Rex POV.
I couldn’t get my mind away from her yet and just no matter how hard I tried to. “Not again!!” I groaned as I brushed off the thought from the previous night.
“How could I have forgotten to take my phone from the jacket?” I cursed as I looked at myself in the mirror. I couldn’t control my thoughts.
I screamed even more as I remembered how I had dragged her gently as I walked her down to the front of her residential building before I left.
“Rex? How many hours will it take you to get done? We need to be on our way already to the hotel, come on!!” Clark scowled as he banged the door.
“I could just get a new phone, you know it, Clark!!” I shrugged as I brushed my hair down with my hand as I turned on the shower. And in a few minutes, I was done as we drove down to The Eleven.
“Damn!!” Clark grinned as he sighted her from afar. “There she is, Rex. She is indeed beautiful, or wait, is she aware that you were going to come around today to pick up your phone?” He asked as he paused for a while as he turned to me, locking his eyes with mine.
“Hell no!! How could she be aware?” I snapped as I rolled my eyes.
“Or was this your plan all along?” He teased as he chuckled softly. “Don’t tell me you intentionally forgot your phone in the coat so that you could use that as an excuse to come back here to see her.” He pouted as he looked at me, poking my right hand as he laughed lightly as he looked at me.
“Are you actually being serious right now, Clark?? You are fully aware that I am the last person she would ever want to set her eyes on right now. It was just a mistake.” I snapped as I gave him a glare. “And don’t give me that look, you don’t have to believe me either!!” I sneered as we continued walking to the bar where she was attending to the few customers who were already at the bar.
“So, what do you plan on saying to her?” He asked as he kept a straight face now.
“You will be the one to do the talking and not me. There is absolutely no way I will do the talking, no way!!” I scoffed as I stood still, making no extra move towards the bar.
“Seriously?” He whined as he shook his head. “We are talking about your phone here and not mine, Rex. So if there is anyone to do the talking, it should be you and not me.” He scowled as he looked away. “How do you expect to win her back if you can’t confidently walk up to her, you already made her like you when you stood up for her the other day and then, also coming to her aid when Liam Bohen tried taking advantage of her again. Come on, Rex, you can do this!!” He gingered as he pulled me.
“Hi… Emm.. I…”
“Darn it!!” I groaned as I went on stuttering.
“Here!!” She brought out a bag from under the counter as she dropped it on the counter. “You forgot your phone in your pocket. Saw it during the laundry.” She said calmly as she looked away as she continued attending to the customers.
“Come on, don’t get back here. Say something. Like, invite her for dinner, or even a night walk, Rex. Don’t be such a dickhead.” I could hear Clark.
He was communicating with me through the mind link. “Come on, Rex!! Now is your best shot. Do it, Rex. Do it, Rex!!” He snarled.
I had blocked him as I turned to leave but then I met those angry looking eyes of his as I turned back, resting on the counter as I waited for her to get done with the other customers.
“How can I help you, sir?” One of the male bar attendants walked up to me. I quickly sent him off as I sat down on one of the chairs which was directly facing the counter.
“Tequila.” I muttered as I looked at her.
She wore a straight face as she poured it into a cup as she dropped it on the counter, avoiding eye contact with me.
“Elena?” I finally gathered the audacity to call her name and I felt my cheeks fluster as I mentioned her name.
She raised her eyebrows as she looked at me. And the moment my eyes met with hers, I went speechless for a while. “Darn it!!” I exhaled sharply as I looked at her.
“I was wondering if… maybe tomorrow, we will have dinner together at my place. Do you mind?” I asked in a calm voice as I looked right into her eyes.
“I won’t be available. I’m sorry!!” She quickly turned down my proposal as I felt this sudden sharp pain in my chest.
“Don’t mind her, she will be very much available tomorrow.” The other waitress muttered.
I couldn’t exactly say where I saw her but then, I felt happy knowing that with her now, there was absolutely no way Elena would turn me down now.
Elena exhaled sharply, “I said, I won’t be available. I need to get some stuff from the grocery store, and I have a lot of pending house chores as well to get done. You don’t expect me to.”
“You don’t have to worry about that. I will take care of that.” The lady smiled as she looked at Elena. “I will also be having a day off tomorrow, so I will take care of my two godchildren and together we will tidy up the house, so, come on, you have absolutely nothing to worry about.”
“Godmother to my children??” I mumbled as I never thought she would have given our child to a lady to be their godmother. I grinned as I waited patiently for her answer.
