Chapter 33: Kael Beat Lucian Badly

They fought five rounds, and in each one, Kael completely dominated Lucian.
Even when Kael had fought Daniel before, he hadn’t been this ruthless.
He struck with such force, as if every blow was meant to be his last.
It was supposed to be a friendly match, more of a performance than anything serious. But now, I could feel a murderous aura radiating from Kael.
With his overwhelming strength, Kael didn’t even choose to knock Lucian down immediately. Instead, he was like a patient hunter, toying with his prey until exhaustion set in before delivering the final blow.
Lucian’s stamina and speed were no match for Kael. In the end, Lucian lay on the mat, blood trickling from his mouth.
If the referee hadn’t called the match, Kael might have beaten Lucian to death.
“Well done!” Evelyn was the first to stand and applaud when the match ended. She cupped her hands around her mouth, mimicking a megaphone, and let out excited cheers.
I also stood up, clapping wildly.
To be honest, even though it was a friendly match, watching Kael thrash Lucian felt incredibly satisfying.
It was something I had wanted to do but never could. Now, Kael had done it for me.
Lucian, now looking more pitiful than ever, was dragged off the mat and taken to the infirmary.
At that moment, Kael looked up and saw me applauding him. A pleased smile spread across his face.
Was he happy because I was clapping for him?
Kael’s smile sent the girls who adored him into a frenzy of screams.
He was like a dazzling star. I was sure that if anyone thought Kael and I were together, they’d lose their minds.
Especially Vivienne. She was now the first to rush up and hug Kael.
The other girls, though equally infatuated, didn’t dare make a move with Vivienne around. They could only watch from a distance.
After the friendly match, a grand party followed.
Rebecca wanted me to join the party. Though I didn’t fully understand why, I went with Evelyn anyway.
We gathered on the same lawn as before, surrounded by a lively crowd of young people.
The band was ready to play, and the food and drinks were all set up.
Evelyn and I sat on the grass, sipping beer and chatting. Her vape had a strong grapefruit flavor, and she offered me a puff.
There was no better moment to relax.
And I was completely at ease, knowing Lucian wouldn’t bother me. He was probably still in the infirmary, right?
“Hey, Judy, you’re here too?” Evelyn suddenly called out.
I turned and saw a girl with a buzz cut, dressed in denim, with a row of earrings on her right ear.
She looked incredibly cool.
“Evelyn!” Judy sat down right next to her.
Evelyn immediately introduced her to me. “Seraph, this is Judy, a friend I recently met at the ballroom dance club.”
Evelyn joined all kinds of clubs and had many friends. I smiled and greeted Judy, shaking her hand.
“You’re cute!” Judy said, staring at me.
“Haha, you’re pretty cool yourself.”
Evelyn quickly stepped in front of me, saying to Judy, “Why didn’t you come earlier? We could’ve watched the match together.”
“I came to see if there were any beauties around. Didn’t expect to run into you, though.”
Judy, true to her appearance, was straightforward. She even grabbed Evelyn’s shoulders and pressed her forehead against Evelyn’s.
“Long time no see. Did you miss me?”
“Of course, babe.” Evelyn wrapped her arms around Judy’s neck.
The two of them entangled as if no one else was around.
I was stunned. Honestly, it was the first time I’d seen Evelyn act so intimately with another girl.
They looked like a loving couple.
But I remembered that at the start of the semester, Evelyn had been dating a guy.
After a while, Evelyn turned to Judy and grabbed her hand. “Let’s go dance!”
“Sure.” Judy smiled.
“Sorry, Seraph, I’ll hang out with Judy for a bit.”
“No problem, go ahead!” I quickly replied.
After watching Judy lead Evelyn away, I stayed seated, drinking my beer. From my spot, most people wouldn’t notice me, but I had a clear view of everyone else.
God, I saw Lucian. His forehead and cheekbones were bruised, and he looked disheveled.
He was limping, but he had still come to the party!
I thought he wouldn’t show up.
His eyes scanned the crowd, as if searching for someone.
Despite his limp, he persisted.
I didn’t know if he was looking for me, but I curled up in the shadows, hoping he wouldn’t spot me.
Lucian moved closer, scrutinizing everyone around him. It seemed he hadn’t found who he was looking for.
Just as I considered leaving, Vivienne appeared. She stood in front of Lucian, reaching out to touch the bruises on his face.
I couldn’t hear what they said, but Vivienne held Lucian’s arm, and he didn’t push her away. Instead, he lowered his head and spoke to her.
For some reason, at that moment, I felt like a lit fuse, my anger boiling over.
Even though Lucian and I had broken up, seeing them so close made my blood burn with rage.
I wanted to tear them apart. But reason held me back. I quickly got up and headed toward the nearby woods.
I didn’t want to see Lucian and Vivienne.
They were both despicable!
In the woods, the dense trees hid me well.
Alone, away from the crowd, I gradually calmed down.
Clearly, I couldn’t completely let go or treat Lucian as a stranger.
He was my first love, and it had ended in such a messy way. I admit, I still couldn’t fully move on. I wanted to go back to my apartment.
As I prepared to leave, I heard voices not far away.
In the quiet woods, they stood out.
It was a man and a woman. I recognized them-Kael and Vivienne!
I followed the sound and saw the two figures.
Vivienne was so strange! She had just been with Lucian, and now she was in the woods with Kael. She was truly skilled, juggling all those men and keeping them all enchanted.
In the quiet woods, I caught snippets of their conversation.
“There have been stray wolves around lately,” Kael said to Vivienne.
“That shouldn’t be. The town has been driving them out, right?” Vivienne replied.
Stray wolves? This was the first I’d heard of them.
Soon, their conversation ended. I heard footsteps fading away.
I stepped out from behind the tree where I’d been hiding, only to find Kael standing just a meter away, staring right at me.
