Emma remembered that they had floated in the air within the rolling ball shield, smirking and laughing when the mean werewolves and mages had tried to penetrate it but to no avail.
“Julius had said that he had felt his brother’s aura within you. How is that possible?” She had asked, as the ball had led them under the direction of Ava to a hall located on the southern wing of the pack.
“I don’t know.” Prescott had replied sincerely. It seemed he too, had been surprised too by Julius’ statement.
“I will ask him about that later.” He had stated, with a shrug.
And before they had taken the last bend that had taken them to the hall, she had looked back for the last time, sighing as she had seen the bodies of dead wolves and mages on the ground. She had also seen Julius zap down to the ground in his normal physical self, posing himself in a duel stance with the large werewolf. The blue dragon had been flying still. And as she had drank the scenery in, she had remembered her dreams, and had wondered if she would be able to stay here as Derek’s girlfriend, mate or whatever.
This hadn’t been the way she had planned her life.
The thought had still been prevalent in her mind as she had stepped into the hall, her hand entangled with Ava who had still chosen to carry Prescott in her arms.
“Yeah. It really is.” Ava replied sadly, letting her eyes wander around the outer environs of the hall. Only the dead surrounded them. She was happy that she wasn’t seeing any familiar faces.
They were at the entrance of the hall.
“Let’s go in then. Since Derek and the others weren’t in the fight outside, they should be inside the hall.” Emma said, and Ava nodded in agreement.
Together, they walked, hand in hand, into the interior of the hallway, admiring the decorations as they walked through it. There were still some dead fellows at some points in the hallway.
The fight had gotten into the party. Emma thought, feeling sorry for Derek.
She would go berserk if this had happened in her own party. Like what the fudge!
When they broke out into the main hall, Emma first noticed the glittering long chandeliers before she let her eyes wander to the dead bodies in front of her. They were so much that she had to find a space to put her next step on.
And when she had done so, she noticed the people in the room who were all staring at her.
Her eyes ran through the whole lot of them, stopping as they came in contact with that of a girl who was standing near Maya.
“What the hell! Who is that?” She heard Ava speak and shrugged her shoulders, her temper already rising as she wondered if the girl was an imposter who had come to take Derek away from her.
Talking about Derek? Where was he? She thought, letting her eyes run through the lot. No Derek. Just an ugly beast which was facing Aiden. But the professor was looking at her.
For some reason, she thought that the huge beast looked familiar but she cut it off. No way was she familiar with that ugly creature. She was sure it was one of Leonarya’s servant, and she believed that Aiden could finish it off with just a wave of his hands, since he was also a vampire like Julius.
“Professor, shouldn’t you be facing the beast, and not me?” She asked telepathically, stepping closer to them, smiling as she saw him thin his eyebrows.
“How do you communicate with me?” He queried, and she shrugged, bypassing a staring Leo whom she didn’t really know much about and stopping her movements when she got to Clem and Shane.
“Where’s Derek?” She asked out aloud, unaware that the beast had turned around sharply at her voice.
They gave her no reply.
She furrowed her eyebrows, worrying arising from feelings within her, diluting the anger which she had been feeling towards the strange girl who looked so much like her, the girl who was staring at her with an open mouth.
Let her find Derek first. She thought. Then she would come for the strange girl later. The girl would explain why she had thought it was necessary to look like her in this party. Was she another Leonarya’s experiment? This made her more curious about meeting the evil witch whose name she had gotten tired of hearing.
“Why are you guys not answering?” She asked, turning aside to face Ava whom she had felt tapping her arm a while ago.
“What is the problem?” She asked, seeing the look of dread in the girl’s eyes. The dread was enough to put some into her eyes too. She noticed that the squirrel was looking at something ahead with wide eyes.
“Don’t look!” She heard him say, and almost scoffed.
Don’t look?
What kind of command was that? And since when did he start to give her orders? She thought, stubbornly turning to look ahead, gasping the next minute when her eyes met the gaze of the beast. It was staring at her in awe, like she was some treasure. But that hadn’t been the reason why she had been shocked out of her bones. The beast had blue eyes. Deep blue eyes. The type which she knew that only one person in her life had. Derek.
Her dream had been real.

“What did you say?” Lucille heard Tyler ask the woman, as he jumped up speedily from the sofa, and shuddered.
The woman was in trouble. She had to get her out of here.
Immediately, she stood from the chair before she could stop herself, and walked to the woman.
“You have to go. I think you got the wrong person.. my stepfather isn’t really a person to toy with. He hates it as a matter of fact.” She stated, placing her hand on the woman’s arm, hoping to coax her into standing up.
But the woman shrugged her off.
“I’m not going without you.” She said, in a soft tone, meeting her gaze.
But before Lucille could refute the woman, Tyler pushed her away roughly.
She landed on the floor with a sprained ankle.
But that wasn’t her problem.
The woman!
Quickly, she got up on the floor where she had landed, ignoring the pain that assailed her body at that sudden movement, turning around, but pausing and gasping when she saw her stepfather’s head under the woman’s armpit. She locked him?!
What the hell? How did that happen? She thought, glancing at Maryanne whose mouth was opened in shock.
