“Emma was there when this happened? She didn’t ask questions?” Lucille questioned, looking surprised about the event that Maya was talking about.
“Oh, right. She did. That had enhanced her distrust in us, especially when we kept hiding around it, avoiding the questions. Now, I can see that we were doing more harm than good. We should have been clean to her from the start, since inevitably she would still find out. After all, she was to be Luna, Derek’s mate.” Maya stated, definite wistful longing in her voice. She missed her friend.
“I miss her too.” Freya and Eva said at the same time, earning a disgruntled grunt from Derek.
They were not helping matters. He thought. He needed to get out, he was about to, when his mother started talking again..
“There are also other clues you need to know about. The necklace and the markings.”
“What are you talking about?” Peter asked. He didn’t know about this, and his tone showed that, and that he wasn’t happy about the development.
“The first time that Emma was ransacked, we found a necklace there. We don’t know where it came from. We still have it though, and then, there are the drawings in Sheila’s house, on the walls. The markings create something like a pathway. Sheila, did you draw it?”
Sheila shook her head. “I don’t even know what you’re talking about. Carvings in the wall? I will remember that if I had drawn it. Do you have the pictures? Can we see the necklace too?”
Melvina nodded, getting up from the hair. The items were in her room.

“Tempest, I’m drained. I don’t think I can stay much longer. We should leave now that Melvina is out of the room.” Ketura voiced out, feeling life leave her.
If she continued this way, then she would drop to the ground of the hall in her full human form, and that would be scary.
She almost chuckled at the thought but then remembered the first time. She didn’t think the people would discount it as they had the first time.
“You can go home. I will meet you there. If you want to stay, I can lend you my strength. Do you want that?” She heard Tempest ask, and sighed. Her friend was really determined to see this through to then end, even at the risk of her health and magic.
But Ketura knew she wouldn’t leave her here. She didn’t leave her before, she wouldn’t start now. “I will receive your strength, sister.” She said, inhaling deeply in amazement, when she felt the bout of sunshine and neat air all around her.
She knew that the people below would feel it too.
A nice cool air, she hopes they will think.

Blenda rubbed her belly fondly, as she felt that bout of peace in the air again.
She looked at the birds, and furrowed her eyes. If she didn’t know better, she would think that they were responsible for it. But it will take great magic to retain a shape for this long.
Ancients were different; it was an ability-inborn-they didn’t need to learn it. But for witches, it was different- enormous energy was consumed.
She looked at Freya, the latter was looking at the birds with furrowed eyes. What could she be thinking? She opened a mind path with her.
“What do you think about the birds?”
Freya jerked first, startled that Blenda was communicating with her. It should be the first.
“They are beautiful birds, peaceful if I must say, but they seem strange just sitting atop there, without eating or bickering. I don’t see why they should be here. Shouldn’t they be on some tree?”
“That’s what I thought too, and they were females.”
Freya and Blenda pouted when Dobah zoomed into their mind path without permission. And that’s the thing about communication on the general mind path, anybody can see the information and interfere.
It can be stopped when a group exchanges their blood; then they can communicate even though they aren’t mated.
“Maybe they are lesbians??” Freya added, smiling as she heard Dobah scoff.
“Lesbians my foot. Birds aren’t humans. What do they know about female organs and how they work?”
Blenda chuckled, finding the statement funny. The smile on Kane’s and Yodah’s lips also told her that they were hearing the conversation, even though they weren’t making any input.
She chuckled the more when she saw the confused looks on the werewolves. Sheila seemed to know what was going on.
“You know we can also do that, communicate through a mind path.” Sheila muttered, trying to hide a smile, but failing. It was hard not to return Blenda’s smile.
“Yeah, I am aware. It is just funny seeing their faces this confused.” She said, talking about Peter, and the rest. But Eva wasn’t in the least surprised.
Their eyes riveted to the door when Melvina stepped in.
“Here it is.” Melvina said, dropping the phone in Sheila’s hand. The video was already in play.
Sheila looked at the markings for a while, before passing the phone to Lucille.
Her mind ruminated, and was still ruminating when the phone got to Peter, the last person on the list. She didn’t carve that. But it was obvious that it was a pathway to somewhere or something. It just told of something. She just wasn’t sure what.
Everyone thought the same. She could see that on their faces. “Well, I guess we will have to research about that later. Agrip, are you on it?”
“Yes.” Agrip replied, already making an inventory of books in his library.
“How about the necklace?” She asked Melvina.
“Here it is.” Melvina said, dropping the age old necklace in Sheila’s hands, aware of the horrified look on her friend’s face, and the gasps that came from the ancients.
“Do you know who have it?” Melvina asked, already knowing the answer.
“Yes, of course, I know. But that is impossible. How would it be in my house?” Sheila asked, looking at the ancients, one after the another. She knew that they knew who the necklace belonged to.
“Who has it?”‘ Peter asked, re-echoing his mate’s question.
“It belongs to Nath??”
“Nathan.”
“Nathan.”
