Jessica’s POV
She removed it to reveal the thin polo she is wearing underneath, her tummy has grown a lot but not too big and exaggerated, she looks really cute in pregnancy and I know I will look good too, can’t wait to start showing a bump.
“I feel so much better now”
“Why are you wearing such thick clothing? Don’t want anyone to know”
“Of course not, I will still wed so it will be known that day, I just wanted to surprise you like I said ”
“Oh, am really surprised, you are pregnant and you didn’t tell me till fours months?”
“Well actually I didn’t know till my bump becomes apparent, I thought my period is delaying because I was stressed out”
“Well now you know you weren’t ”
“Yes, it was really unexpected ”
“Well surprise ”
“I will leave you two to enjoy your freedom while you still can, Jess and Laura congratulations once again, goodbye and have a nice day”
“You too girl ”
“So tell me everything you are feeling Laura”
“Okay, I have morning fever and I can’t seem to stomach anything, the ridiculous cravings too”
“The doctor warned me about it, what type of things were you craving for”
“The most ridiculous one was the smell of diesel, one time I craved for it so much, Mike has to go buy it”
“Are you being real, I wouldn’t do that no matter how much I crave for it”
“Hahhahhahha, you really don’t know what pregnancy does to one do you love?”
“Well I wouldn’t know, it’s my first issue”
“Me too and am telling you as someone who is ahead of you that it isn’t as easy as it seems, but don’t worry I got your back”
“Thank you a lot, I really appreciate your support ”
“No problem, it’s women power we support each other in various situations ”
“Yeah, oh silly me, I didn’t get you anything to drink ”
“Do you have anything sour? That’s the only thing that has been able to stay down in my tummy”
“Okay, I will tell them that”
I called the cafe to get any sour drinks and sweet snacks for her, we started discussing other things about how her one week trip with mike was, I heard she and Mike also hired the same tour guide as us and they really didn’t regret, he did his job so well they left a large tip and good review for him on his website.
She stayed up to three hours after having her snacks before she left, I wanted to eat the same thing once they brought it down and I ordered too, it tasted so good I moaned out of pure delight, I have an extra before stopping, work that day was a blur because the day really ran fast.
Xavier came to pick me up once he closed up from work, I was at the cafe stuffing my face with berry cake before he came, I run up to him in excitement,
“Xavier, guess what?”
“What is it that got you running like this, remember you are pregnant love”
“Yeah I know I was being careful not to trip, now back to my guess, we have got two fathers and two mothers within us”
“Okay I know one is us and who are the second ones?”
“Guess babe, guess”
“I am not good at guessing games honey, get in first, the heater is on, seems like anytime soon the snow will start falling ”
“Okay, I will tell you then, it’s Mike and Laura”
“What!!! ”
“Oh my goodness, you startle me”
“Am sorry, am so sorry, but you said Mike?”
“Yes, they are four months gone even”
“Wow, Mike is a son of a b…”
“Babe, no curse words in front of our baby, you don’t want her to grow up with your foul mouth??”
“Of course I want her strong but not foul-mouthed ”
“Then say only good words”
“Okay, as you wish love”
“So yes Laura is pregnant and their wedding is going to be this week end, they gave me an invitation, here”
I gave him the invite card I received earlier from Laura, he looked at it and nodded, he was silent all of sudden,
“Xavier, are you okay?”
“Am fine just thinking about something ”
“What is it?”
“You know, we didn’t have any wedding ceremony at all and am really regretting it a lot now, people should know you are my wife and you deserve your dream wedding ”
“Oh Xavier, it’s fine, we know we met on a different circumstances and we didn’t think about it then, it’s fine honey”
“No it isn’t, when you give birth, let’s have our own wedding ceremony, you are my wife and will be celebrated ”
“Owwhh, thank you honey, I feel like crying ”
“No don’t cry sweetie, i don’t mean to upset you at all”
“It’s okay, just the hormones raging ”
“Okay, just know that I love you a lot ”
“And I love you too”
He kissed me in that sweet way I like it, I felt like I was melting down from the kiss,
“You are so beautiful, I have to restrain myself because of our little butterfly ”
“Butterfly?”
“That’s what I call my baby bump, she is my little butterfly princess ”
“Oh okay, that’s cute considering if it’s a baby girl”
“It is a baby girl, I know it”
“Well I pray it works out for you dear ”
“But I will love it if it’s a boy too, I just want a girl that I will pamper”
“I want a boy to be first because I want my baby girl to have a big brother that will protect her”
“That’s true but she is daddy’s girl and will have daddy protecting her”
“Will you be with her in class as she studies”
“Well if it’s possible ”
I burst out laughing as I picture Xavier in kindergarten with our baby girl and other little kids, they will be scared shirtless to see a big man in their class.
“It’s really funny but if that’s what you want Jess then I wish for a baby boy first too ”
“Well let’s nature take it’s course in this”
We drove the rest of the way home in a happy silence.
