anyone know about my seeing Amber. I wasn’t ready for all their unnecessary questions.
I walked inside the room as I saw her seated on the bed. She had gotten more beautiful than before.
“Why did you call me here?” I snapped as I looked at her.
She got up as she approached where I stood as she looked at me. “This? This won’t work, Amber. What do you want?” I growled as I looked at her, pushing off her hand from my chest.
“It’s been a year already when you dumped me because you got carried away with your plans of being Alpha and because you saw me as being unfit to be your mate.”
“What do you want?” I growled but this time, pinning her to the wall as my eyes slowly changed to yellow.
“How to be a powerful Alpha, I know how to make you one but then, you will have to get me pregnant.” She said calmly as she grinned.
“You think I am a fool? Right?” I growled as I tightened my hand around her neck as I looked at her.
“I could walk out that door and maybe, go for Liam instead. Imagine when he still receives the Alpha’s bite. He will become way more powerful than any other Alphas.” She chuckled softly as she looked at me.
I growled lightly as I let go of her neck. “You can leave New Kingston. If I set my eyes on you again or anywhere near Liam, I will end your pathetic life.” I growled as I walked away, banging the door hard.
I drove back to the house as I went straight to my room. “What could she be talking about? How possible was it to become an Alpha?” I furrowed my eyebrows as I took off my clothes.
I looked at the mark on my chest as I exhaled sharply. My eyes glistened as I looked at the mirror.
