“Bloodugering Hell! Ava, it looks worse in here!” Emma noted, stepping tentatively into the biggest hall she had ever been in, her mind reeling to the series of events that she had seen just in the name of a birthday party. This must be the worst birthday party ever. She thought.
When she had been approaching the pack environs in the company of Julius and Ava after the episode with Casper and his fellow wizards, the first thing that had caught her eye was the beautiful flying dark blue dragon, the type that was seen in the ‘Merlin movie series’. She had paused in her movement, mouth agape, watching in wonder as the dragon spat fire to whomever might have triggered its wrath, pitying whomever it was, feeling drawn into the movie proper, until Ava had shouted.
Immediately, as if her senses had been recalled by an invisible force, her mind had returned back to reality and she had been able to process that the dragon was spitting fire on Melvina’s estate, or rather the pack. Derek was in trouble.
Seeing a tear roll down from Ava’s eyes increased her worry. She had known that a huge fight was going on within the pack. Her eyebrows had knitted in a frown when she had seen Julius holding back Ava who had been trying to run off into the pack.
Why was the dude stopping her? She had thought. Didn’t he know what was going on?
His next statement had answered her questions and had made her admire the dragon again.
“Calm down. The dragon is Yodah, one of my kind. He is fighting for your pack.” He had said, and she had nodded, pushing down the eerie feeling which had risen because if the knowledge that she had been communicating with vampires.
So, together, they had trodden through the grassy pathway till they had burst out into the entrance.
Although Emma had known that a huge fight had been going on, her mind hadn’t been prepared to see the commotion itself, or the number of wolves, dead and alive. There were others, humans; Julius had mentioned that they were mages(witches and wizards) which had been sent by the evil witch, Leonarya.
And when these beings had noticed their entrance, there had been a huge break in time, as they had all stopped fighting to look at them.
Immediately, Julius had stood before Ava and she, ready to fight. She had opened her mouth to tell the vampire that she was strong enough to fight, but the grunting of a large wolf nearby had stolen her words. The wolf was huge, a bit larger than the others, and it had been glaring at her. She had been sure of it.
She had shrank back to Julius’ side forgetting her statement, when the wolf had started marching towards them, or rather her, to be specific. For she had noticed that the mages and the mean looking ugly werewolves had been staring at her, other than her two companions. For some reason, she had known that they were after her. They had wanted to capture her. It had terrified her then.
She had sighed in relief, when Julius had, whatever it was that he had done, but the wolf had been flung to the other side of the large field. Although not dead, that she had been able to see in a few seconds when the wolf had grunted and leaped back to its feet like a tiger, she had been glad that it had been cut off from the nearness to her sight.
“I will have to change to a dragon like my kind up there.” Julius had stated, and her panic had mirrored Ava’s who had been holding tightly to Julius’arm.
“What about us?” She had asked, forgetting that Prescott had been with them all these while, and wasn’t just an ordinary squirrel or pet, until Julius’ next statement.
“The squirrel will protect you guys. For some reason, my brother’s blood flows in him…” he had muttered, staring down at Prescott who had gaped in surprise in Ava’s arms.
“You must be joking… it’s a squirrel, not a vampire!” Ava had almost screamed, and she had sighed, grateful as she had turned back to take a look frightfully, of the pack warriors which had been fighting off the mages and werewolves that had been coming towards them. It was like they had been the center of attack.
“A squirrel, yes. But it is not ordinary. Emma knows this. She would tell you all about it better. But I’m sure that the squirrel can protect you guys. I have to go now, and fight from up there. That way I would protect you guys more and kill some bad wolves more. Okay?” He had stated, staring deep into Ava’s teary eyes, lifting up his hand to caress the brunette’s cheeks softly.
She had sighed for the second time again.
This hadn’t been the time to go all mushy.
She had told them then.
“Ava, he is right. The squirrel is my protector. His name is Prescott. Queen Zipfarah had sent him with me.” She had said, smiling a bit as she had seen the shock that had metamorphosed on Ava’s face. A face that had soon bent low, to check out the squirrel, which had immediately jumped off from her hands to the grassy ground, his arms across his chest, ready for war.
“What the hell! Why didn’t you tell me?” Ava had asked, unaware that Julius had already left them to the sky in a zap. He had turned as he jumped. Emma had thought that it was the one of the most beautiful things she had seen.
“What are you look…” Ava had been about to ask, before her eyes had caught also, the wonderful shift.
“He is beautiful right?” The girl had asked her and she had nodded.
“We have to be going.” She had heard Prescott say, and had gestured to Ava, by waving her hand in front of the latter’s eyes which had seemed glued to the spectacle that Julius had been creating. He had been spitting fire then.
“Can he talk?” Ava had asked, noting that Prescott’s mouth had been moving for a while, after getting back to the reality of things.
“Yes. He was just saying that he would create a shield around us so that the others won’t have access to us, until we get to the hall where the party is going on.” She had replied, smiling at a then shocked Ava.
“Wow…” Ava had muttered, watching in amazement as Prescott had created a mighty shield all around them, such that they had seemed to be in a ball, a rolling ball.
