Without preamble, Dobah laid his right thumb and index finger on the forehead of Fayot, not bothering to shut his eyes like the crowd had imagined that he would.
After a few minutes, not even up to five, he released his hand from the forehead of an open eyed Fayot who had been expecting some zap of electricity over him to tell him of the magic but feeling nothing.
“He is not working for Leonarya or Arnold. But he is working for someone else. Lagardo, alpha of white sted pack. He is here to get the exact location of the cave of baresis. Seems Legardo doesn’t trust Arnold to get the job quickly heh?” Dobah said, turning around to face Aiden and his brother, Julius.
“If I am not to be mistaken, Legardo is the alpha you told us about, that had met the prince, seeking for his help to wage a war against this pack, so that we could have the cave, and he could have the territory-right?”
Aiden nodded. “The prince had sent me here to know if there was really a cave of baresis, and to know about the people here. And honestly, I wouldn’t have cared if this pack was attacked, seeing that they ousted my mate’s sister, but then, I am not sure again. We have not given our final report to the prince. We will do that after this meeting, so that he would know what next step to take concerning Legardo.” Aiden replied, sending shocking waves across the pack and its rulers.
Peter, for one, was aghast. Emma had saved them again. If not for her presence in this pack, who knows what would have happened?
Agrip shook his head, and glared at Derek who dunked his head.
Derek could understand now why Aiden had become their history professor, and his earlier grudges against the man.
“So, did you find the cave?” Dobah asked Aiden.
“Not yet.” Aiden replied, looking at Fayot who shook his head.
“So, , I assume that only the alpha’s family knows where the cave is, right?” Dobah asked, and Peter nodded his head.
“I see. That must be one of the reasons why Leonarya had commissioned the beast to possess Derek. Apart from scattering the pack, he could lead them to the cave. Nicely played by the black witch if I am to say.” Kane pipped in, having analysed the situations.
“So, it can be said then that Emma saved both you and the pack, right?”
Derek had nothing to say to Kane’s uncomfortable question. His parents and the rest of the pack too. They had messed up, and they knew it.
“So, why are you working for Legardo, Fayot? According to the tales here, he is working with Arnold and Leonarya. Why working with people that had wronged this pack?”
“Why working with people that had killed our parents?”
Blenda had asked the first question, and Lent had deemed it fit to chip in his. He couldn’t believe that his cousin would want to do anything with people that had killed their relatives.
If anything, Fayot should be plotting a revenge, not a dinner party with them.
“Legardo was not part of the plan, well, at least the Legardo leading the pack…” Fayot stated, causing furrowed lines to appear on the faces of the people.
“What do you mean by that statement?” Sheila asked.
Of course she knew Legardo. They had crossed paths after all. The man was leechy and disgusting; someone who didn’t care or value the mate bond. Someone who had attempted to sleep with her once. He was also damn cunny.
Fayot inhaled deeply. He had promised the Legardo that he wouldn’t share this secret, but now seeing his cousin looking at him like that, he wasn’t sure he wanted to keep the secret again-even though the man had promised him death if he should ever reveal this.
“I might die if I say this. According to the Legardo, he will make sure I don’t live if I expose this secret.”
Fayot inhaled deeply again. This might be his last breath.
“The current Legardo on the throne isn’t the previous Legardo. The new one had killed the old one. I don’t know who he is, but he always wear a mask. I believed him because he could communicate with me through the mind path slotted only for this pack. Turns out he is actually from this pack.” Fayot started, pausing when murmurs began to flood the pack.
It was expected.
He had been shocked too when the man had met him during one of his city tours and had introduced himself as a brother, who was set to avenge the lives of the members of the pack who had been killed.
“And no, it isn’t Leo. The man doesn’t have the build of Leo, and whilst I was taking command from him, Leo was right here in the pack. But I can say, that Leo is a relative to the old Legardo. As a matter of fact Leo is his first son. I’m just not sure of which mother. I have heard a lot of rumours about the old Legardo.” Fayot mentioned, causing an increase in murmurs.
Shock reverberated through the crowd. Derek and Anthony remained unmoving, not believing what Fayot was spilling from his mouth.
Does that confirm the fact that Leo was a spy all this while?
Fayot was still speaking though. “Leo isn’t a spy either. According to the people in the pack, he had a fallout with his father, and had left the pack, never to return, until his brother had returned to attack the pack two nights ago. Yes, the prisoner we had captured was Leo’s brother. From another mother, I think, since they look nothing alike. And I believe the reason why Leo had set him free was because of the blood oath. When the man was drunk, he can speak a lot. He talked about this, a lot of times, wondering when he would utilize it. He isn’t a fan of Leo either. There is a younger brother too. The youngest and a girl. Her name is Penny. She is the one that is betrothed to Curtis. Yes, she was a spy sent by Legardo. The children of course don’t know that their father isn’t Legardo. I still don’t know why he told me this. Well, Penny confided in me the last two nights who her mate is. Surprisingly, her mate is in this pack.”
Fayot paused, his eyes landing on a familiar figure, a short smile on his lips.
