Emma hissed, watching Melvina’s mouth drop open in shock.
Why was the woman surprised? She thought, staring at both her and her mate in disdain.
Whatever it was, she was sure that Derek wouldn’t have done this, without their consent. So, why was she acting like she wqs surprised by her anger, or angry words?
‘Damn me for thinking that she has been good! Hypocrites!’ She screamed in her head, feeling more confident with the presence of the vampires behind and beside her. Although it didn’t daunt the fact that she thought them wicked for feeding on human blood, she was still appreciative to them for standing with her, together with Prescott.
Seeing Derek still mute, looking all beaten down and trodden, she smiled bitterly. She would make him pay. She promised him, sending the message through their private link.
And when his eyes widened a bit, having read her message, he shifted on his feet, forcefully pushing his hands into his pockets.
Emma knew he was frustrated, but she didn’t care at that point.
He would soon understand the meaning of the popular statement: ‘Hell hath no fury than a woman who is scorned.’
Claire watched the silent communication going between Emma and Derek, and balled her fists.
Of course, she knew that she wasn’t his mate, after all her own mate was somewhere around here, perhaps watching her act bitchy to another.
But she didn’t care.
Derek was hers. The Luna-ship was hers too. She wasn’t going to leave it in the hands of a hot headed human.
No. Never.
She also didn’t believe the farce that Emma was Derek’s mate. So why should the human make a declaration such as that, like they were? Was she trying to guilt trip Derek? No, she wouldn’t let that happen.
“If you’re done talking gibberish, leave us human.” She stated, sneering at Emma who scoffed, like she was some pest. It angered her so greatly, that she wanted to react, wanted to give the latter a hot blinding slap, but for her delicate position at the moment. She was to be self controlled as a Luna, not easily tempered especially by a stupid human. And there was the fact that Derek might react negatively to her if she went ahead with the reaction.
So, she struggled and successfully kept her calm, but rather, she decided to stick to humiliating the human more.
“Derek, I’m still waiting for your reply. You were talking, and running your mouth like a sewage now huh? What is stopping you from saying that you understand my terms!” Emma said, her voice rising steadily, her hand still entangled in Freya’s.
Derek opened his mouth to say something, then shut it.
Claire, noting this, knew then that Emma hadn’t been just a fling to Derek, but possibly his mate.
She felt angered at the moon goddess for this cruelty, but smiled evilly on the outside. She would make sure that they never happened. She was going to be a Luna, and nobody would ever stop that. She already had the witch as a partner. Very soon, she would have more.
“He doesn’t need to waste his breath on a whore like you. So, get your things and scam away like a dog you are.” She suggested to Emma, whose gaze turned wicked at that moment.
And for some reason, her wolf shrinked in fear.
Her mouth fell open, unknowingly to her, when she saw Emma’s eyes switch from green to golden. What the hell was happening? She thought, but before she could ruminate on that, she felt a strong force pull her up from her feet and fling her strongly to the other end of the hall.
A bone was broken.
She was sure, lying down there, at the far end of the hall like a corpse, unable to lift up even her leg.
She felt drowsy and very weak, and with her eyes slightly open, tethering on closure, she could see her mother shouting, but not hear her talking, her ears were humming with a dinging sound. She could also see that no one was coming to help her, not even her twin.
But before she closed her eyes, she was sure that someone had come and looked down on her, someone with the sweetest scent she had ever perceived. Someone she had rejected.

“This is your last chance. If you mess this up, I will feed your flesh to the dogs. Understood?” Leonarya asked Casper who nodded frantically, grateful for another chance to live.
And although he wondered how he was going to be successful in this mission, seeing that a vampire was involved, he didn’t cower or let his fear show on his face. If worse comes to worse, he will run away from the region forever, perhaps go to Africa, where no one would ever think of searching for him.
“Good. Pick some twenty wizards with you. Twenty strong wizards. And don’t fail or think of failing.” She emphasized, stepping elegantly towards her black throne.
“Yes, my Queen.” Casper replied, before bowing, and walking out of the palace in the company of Kyran who patted him on his shoulders as they strolled away.
Leonarya breathed in deeply, watching them leave.
Soon. She chanted to herself.
Soon, she would have one of the strongest beings that had ever lived under her command.
Ohhhh. She couldn’t wait for this awesome reality to happen.
She praised herself for being smart enough to contact the young witch, promising the redemption of her aunt if she worked with her. The girl had complied without much struggle, obviously valuing her aunt over the much protected prophecy.
So foolish of her though. Leonarya thought, smiling sinisterly. She had no intention of letting Margo go. Never. Not until her victories had been established.
She inhaled in deeply, basking in unseen victory.
She would start with conquering her mother’s palace first, then she would move to conquering the wolves nation.
Oh, she couldn’t wait. She thought, rubbing her hands on each other, her eyes shut.
They should all prepare.
She was coming for them all.
