Chapter 866: Reuben Found a Clue

He was right. The next day, as soon as he woke up, all major social media platforms were flooded with the candid photos.
Nelson dropped Charlotte off at the Ellison family. In front of the car, they whispered to each other for a while before Charlotte left, looking back every few steps.
Reporters wrote about them as if they were a couple in the throes of a passionate romance.
Callie saw this and couldn’t help but sneer. They hadn’t seen Nelson’s reckless behavior in Davian’s office that day.
The gossip confirmed the business dealings. The fact that these photos were released proved that the Oconnor Group indeed had a commercial collaboration with the Ellison family.
Callie did yoga in the sunlight, recalling last night. In the dim light, she had asked Jamir, “You got news so quickly after the meeting ended. Do you have an insider?”
Jamir squinted slightly. “Are you testing me? Do you want my help?”
“I don’t understand. What do I need your help with?”
“To bring some people down.”
“Who?” Callie’s eyeliner was drawn long today, giving her a sharp aura.
Jamir pondered for a moment, choosing his words carefully. “Mistresses, in every sense of the word.”
Callie’s smile faded. She didn’t know how much Jamir knew or why he was willing to help her, but she was certain his motives were not simple.
Jamir smirked, raised his coffee cup, and clinked it against hers with a crisp sound.
“I’ll be in Ylosea until the hotel project is finished. Contact me anytime.”
A piercing ringtone interrupted Callie’s thoughts. She opened her eyes and adjusted to the light.
The caller ID displayed Malachi’s name.
She answered immediately. “Malachi.”
“Miss Marsh, we’ve found some clues about your father, but…”
Malachi hesitated. Callie grew anxious, fearing the worst. “But what?”
“Let’s meet in person.”
At a noodle shop outside the police station, Callie arrived late. Malachi was already eating.
Seeing her, he quickly swallowed his food. “I have important matters this afternoon and can’t go far, so I asked you to come here.”
“It’s fine.” Callie sat across from him, her face full of worry. “Malachi, what did you mean on the phone? What clues did you find?”
Malachi pulled a file folder from his briefcase. “We followed some traces and found your father’s last known location.”
Callie was surprised as she opened the folder. “You mean my father didn’t disappear by the seaside?”
“The seaside is crowded and chaotic. It’s not easy to abduct someone unless he went with someone he knew,” Malachi said, his eyes bright with interest in the case.
A stack of photos slid out. Malachi’s finger pressed on one of them. “We followed this car and found a place.”
The car was an ordinary brand.
Callie quickly flipped through the photos and stopped when she saw a familiar place-Sky Pavilion?
It was Jaquan’s place.
Callie frowned at Malachi. “Um…”
“This is where the car disappeared.”
Malachi took another bite of noodles. “But our evidence collection didn’t go smoothly because the other party was very cooperative. We reviewed the surveillance footage from that day; there was no one in the car, and the driver had no connection to your father.”
Callie saw that the driver was one of Jaquan’s men, a guy named Scarface.
She couldn’t understand it. Reuben’s mind was getting confused, but he could recognize people. He couldn’t have gone with a stranger.
