CHAPTER 494: A LONG MEETING XVI

“So is there another painting? Please think hard.” Blenda inquired, immediately Aiden and Julius stepped inside the pack meeting hall after doing away with the second doll.
“Not at all. Those were the only stuff he had given us.” Peter mentioned, lines stretched across his forehead as he deliberated on the hundred percent accuracy of his statement.
“Good thing he was stingy then.” Kane muttered, and Yodah chuckled, together with the rest, nodding their heads.
It was good that Arnold was stingy, if not they would have spent the whole day ousting spy demons, and of course Kane didn’t think Freya might be up for it. There was a limit to the amount of magic a mage can use in a period of time. Magic drains them of strength.
Peter shrugged at Kane’s snide statement, actually seeing the trueness of it. It was good that Arnold hadn’t been generous no matter how much he had hoped for it. All the dude had cared about was his mate, Melvina’s pancakes. (Author here: hehehehe)
“Okay, then. Since all that has been sorted out, can all the warriors that had been exchanged with the neighboring pack come out? Wait, are the other warriors here too, you know from Arnold’s pack?” Blenda asked, her question resonating in the mind of Sheila, triggering alarm bells; bells that were stopped when Curtis spoke.
“Not at all. They all went back with my father. I am the only one of my pack still here.” He said, getting the attention of Sheila on him, just like he wanted.
He had watched the relationship between the woman and his sister, and yearned for the same. From the information that he had gotten, he had been missing out.
All these has been happening, and he had been fooling away in his father’s pack, hating on his cousin’s family? He was really dumb.
It was good that he had chosen to stay back for a day or two before heading back to his own pack. If not, how could he have known of this juicy gist? How could he have known or had seen these ancients that he had read of in one of the books in his father’s study? How could he have met Emma’s third sister, who like the others, was damn beautiful.
He still wondered why the goddess hadn’t blessed him with one of them, instead of hooking him up with a female that was only interested in Derek.
Speaking of the female, his eyes left Sheila to land on Claire who was staring at him with an open mouth and widened eyes. He knew that she now knew who he was, who her mate really was.
He watched her mouth ‘I am sorry’, and almost hissed but for the fact he had people’s attention. However, he took his eyes off her and returned to Sheila who was staring at him in disbelief.
Did his aunt think that he was lying or was she thinking that he shouldn’t be here, or that he was like his father?
Well, he wouldn’t blame her. He had been like his father for a while.
He caught his sister’s eyes then. Maya was staring at him and Claire.
That sharp witted crook! Has she discovered it already? He wouldn’t put it past her. She was very clever.
“You are Arnold’s son?” Sheila asked Curtis, not believing that all this while they had been discussing these important details, that Arnold’s son had been here.
She turned to Maya as she asked this question, asking with her eyes if the dude was right.
“Yes, he is my brother. My younger brother.” Maya said out aloud, reading off the question from Sheila’s eyes. She bit her lip as she watched Sheila sigh disappointedly, as she heard the murmurs begin in the crowd again.
Curtis opened his mouth to defend himself and his integrity but Derek beat him to it.
“Curtis is to be trusted.” Derek stated simply, before going ahead to call out all the warriors that had been sent to his uncle’s pack.

When Leonarya heard that the mirror was black, she shook her head, not believing for one minute what Legardo was saying.
“But that is impossible. They couldn’t have had control over the demons. Give me a few minutes, let me know what is actually wrong.” She pleaded, as she stood up from her seat and ran out of the meeting room to her private loft which was adjacent to the meeting room.
When she got to the room and then proceeded to the inner camber hidden behind the curtain and the walls, she went straight to the concrete basin, and peered into it, chanting words as she looked keenly into it, hoping that the demons would come up and tell her why they weren’t obeying their masters, to know if they had need for blood even though their specified time for sacrifice hadn’t come.
She kept on the chant for some minutes, and seeing no result, fell to the ground. How did this happen?
“My queen..”
She heard Kyran’s voice in her room, and quickly stood up from the floor, dusted off her bottoms and strolled out of the chambers.
“Are you okay my queen? King Legardo is asking for you.” Kyran mentioned, paving away when he saw that Leonarya was heading straight for him without blinking her eyes.
He concluded that she was in one of those fearful moments, just before she fries some unfortunate servant of hers if the latter steps on her nerves. He didn’t want that to be him.
Leonarya never gave an indication that she had heard Kyran speak, rather her thoughts were on how the black moon pack had gotten rid of the demons.
She had prolonged checking on the demons after the party because she had wanted a double dose of good news. She had wanted to call on them when she was sure that Peter would be dead. But now how would she do that? Did Peter survive?
“So Leonarya, what happened? Have we been discovered?” Legardo asked, immediately Leonarya stepped into the meeting room.
“Yes, we have…unfortunately.” She replied, sliding her bottom gracefully in one of the chairs surrounding the large oak table.
