CHAPTER 455: RESTLESS II

Claire mused, bringing up her knees such that her jaw rested on them, whilst she thought on how to outbeat Emma.
The more she thought about it, the more she was aggrieved.
Was there no way to get rid of the latter for good? She thought, exhaling hotly. Well, the best strategy in her mind now was to keep Derek from going to her. And what better way than to create a love potion.
That was one fall of werewolves. Magic works on them, just as it could work on vampires, and that was why witches were hard to accept. Their magic could be disastrous.
Well, this time she would use it in her favour. She had come across the love potion in one of the books that she had stolen from the pack’s archives, during the first time of the shadow warriors attack. In uncertainty, the readers had opened the archive, looking for answers on what the creature was, and that had been when she had snuck into there, clothed with her magic such that they couldn’t see her, something that she hadn’t learnt from anywhere.
She had only wished that she became invisible and that had happened the way she had wanted it. And about how she had known of the shadow warriors and was able to warn off her brother, she was also in the dark too. She only knew that she had seen some dream which for the life of her, she couldn’t remember till date, but she was sure, deep in her guts, that whatever knowledge she had on those creatures had been from there.
In the archives, she had seen three magic books, down the pile, all dusty and muddy, and she had taken them. She didn’t know how a spell book had gotten to the archives of werewolves but she didn’t care. She was only glad that her instincts had been right again, and surprisingly her wolf wasn’t against her using her magic, only that it was against her fanning over Derek and swallowing her mother’s words hook, line and sinker.
But before she had her wolf, she had her mother. Her mother would always come first. The latter had always had her back.
Sitting down there, Claire thought about how long it would take to make the love potion. Her mother was already making arrangements of some herbs that she would need. Yes, she had also told her mother about it, and was the woman so excited!
It just depended on her to perfect the spell, and then Derek would be under her control, would love her more than anyone in the world, including his family. The thought made her giddy and wet.
She couldn’t wait, but she had to. Her mother had said that it would take up to two weeks to get the kind of herbs that the book had specified.
Claire only had to hope and pray that Emma doesn’t come back, or Derek doesn’t go to find her till then. Although, she was sure that Alpha Arnold wouldn’t let that happen. She didn’t care why and how he would do it, she only wanted him to be successful.
“… and successful he shall be..’ she muttered, jerking up her head when the scent of her mate assailed her nostrils.
Quickly, she stood up from the base of the tree and looked around hoping to catch a glimpse of his face since it was a full moon, but she didn’t see anyone.
The smell was fading too.
No! She had to find him. She was curious about who he was. Could he be handsome?
Hurriedly, she walked along the paths of the garden, her senses highly attuned to the environment but she saw nothing.
Had it been a figment of her imagination? She thought, chuckling sadly . Was her mind now playing tricks on her? She thought, strolling out of the garden.
She paused in her movements as she saw someone running toward the Alpha house, and immediately she followed, forgetting that she was still in her night dress. Well, she was too keen on the pursuit, and the thought didn’t cross her mind.
She followed the path she thought the unknown person, most likely her mate, had gone through, but came up with nothing.
Looking around her, she sighed out tiredly, before turning around and walking out of the Alpha’s side corridor.
Perhaps sleep was catching up with her, and her mind was beginning to play tricks on her. She thought, walking towards their own house which was closest to the Alpha’s domain.
As she walked away, she knew that she was being watched out, and immediately invoked the invisibility spell. But despite being invisible, the feeling won’t go away.
She also discovered that her mate’s scent was getting fainter as she walked farther away from the house. Could her mate be in there? She thought, doing a mind count of every occupant of the Alpha’s house. The only male she could think of was Derek and Anthony, since the cousin, Curtis had left with the father back to their own pack.
Could Anthony then be her mate? She thought, stopping on her tracks, her eyes widening at the realization. If Anthony was her mate, then there might be a problem. Her plans could cause trouble between the siblings if she went ahead with the love potion.
Thinking of Anthony as she bit her lip slowly, made her blush a little. After all, he had been her first crush. He was also as handsome as Derek, just that he wasn’t Alpha.
But he could be! She thought, a smile slithering across her lips. He was still the Alpha’s son, adopted or not.
So, If by chance Derek disappears from the seat, he would be the one to rule.
The thought made her giddy for the second time that night, propelling her to run into her room, not caring that her wolf had not said a word to her about her thoughts.
She couldn’t wait for the day to break. She had to talk to her mother. Anthony was her mate!
