Derek gritted his teeth, hearing Aiden talk.
Dude had touched Emma? That would explain why his mate had been extra horny that night, why her moans had been frantic when he had touched her.
Although she had managed to fade off Aiden’s touch miraculously, the touch had still remained, and that had been why she had pounced on him when he came inside the room.
Well, it was better he was the one. He couldn’t imagine it being with Anthony or someone else. He didn’t regret it either. He only regretted not thinking of protection. He didn’t think that Emma was ready to mother a baby. Girl was still trying to get used to the fact that she was in the middle of a supernatural fight she only heard of or had seen in movies. Wheew! No way would she want a baby now.
“I’m sorry Derek. I’m not sure you understand why I did what I did, but I am still sorry.” Aiden apologized, his eyes roaming to Freya who was staring at him like he had grown two heads. She was trying to fathom why he hadn’t told her this. Of course she didn’t like it one bit, that he had touched Emma without her consent, but she would have loved a heads up.
Did Emma later find out that he was the one? If she didi, how had she been able to still look at him?
Emma would always remain a mystery to her. She mused. If she was in the same position, she would have kicked the man where the sun doesn’t shine, so hard that he wouldn’t have been able to use the stupid organ for the rest of life.
She huffed when she heard him in her head, murmuring an apology. She didn’t want it, but she also knew that she couldn’t stay mad at him for long.
“So, we can say that her sex with Derek triggered the gifts in her, and broke the seal that held back her real scent?” Blenda inquired, returning the atmosphere to the way it was.
Sheila nodded.
“I think the same, Blenda. We have to get to her soon. We should begin the search tomorrow or next. I think also that Tempest or Margo might be the one that was behind the sealing spell. Although I am not sure how they knew that she would be the one that is tagged prophecy. And about her dreams, obviously it was about the incoming war. The man with fangs and fading skin would be the vampire.” She concluded, looking at Dobah and the other ancients.
“If her dream is to be trusted, which it should be, then we can safely say that Legardo will soon recruit them. That might be his next line of action as he must have discovered that we are no longer on his side. That would be a terrible mistake on his side though. Vampires are loyal, they are not to be trusted. They are…” Kane stopped, trying to find an appropriate word for his next statement.
“Uncontrollable, rascals, feral, heartless, no-conscience-killing machines.” Lucille helped him, and he nodded, giving her a magnetic smile which left her mouth dry.
Freya fake coughed, to bring their attention back to the issue on ground.
“Do you think that the…vampire…would listen to his request?” Peter asked, his mind had been making a count of the people in his pack, and for the life of him, he couldn’t point out the one that could be Legardo.
His mind had even stopped at his beta, ruminating on the look that the man had given him earlier today. He had disregarded it though. It might be because of the mateship stuff between Claire and Derek, which he was sure his friend will get over soon. He couldn’t be Legardo.
“Well, if you give them adequate incentive, they might pretend to work for you. The Legardo, I hear, has powers; so maybe, he might be able to put them under control with a bait, for a while. In other words, we need to make our plans fast. My bet is that they would go for Emma first. They would want to find her first.” Dobah stated, remembering the vampire that he had fought earlier before coming on this journey, the one he had fought before Kane came along with the news.
Peter nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. This needed to be averted or else the werewolves of the county would be doomed. To think the girl had been warning them then, and they had exiled her. He still hasn’t stopped beating himself up.
“So, Legardo…anything else we should know about him, apart from the fact that he has powers more than a normal werewolf.” Blenda inquired, taking notes of these all in her mind, she was a good bookkeeper.
“Yes. The real Legardo was cunny, witty and a womanizer. As Fayot had mentioned, Leo is his son, but not of his mate. That will tell you how lustful the Alpha was. He is strong too, but he doesn’t have powers. He is ambitious though, but not good enough to hatch plots this cute. This new Legardo…well has powers. He is from this pack originally, and has two children, twins, the girl and the boy, right? The guy that attends the same college with you guys. We don’t know who their mother is. The real Legardo’s wife is still alive. I guess we will have to wait till Fayot is up to tell us more. We also know that he met the ancients to strike a bargain, and that he is walking with Leonarya and Arnold. Is there anything else I am missing?” Sheila asked, looking around.
Shakes of head, and she continued. “Freya, about Fayot, how long will he remain in the coma state? So that we won’t be here too long, whilst he is awake and under the radar of Legardo again.”
“I timed it for three hours. We still have time. I put a stopwatch in my mind. I will get to him in time.” Freya answered confidently, she knew what she was doing.
“Is there anything about Legardo’s son that we should know?” Blenda asked another.
“Well, he is his father’s son. The fake Legardo, I mean. He has powers too. He had been about to lay claim on Emma during the time her scent was driving everyone crazy. When I tried to stop him, he caused me to fall to the floor and almost die, without touching me. Just with his eyes. I don’t know how he did that. But hearing about Legardo, I can see now that whatever it is, it flows in their genes.” Maya answered, remembering that fateful day that Emma had found out that she wasn’t human.
