ALPHA ROMAN’S POV
“Have the missing pups been found?” I asked Vincent as we strode towards my office building.
Three pups could go missing in a day was suspicious that was why someone fucking owes me an explanation.” They were found dead in the woods.” I clenched my jaw as we walked along the pathway that led to my office door.
Two warriors stopped and greeted me which I nodded to.
” The course of their death isn’t confirmed yet but it’s definitely a murder case,” he added as we stepped into my office. If what I was thinking was correct then this wouldn’t be the end.
Abraham would push all my bottoms to make sure I hand over my mate to him and his tyrants. The murder of three pups was the fucking start.
I knew I had to do something before everything ran south, but I didn’t intend to go into battle with the royal pack. Many of my warriors were mated with pups; there should be another way out of this that didn’t have to be me handing over my mate to them.
I used to enjoy the quick method because I had nothing to lose, but now, I have everything to lose. The pack, my mate, and my pup.
” What are you planning next?” Vincent asked but I said nothing. I have nothing in mind, Abraham wasn’t going to stop threatening me with my pack.
He wants my mate and I wasn’t fucking going to give him that. ” We have to do something before he decides to attack.” Vincent voiced out his fear. Royal pack outnumbers us; therefore, a fucking war was likely to break the pack down. Turners pack could only measure up to half of their population. We might be ahead of them in the case of modernization, but the royal pack wasn’t an easy target.
Abraham wasn’t just any alpha; he was the fucking alpha king.” I know you don’t want to risk the lives of the warriors, but I’m afraid there is no other way unless you are considering…” a cut him off with a growl.
” Chill, I didn’t even mean it.” He stepped back under my intense gaze and I knew he was grinning like a fool.” Get out of my office.” I snored and he raised both his hands in the air. ” You have changed a lot, alpha Roman.” He emphasized on the word alpha.
He turned back to leave after a step.
I fisted my hand in rang.
I hated myself for not being able to protect her and our pup.
I hated that I had to rely on those demons to keep my mate safe.
For the first time in my life, I felt both helpless and useless at the same time.
I knew Sage had given me his word, but I couldn’t help how I felt.
She was my mate for goddess sake! I ran my fingers in my hair as I walked out of my chair beside the window. The sun was already going down and I could tell she might be awake by now.
The pack was no longer safe, Abraham was determined to push my bottoms. I didn’t know who he would use to get to me; I couldn’t risk it all.
For now, I had to look out for the protection of my pack while I thought of a proper way to shut Abraham up.
Sage was right, Bella would never be safe as long as the alpha king was breathing.
The last few hours with her was nothing but amazing. I pulled the red box out of my pocket. It would have been better if she was a different kind of wolf, or maybe this was who she was meant to be, my fated mate.
I squeezed the box in my hand, I was going to do everything to make sure she was safe. I wouldn’t let Abraham or any other alphas lay a fucking hand on her.
ANNABELLA’S POV
My eyes ran around the strange room and a frown appeared on my face.
It was a huge, spacious room with a couch on the opposite side and a fixed window on the left side of the bed. It wasn’t our room from the resort, nor was it the pack house.
Did we come to a hotel?
I pushed the white sheet off myself and stepped my feet on the brown polished floor; I didn’t feel the coldness of the floor because I was wearing my shoes.
” Roman?” I walked over to the small white door at the side and scanned the place, but he wasn’t there.
My heart trembled slightly in my chest, but I managed to comfort myself and stay calm. Why I was suddenly worried?
Roman wouldn’t dump me in a hotel room just because I didn’t want to talk about having pups.
I assured myself, but deep inside me, I felt bad for saying that to him. Eve was right, he was an alpha and needed an heir.
Speaking to him like that wasn’t fair but I was angry that he was protecting Juliet. I walked over to the door and intended to ask the counter person if maybe I could get a phone to call his number.
I raised a brown as I felt a bit strange inside when I noticed the long hallway before me. It was quiet and shining bright like it was morning.
” Where is this place?”
My mouth hung open as I stared from left to right, not sure which way to go.” Lady Bella” the sudden voice made me turn abruptly, and when my eyes landed on the two identical beings standing with their hands behind them, I let out a slight but then I realized there was something off about them, their smell I guess.
” We are your servants. My name is Sofia, but you can choose to call me anything you please.” Her politeness was what caught my attention.
I wasn’t sure what she was talking about, but I had no intention of changing her name or anything ever.” I’m Sara, but I will accept whatever name you choose to address me with.” The one with the brown hair said.
I found it a bit strange. Was that how hotels serve their guest around here?
” Which room number is this?” I spun my head and pointed my gaze to the door. ” It’s lord Roman’s room,” Sofia replied, and I frowned.
Lord Roman?
Their scent became clearer; they weren’t humans, nor were they werewolves.
” Who are you?” I glared from Sara to Sofia. The difference between them wasn’t much. Sara has wavy brown hair, while Sofia has long black hair that runs down to her back and dark brown eyes.
” We are your servants,” Sofia replied, my face still holding the frown, not satisfied with their reply. Or maybe I didn’t ask the right question.
” Where is this place?”
” This is the lord’s mansion.” Sara was the one who replied and I didn’t think she was making sense.
Lord’s mansion?
Did she mean lord, Roman?
” Roman!”
” Roman!”
” Sorry, lady Bella, lord Roman left after he brought you here.” I swallowed as I tried not to take what she said seriously and started to walk away. I guess it was better I looked for him myself.
” What?” by now, my face was covered with confusion. I didn’t understand what was going on, nor did I want to believe what they just said, but where was Roman?
Why did he bring me here?
I felt my tears threatening to break free, and I held onto the little hope that was left in me. I didn’t want to believe anything they said.
I was in a hotel, and Roman was out somewhere, and I would find him.
After walking for a while without getting out of the hallway, I was starting to believe that Roman left me there, but I couldn’t think of a reason why he would leave me there.
I didn’t want to accept.
The girls didn’t follow, and I was thankful for that because I didn’t want to hear anything from them.
I was tempted to get back and wait for him in the room, but I didn’t see that as an option when I saw a man slipping through a golden door ahead.
I walked fast to catch up with him; maybe he knew where I would find Roman perhaps how to get out of here.
” Who are you?” My hand froze on the doorknob when the voice suddenly crawled into my ears. I stepped back from the door when I picked up the approaching footsteps behind the door.
He had long black hair and a perfectly built body that needed a little bit of work out to match Roman’s. His height could be equal to that of Roman’s as well, but that would take a few more years.
” Who are you?” He shut the door behind him as he noticed me peaking in.” I’m…. Bella. yes, and I’m looking for Roman.” The look that appeared in his eyes didn’t skip me.
” You are his mate?” I didn’t miss where his eyes were looking at, my neck as if he was trying to confirm something.
” You are the little mate he was desperate to protect?”
” Do you know where I can find him or maybe how I can leave here?” He chuckled.
” Roman has everything going on for him, doesn’t he?” He took a step closer, but I didn’t move an inch because I was scared of him.
” I’m afraid you can’t …..”
” Luna Bella.” The familiar female voice interrupted and I turned my head.
Madeline?
