Nelson smoked quietly, his smile somewhat terrifying. “Actually, maybe I should let you have your way.”
Callie’s back went cold.
In the next second, Nelson grabbed her by the back of the neck again, positioning her as before. This time, he didn’t kiss her but brought the cigarette to her lips, forcing her to take it.
Callie felt like she was going crazy.
The cigarette Nelson smoked was strong. Callie choked, her throat burning, coughing so hard she couldn’t breathe, tears filling her eyes. Her graceful figure was evident in her movements.
Nelson wasn’t feeling much better. “Why don’t you continue?”
He didn’t give up on the idea of having her serve him. Callie didn’t expect it. Her soft hand rested on his leg, unsure about what to do next.
“Won’t Maevelyn be angry if she knows?” Callie tilted her head, reminding him.
If she didn’t move, Nelson’s desire remained unfulfilled. The cigarette was burning close to his fingers. He frowned. “She won’t know.”
“Won’t know, or won’t be angry even if she does?” Callie lay between his legs, her posture becoming softer. “She likes you so much. After you marry her, will she still not be angry if you keep me on the side?”
Her words were too sharp. Nelson’s eyes grew cold. “Testing me.”
Callie admitted it smoothly. “No need to test. The whole world knows the Oconnor family and the Ellison family will form a marriage alliance.”
Nelson didn’t confirm or deny it. He stubbed out the cigarette. “You’re different from her.”
“How?” Callie pressed. “Just because she’s a lady and I’m just an ordinary person?”
Nelson stared at her and then sneered. “You’re quite capable as an ordinary person.”
Callie’s gaze was alluring. “Have you slept with Maevelyn?”
She watched his face stiffen.
“Have you?” Callie had to admit, her heart skipped a beat when she asked.
But Nelson quickly denied it. “No.”
She was stunned, seeing from his expression that he wasn’t lying. She felt something subtle inside. “Are you keeping yourself pure for me.”
Callie always took advantage of situations. Nelson frowned and pulled her onto the sofa, pressing her down forcefully.
“You talk too much.”
In their entanglement, Callie always knew she couldn’t truly hate Nelson. He was both her childhood playmate and her guide in love.
At this moment, she tilted her head back, her neck slightly raised, looking indescribably enticing.
Nelson toyed with her earlobe absentmindedly. “Break up with Jamir.”
Callie didn’t respond. “Then don’t marry Maevelyn.”
As soon as she said it, she felt Nelson’s movements pause. For a moment, despair surged within her, but she suppressed it.
“If you don’t marry her, I’ll break up with Jamir.”
Nelson’s dark eyes revealed no emotion. He didn’t answer.
That was almost an answer in itself.
“Do even you need the power of a marriage alliance?” Callie sneered. “I thought you were omnipotent.”
“Callie.” Nelson released her, completely losing interest. “Don’t use up my patience with you. I’ll grow to hate you.”
Callie lay there motionless, staring blankly at the ceiling.
“If you get married, I’ll disappear completely.”
There weren’t many people in the world who dared to threaten Nelson; Callie was one of them.
He listened, then bent down to pick up his belt and walked out with it. “Then try it.”
A light and casual sentence, but it carried significant weight.
