CHAPTER 341: DEREK’S PARTY XVIII

Immediately, the opposing werewolf threw in the challenge, Derek and his people took up the fighting stance, some already shifting into their werewolf forms. Derek debated on whether he should do the same, remembering his mother’s words.
What if Anthony’s power does not work on the beast, since there might be some blood loss in the hall? What happens then?
“Calm down.” Anthony said to him through the mind link.
“I won’t let that beast take control, and cause more harm than good.” He promised, shifting to his own wolf.
With the assurance procured by Anthony’s words, Derek allowed Maru to take over, the same time as the opposing werewolf shifted to his wolf version.
The only people in their physical forms were the mages and Aiden, Freya and Yodah.
“Time to play.” Aiden mentioned, tackling the first wizard which had attempted to throw a ball of fire at his lifemate. He lifted up the wizard with just a flip of his hand, and choked him to death, all in the space of ten seconds. The other mages drew back as a result of this, annoying the opposing werewolf.
He howled an attack formation to his fellow wolves, pronouncing a joint attack on the vampires first, leaving Derek and cohorts to the mages.
And so, the fight began.
Derek, now in his wolf form, cut across various wizards, slashing and biting off their heads, or leaving the rest for the lesser warriors to consume.
His target was the opposing werewolf. He wanted to kill him so badly.
Maya and Leo, fought as a couple they were, a bystander might think they were playing a love dance with the wizards who before they could utter a spell, or fling their hand, had their head cut off, or hands following the same fate.
There was blood everywhere.
As she fought, she reached out to her younger brother, Curtis.
“Curtis, where are you? Are you safe?” She asked, jumping up to snatch out the head off the neck of a witch whom Leo had thrown over to her side.
She hissed out the flesh from her teeth, praising Sia for the work well done. She had missed fighting.
“I’m fine. There are so many of them out here.” She heard him say, and sighed in relief that at least nothing had happened to him.
“Where are you?” She asked, coming face to face with a werewolf from the opposing side, a female werewolve. She was sure about that.
They pranced around themselves as in a dance waiting for who would strike first.
Then, she drew back in her heel and leaped at the shewolf who had done the same, but a second too late.
Maya pounced on her, and the biting and tearing began.
The shewolf managed to leave scratches on her belly and lower limbs, but she had the upper hand, handling it by the neck. In some minutes, she snapped and chopped off the neck, brimming in happiness when she heard Leo praise her.
“You are really the best. I was a fool not knowing that.” He had said, moving closer to her.
They rubbed their furs on each other, breaking apart when they heard Clem’s scoff.
“Like seriously? We are in battle, and you two are planning to mate?” He questioned, dodging the ball of fire which a wizard had thrown toward him.
Jealousy could be heard in his voice; jealousy that Maya took note of, but refused to ruminate on.
Was he still in love with her? She thought, remembering their younger days, as she walked away from Leo to intercept a witch who was approaching Freya from the back.
A snap of the neck, and Freya turned around, her eyes wide, her face flushed, smiling as she saw the big white wolf approaching her. She knew who it was. Her new friend. Maya.
Knowing that she could communicate with all animals, she tried to see if it would be the same with the wolf now close to her.
She can’t communicate with the human version quite alright, but she could try the animal version.
“Maya…?” She queried telepathically, waiting for a confirmation of her thoughts.
“I can hear you. That’s…surprising.” Maya replied, thoroughly amazed as she let the vampire touch her furs.
“Since you can do this, can you tell my cousin, Derek, that he should send some werewolves outside the pack. My brother believes that the opposers are much there.” She stated, grateful for Freya again. She had been thinking of ways she could communicate with Derek about the recent happenings since they were not from the same pack.
“Sure.” Freya said, before zooming past a werewolf, making sure she was under the radar of Aiden who was hanging in the air, close to the ceilings of the hall in the form of a huge dragon, executing fiery judgment against the wolves who had tried to leap on him and Yodah.
He had told her so, to avoid the earth experiencing the wrath of a mateless male of his kind.
Derek was almost close to the head of the opposing werewolf pack, when he heard a voice in his head. For a moment, he thought it was Emma, until he felt no stirring in his heart.
Who was that?
“It’s Freya. Maya got a message for you.” Freya said. She was in a form of mist now, zapping through the throng of wizards before getting to Derek.
He was the largest werewolf she had seen. Beautiful too. She thought, ignoring Aiden’s sharp grunt of disapproval.
“How is it that you can speak in my mind?” Derek asked, coming finally to stand before the opposing werewolf.
“Where are you?”
“Right beside you. I’m like a mist. About your first question, I can communicate with animals. So, I tried it with Maya, and it worked. So, you can see me as a messenger.” Freya answered, dodging the body of a werewolf which was flung by Shane.
“Oh, I see. What’s the message?” Derek asked, gratefulness underlying his voice. He didn’t know how the battle would look like if the vampires hadn’t been here. Aiden’s and Yodah’s recent shift was intriguing. Dragons?
Could they shift to just anything, including wolves? He thought, thinning his eyes as he remembered the feather they had seen in Emma’s room that night. Had the Professor visited his little witch?
Freya’s words broke him away from that disturbing thought.
