Chapter 13 Thirteen

After Levi and Kai left, Sara left the bathroom and went into her room. She locked the door behind her-in case Levi had a change of mind and decided to get rid of her.
“You’ll get us killed at this rate,” she grumbled to Edna as she changed into her pajamas. “Why did you have to do that when Kai was around?”
Edna sighed and replied, “It’s full moon tonight, you know.”
“And?”
“Normally, it’s hard to hide sexual desire because of the mate bond. On a full moon night, it’s nearly impossible. I’m sorry, I couldn’t help it.”
It was Sara’s turn to sigh. There was nothing she could do about that.
After the way Levi had touched her, she couldn’t blame Edna for not being able to keep her desire in check.
Not when her body got hot just thinking about it. Those eyes, those hands, on her skin, her breasts…
She shuddered.
It was crazy that after how things ended, she was still having these kinds of thoughts.
She should be terrified, thinking of a way to survive in a dorm with two mates who looked ready to kill her.
Two Alpha mates.
A part of her was still to believe that this was her life. To have not one but two Alpha mates. Three, counting Victor. What if she had never broken the bond with Victor? She would now have three. How on earth would that work? What was going to happen when Christian found out that Levi was also her mate?
Or, maybe, Christian wasn’t the worry.
Levi was.
He was the one who seemed to have an issue with the idea of her being with other men. Christian would probably not be bothered. He would simply reject her and get on with his life.
But Levi…
She hid her face in her palms as she realised that the truth would soon be revealed now that Kai knew that Levi was her mate.
Would Levi fight Christian, like the two males had fought over the she-wolf earlier on? Or was he more likely to come back to hurt her? He had looked so angry when he accused her of trying to seduce Kai.
Screaming silently, she went over to the window and looked out towards the school buildings.
“Let’s run away,” she whispered softly, addressing Edna.
“Where would we go?” Edna thought back.
Sara sighed. Edna was right. Where would they go? They couldn’t go back to Victor’s house, could they? She wasn’t even sure they would be welcomed back into Blood Moon. Only as slaves.
She knew one thing for sure. She was never going back if her fate rested in Victor’s hands.
If she couldn’t go back to Blood Moon, that meant she would have to go rouge.
It was the only other choice. With no family or pack, she would have to join the rogues.
“Accept Levi,” Edna suggested.
“We don’t know him,” she replied.
“At least he wants to mate you,” Edna pointed out, “unlike Victor, who was only stringing you along.”
At the mention of Victor, her heart squeezed painfully. She tried her best not to think about him, but it was impossible not to. Some days, it was hard to believe that everything had been a lie. That he had tried to hurt her. That he was the reason she was here.
During the three years of being in a sweet loving relationship with him, she never would have foreseen such an ending.
Had he been fooling her all along?
“Victor said no one would want to mate you because the Alpha King rejected you,” Edna reminded her. “Imagine his face when he finds out your mate is an Alpha.”
Yeah, she would love to see his face. But… “I can’t mate Levi just to shove it in his face.”
“It’s a worthy bonus,” Edna said. “Are you going to reject him, then?”
“I’m not in a position to break another bond,” Sara said. “We’ll be too weak. If…if either of them rejects me, I don’t know if we can make it in here for much longer.”
It would even be worse if both rejected her. Finding a mate after breaking the bond with Victor was a blessing, but finding two was clearly a curse.
Other than getting weaker from breaking another mate bond, she would also have a harder time protecting herself in the school.
“Levi can protect you,” Edna said. “You know he can. The other students probably fear him. He looks as ethereal as an angel, but when he gets angry, it seems like the fires of hell are after you. Imagine how threatening he would be to anyone who tried to mess with you. Kai was all but quaking in his boots a while ago.”
Sara couldn’t help but smile. Edna was right, Kai had been shaken, even though he tried to stand his ground. And Kai was Levi’s roommate, and a fellow Alpha. Any other wolf would have probably gone running for the woods.
“You can always reject him if he turns out to be an asshole,” Edna reasoned.
“You really like him, don’t you?” she mused. Her wolf’s reaction to Levi was more intense than to Christian, and even Victor. If her wolf had been half as attracted to Victor, she would not have been able to turn down his advances.
“He’s not bad,” Edna replied, attempting to sound casual, but her tone suggested a starry-eyed gaze.
“I’ll think about it,” Sara said. She wondered whether mating Levi was an option any more.
Either way, she had to think, and act, fast. Tomorrow morning, she would have to leave her room. And go into a school with two angry mates and a vengeful Eddie. And a whole load of she-wolves who wanted her gone.
Not to forget the school president who had made it his personal mission to give her a hard time.
If she didn’t have a plan of action by morning, she would be done for.
“Okay,” Edna agreed.
After that, Sara sat down to do her assignments. Turning her attention to her studies provided some much needed distraction, but not for long.
When she was done, she lay in bed, unable to sleep.
Whatever she did, she had to get on the good side of her roommates. As long as two of them weren’t trying to kill her, she would survive.
She wasn’t very worried about Kai. Soon or later, he would realise she was never going to accept his offer, and he would go back to whoring around with other female students.
She felt that if she could get Levi on her side, she would not have to worry about Christian.
Christian…
Was he going to hate her forever? Would he ever warm up to her? Did he ever warm up to anyone?
Once she got on good terms with her roommates, surviving in North Academy would be easier. Or so she hoped.
Right now, she only had to think of a way to get on her roommates’ good side.
