CHAPTER 441: SCALLYWAGS

Seeing the airplane run across the track and leap to the skies, Freya bit her lips such that it hurt, but grateful for Aiden’s warmth around her.
“Why won’t she listen to me? Why hadn’t she listened to me?” She asked rhetorically, eyes still on the flying airplane. She could have joined the flight if she wanted to, since she wasn’t a human, but she respected Emma’s decisions no matter how much it pained her to do so. She still couldn’t grasp why she felt this strongly about someone she had just met yesterday.
“You both are probably twins.” Aiden replied, tightening his hold on Freya’s arms like she would disappear the next minute.
Freya shifted and shrugged off his arms around her, piquing her eyebrows at him. “Are you trying to grip to death?” She asked, unable to stop the teasing smile that slid across her lips.
“How could I?” Aiden jived back, smiling down at her before dropping a kiss on her forehead, not minding the gawking looks they were receiving from the passersby at the airport.
“Eisshhh…let’s go. Julius and Yodah will be waiting.” Freya mentioned, scrunching her nose and pouting her mouth when she noticed the looks they were getting from people. The women especially were gaping at Aiden with dreamy eyes. She felt like stuffing him into her front pocket of her black shorts so that the women wouldn’t be able to see him.
“You can still do that. I can turn to an ant, anything to suit your purposes, my lady…” Aiden said with a bow, causing Freya to laugh out loud. She wasn’t surprised that he had known what was going on in her head. He was in her mind after all.
“C’mon big man, Let’s go before that woman over there rushed you.” Freya cited, pointing at a lady by their three o’clock whose mouth was slightly opened as she gawked at Aiden as if entranced.
Aiden glimpsed at the woman in question and then scoffed.
Placing his hand on Freya’s waist, he stirred them both away from the eyes of straying women and the bodies of strangers until they got to the exit terminal.
On getting there, they were surprised to see Yodah and Julius standing lazily by one of the pillars, looking right at them.
“Shouldn’t you two be guarding the house?” Freya asked as she walked up to them with Aiden.
“We were until the Alpha boy came around and asked us to leave the pack.” Julius answered with a shrug of his shoulders for he wasn’t in the least bothered by it.
“That impudent idiot!” Freya cursed, gritting her teeth. “Shouldn’t he be feeling remorseful? Are you sure they are mates?” She asked, darting her eyes between the three men around her.
“Yes. They are mates. He must have had his reason for acting that stupidly.” Aiden mentioned, but Freya scoffed.
“That’s not a good excuse.” She muttered. “He is just a coward, that couldn’t man up as he should.”
“Freya, I think Aiden is right. Even though he had sent us away from the pack environment, I could tell he was feeling every bit of sorrow for sending away his mate.” Yodah pointed out, whilst Julius nodded in support.
“Something strong must have made him send her away. Could it be that he thought he was protecting her in his own stupid way?” Julius queried, now deliberating on the issue for the first time.
“Probably. We need to find out.” Freya muttered, remembering her promise to Emma. She would do her own research so that they could connect uneven dots together.
Aiden sighed, seeing the determined look on his lifemate’s face. It was obvious to him that she had taken the matter in her hands to find out what had really happened that night and if the black witch, Leonarya, had anything to do with it. Whatever though, he would always be there for her, no matter what. She was his life’s colour after all.
“Let’s go then. We can stay at my house for the time being since it’s outside but a bit close to the pack environs. There, we can resolve on how you and Yodah would transfer to the school, and how I would approach the issue of the cave’s treasures with the Alpha of the white sted pack.” Aiden decided, satisfied later with the sharp nods from his brother and Yodah.
But as they walked collectively outside the airport, they met with a sight to behold.
There, in front of the taxi who had brought Emma to the airport, was Yodah’s parents and his uncle, Kane.
Aiden and Julius swallowed their spittle in anticipation, whilst Yodah and Freya held hands together, forgetting for a minute that Aiden was quite possessive.
Blenda, Yodah’s mother, was the first to make a move between the two parties.
She dashed speedily, holding her stomach gingerly, to the group, and hugged Freya first to herself.
“Aunt, I’m sorry…” Freya was muttering, but Blenda placed a finger on Freya’s lips after their embrace was over.
“Silly girl…it’s okay. I’m just happy that you are alright.” Blenda stated, before turning aside to face her son.
“You…!” She shouted, dropping a heavy knock on his head. “You were supposed to be the older one!” She shouted, and getting no response from a guilty Yodah whose head was bent low, she wrapped her hands around him and hugged him to herself. “Thank you for staying alive.” She whispered into his ears, before letting him go.
Stepping back a bit, her eyes flickered to Aiden and Julius who stood still, also watching her.
“Who are you two?” She asked them carefully, aware that the both were of the same kind as her lifemate. She was also aware that her lifemate and Kane was now right behind her.
“They are the two scallywags I told you about!” Kane said in a raised voice, causing Freya and Yodah to let out a chuckle in the midst of the serious situation.
