“Blenda is right. We should share information, it would be helpful in the course of this meeting or war.” Melvina agreed, her eyes meeting with Blenda, who smiled at her. She couldn’t help but return the smile. The woman was a breath of fresh air.
“First, I think we should talk about the prophecy and what it tells. Please the full text, not paraphrased. We need to know what we are dealing with.”
Kane who had wanted to speak out of turn, hearing the context ‘full text, and not paraphrased’ shut his mouth, pouting to the surprise of his brother and the other ancients when Lucille chuckled in her mind.
They didn’t know the latter; they only saw kanae pouting like a kid denied lollipop.
Seeing that no one knew the full text of the prophecy, Melvina was about asking to be told the paraphrased version, when Agrip signalled with a raise of his index finger, that he had something to say.
Of course. Blenda mused. The man of wisdom. She thought, watching as the dude even stood up to his feet. She found it rather amusing.
“Agrip, you can sit and talk. This is not a pack meeting. It is more like a family meeting.” Peter requested, biting his lips when he realized that he had called the whole lot, family.
Fortunately, none of the ancients took offense at the statement, they rather pretended that they didn’t hear him.
Agrip nodded before taking his seat.
Derek snorted as he saw the thin smile on the older man’s lips. Did the term ‘family’ please the man so much? Well, it was best they got together, that way Emma would be found faster.
He couldn’t help but wonder if she had meant what she said when she had mentioned that she would burn down the people if he sent them to retrieve her. She wasn’t that wicked, was she?
Hypocrite! He heard Maru call him, and sighed. Of course he was the most wicked of them all. He gathered himself when Agrip began to speak.
“Well, I didn’t know the prophecy at first apart from the normal text of a saviour that would save us from calamity that would befall the world at one time. Actually, I had thought that it was a lame text that had probably happened a long time ago since it was in the ancient books, but my wolf had chosen to keep the knowledge at the back of his mind. Well, when I had gotten to the mountain of Ai, and had met Agagog, he had given me the full testimony which he had admonished would happen in my time, unfailingly.”
Freya interrupted him. “Why had you gone there at first?” She asked, more out of curiosity than suspicions.
“To inquire about Derek. At his birth, there had been some strange sights in the atmosphere. Not that I am an astrologer, but I read a lot, so I had thought that something was special about his coming. So, when he was able to communicate with his wolf before the aforementioned age, my suspicions were confirmed.”
When Freya nodded, without saying a thing, Agrip took it as a go ahead request to continue talking about the prophecy.
“Agagog had said the prophecy told about a misguided tyrant with a ruthless ambition to rule the world, and in doing so, out of his obsession, would upset powers unknown to mankind and supernaturals alike. He would lift them up, not knowing the extent of their powers, thinking that he controls them, but at last they control him, and with that power would control the world, or rather destroy it, and bring to end, the earth as we know it. Yet there is a light in the dark tunnel. It spoke of a light, a savior that would thwart it, the last hope of all living things, a reincarnated goddess, with three spirits. She would be the one to stop it. The sign would be a mark on her back. I didn’t see a reason for the mark, but seeing Freya and Lucille, I can understand now. The three look so much alike. Even Leo’s brother that had attacked the pack had become confused when he had seen Emma and Freya in the hall. Freya and Lucille, any marks on your back though? We have to confirm.”
Freya shook her head. Aiden too. After all he had transversed the contours of her skin. If there was a mark, he would know.
Freya blushed, knowing the thoughts in Aiden’s mind. Dude was so dirty minded.
“Wait, when is your birthday?” Agrip asked, inhaling deeply whn Freya jerked and faced her sister Lucille.
“Tomorrow.” They replied as if on cue with their mother.
“Oh my god, Emma would be alone. If she is, then she might shift if she had the wolf gene in her. She would be confused, and she would be with the humans.” Sheila ranted, standing up to her feet.
“We need to get to England now!” She screamed, glaring at Aiden when he commanded the dining door shut.
“What are you doing? We have to get her today!” She shouted. Derek nodded, in support of that.
“Be calm, Sheila. Freya has something to say.”
Sheila’s eyes softened when they landed on her second daughter.
“What is it, my dear?”” She asked.
Freya sighed. “I think we should not be hasty. After all Emma is with the squirrel, Prescott. He wouldn’t let anything happen to her.”
Shiela furrowed her eyebrows, wondering how a squirrel would be of help to her daughter.
“He is not an ordinary squirrel, mom. He has magic like us.” Freya supplied, seeing the grimace on her mother’s face.
“And you are sure that it will keep Emma safe?” Sheila asked, already walking back to her seat. She trusted her daughter’s answer.
“Yes, I am sure that Prescott would do anything in his power to keep her safe. Don’t worry, I will tell you about him soon. You will see why you can trust him.” Freya concluded, taking back her seat, happy that she had calmed her mother, but unable to quench the worry nagging her at the thought of Emma going through her transition alone.
