Book:Arranged For The Cruel Alpha Published:2025-2-23

ANNABELLA’S POV
” So you mean I’m in a demon territory?” Madeline nodded hesitantly and I stared ahead at the two identical demons standing by the door.
Confusion burned in my eyes as I wondered what was going on.” Roman didn’t bring me here, did he?”
” The alpha is in the best position to explain everything to you.” She said and I nodded, trying so hard to stop myself from shedding a tear.
At this point, the only question ringing in my head was, why did Roman bring me here? Demons and werewolves have nothing in common. These creatures have been our enemies for ages and he left me here for what exactly?
” I don’t want to eat anything.” my voice was barely a whisper as I stood on my feet and walked over to the fixed window that gives a view of the outside world.
But the ground level was deeper and it felt like I was living in the sky.
” Don’t worry, lord Sage will never do anything to hurt alpha Roman.” I turned from the window with my hands crossed over my chest. ” Does that include me?” I tilted my head to the side, waiting for her reply, but it never came. Great, I was not included and why would I be included?
He was his grandfather, and who was I?
Perhaps a girl he purchased to give him an heir.
” And why aren’t you calling him lord Roman like like everyone else?” I asked and Madeline gave me the ‘ I’m sorry look’ as if that would change a thing.
He lied to me and hid his real identity from me, and why was that?
I felt like punching him in the face right at the moment.
” I will leave the food here in case you change your mind, and don’t forget to call me if you need anything.”
” Can you do me a favor and send those two with you?” I was still trying to get my head around everything.
Madeline turned to look at the two identical demons who looked harmless from the outside but I wouldn’t trust a demon for anything.” Lord Sage promised alpha Roman to take care of you…”
I growled, turning away from her.
I heard the clicking of the door, and I didn’t need to be told that the two demons at the door didn’t go with her because I could smell their presence.
What was going on?
Would I ever find out about him, his mixed bloodline if I hadn’t been here?
Maybe not.
I didn’t know what to think at the moment because everything was a lot to take in.
Roman was partly a demon; why was I just finding out?
I didn’t know how long I had been standing by the window, but I knew I didn’t want to spend the next few minutes here.
I refused to eat for the second time and I was glad Madeline didn’t force me. The guilt in her eyes never skipped me. I saw the worry each time we made eye contact but I was too mad to think straight.
I mean, it wasn’t in her place to tell me anything about Roman, but I couldn’t help it.
The fact that Roman didn’t trust me enough to tell me about himself makes me doubt all the good things I have experienced with him. I didn’t know which of my experiences with him was real.
Have been deceiving myself all this while?
With the moon gracing the room with its light through the open window, the room wasn’t as completely dark as it was supposed to be since the light was off.
A tear slipped from my eyes, but I was fast to clean it up.
Maybe I wasn’t as important as I thought I was to him.
I pushed my hair from my face, my eyes looking out at the sky from where I was sitting, on the huge bed.
The sound of the door made me aware that someone was coming in. The scent wasn’t familiar but it was no doubt another demon.
I growled inside as I never thought I would ever come face to face with a demon. Their existence was like a fairytale to us since they love hidden omg humans but I guess not anymore.
” Roman is trying to protect you.” He nodded the moment he met my eyes. ” And who are you?” He has the same hair color as Roman but longer and older.
” You are here because he didn’t have another option.” He added instead of replying to my question.
Did demons have a problem with answering questions?
I met his eyes and with the moonlight shining inside, I noticed his pith black orb eyes. His aura was like none but I wasn’t the least scared of him.
Eve has pushed herself to sleep and abandoned me to deal with this alone.
I growled inside and felt his gaze on me. ” Let me introduce myself, I’m Sage Dragon.”
” The demon lord?” I wasn’t asking, but he hemmed in response.
So he was the grandfather Madeline talked about?
He has features similar to that of Roman but not completely alike.
” What did you mean when you said he didn’t have another option?” I frowned.
He chuckled.
” Let’s talk tomorrow, you need to have a good rest.” He turned around and started walking to the door.
I didn’t know how I slept, but when I flipped my eyes open, I saw Sophia standing by the huge closet in the room.
I rubbed my eyes and sat up on the bed.” Good morning lady Bella.” She turned to greet me, my eyes landed on the cloth in her hand.
” These are new clothes for you.” She replied under my questionable gaze. ” How long was I going to stay here?” I whispered to myself.
” I’m sorry, lady Bella if I woke you up.” She bowed.
” Call me Bella,” I said sternly before getting out of bed and heading to the bathroom.
A grumpy sound came from my stomach and I let out a long sigh as I glared at myself in the mirror.
By the time I returned from the bathroom with a white towel around me, I found a blue dress lying on the bed.
I changed into the dress and headed out of the room. Sophia led me to a brown door, and when I pushed it open, Sage immediately called out to me as if he was expecting me.
After hesitating for a few seconds, I walked in with all the eyes in the room staring at me.
It was a huge room with a long dining table that was surrounded by at least eight demons.
” Good morning, dear.” Madeline greeted and I gave her a small nod. I slipped into an empty chair at the side.” How was your night?” Sage asked and I couldn’t help but notice the stillness in the room.
My eyes ran around the strange faces at the table, and when my eyes met the familiar eyes, he smiled at me. ” I’m Kane.” my attention stared away from him before he could start telling me his age.
” I had a good night.” that was a lie.
” Good.” Sage sounded as if he didn’t believe me. ” Let me introduce her to you all,” he stated but was interrupted by the opening of the door.
” Sorry, I’m late.” I immediately recognized him from the pack.
” Hi, it’s a pleasure to meet you again.” He flashed me a small smile before taking his seat.
Why did I feel like everything had always been before me?
” Meet Bella, she is Roman’s soul mate.” everyone at the table spun in my direction with awkward silence.
I didn’t know what everyone was thinking but I knew what that asshole was. ” Roman always gets the good stuff,” he said, just like I thought, I rolled my eyes.
” She is going to be staying with us from now on,” Sage announced.
Soon everyone buried their heads in their breakfast plate.
I felt someone staring at me the entire time, but I didn’t bother looking up because I didn’t think it was worth it.
It was better to stay out of their business since I wasn’t one of them.
I could tell Sage was a kind man but I couldn’t say the same about the others. I might not know what they were thinking at the moment but I could tell liking me wasn’t what they were thinking.
After breakfast, I headed back into my room, thank the goddess that I didn’t have to walk by myself because the hallway wasn’t as empty as it was when I left for breakfast.
I didn’t know how, but Roman hadn’t contacted me.
Madeline has been checking on me once in a while. Sara and Sophia remained behind the door.
Everything was turning into a nightmare. Where was my fated mate, why was I here?
The loneliness and the craving for stupid staff were making me go insane. I didn’t know what had changed about me, but I could feel something was off.
The constant hunger, the craving for specific foods and everything. I didn’t know why I was changing so much, nor did I know how much time had passed.
This place feels like a different world altogether.
I sighed, my gaze staring out through the window. They sometimes calm me down, light some hope in me, and they also remind me of my importance to him.
I didn’t know which of them was the truth. I didn’t know if he left me here or …I didn’t know.
I didn’t know why he brought me over here.
I shut my eyes, and suddenly a knock came on the door.
