Everyone looked at each other like ‘Did that really just happen?’
“Alpha Richard, please have two warrior wolves escort Lee Grant to his room where he will gather his belongings. They are to accompany him to the following location I am about to give to only you,” commanded Alpha King Matthew.
“As you wish, Alpha King,” replied Alpha Richard. Alpha Richard reached out for two warrior wolves to come to the hospital immediately to fetch Lee Grant. They were there within minutes.
After Lee Grant had been removed, everyone let out a breath. “So, Melanie was able to prove that he created the contract on me and her? Amazing, simply amazing,” declared my Dad to everyone as he looked at me lying in the bed.
“Yes, she is. You have an amazing daughter Troy. She not only found the evidence but cut off the money supply to Doyle Kessler. He may not come after you now with no guaranteed pay-out,” observed Alpha King Matthew.
“True, very true. Without an incentive, I doubt he will follow through,” mused my Dad out loud.
“Alpha Richard, we were going to depart tomorrow morning but since the Moon Goddess said that Delta Melanie was going to wake up tomorrow feeling more like her ‘normal’ self. Would it be wrong of me to say, ‘Let’s have a celebration’ tomorrow night in her honor? We never really got to celebrate her and Anthony becoming the new Delta pair,” mused Alpha King Matthew. “I feel indebted to her in so many ways and this is the least I could do for her.”
“I think we can manage that. What do you think Troy?” mused Alpha Richard to my Dad.
“I do believe we can pull it off. Anthony do you think you’d be up for it?” asked my Dad with an amused grin on his face.
“Yes, I think I would be. I think she’d be surprised though. I know she would not expect anything. This should be fun,” declared Anthony as he held my hand.
“Shall we get started on the preparations? I know my Luna would enjoy putting this together for Delta Melanie,” boasted Alpha Richard.
“Will she mind some help? I know once I tell my mate, she will want to help out as well. She would love to do this for her niece,” boasted Alpha King Friedrich.
“Queen Diana wants to help as well,” announced Alpha King Matthew.
“It looks like all of our mates will be kept busy planning and coordinating this event. What are we going to do?” mused Alpha King Friedrich out loud to no one in particular.
“Let’s meet to see what we can come up with as a reward for all her hard work. She has done a great job already, I can only imagine what’s in store for us in the future,” declared Alpha King Matthew.
“I know, she is truly an amazing Delta already,” mused Alpha Richard.
When they met in the conference room, King Friedrich was the first one to speak up. “What do you give to someone who has everything she wants? Her lifestyle is simplistic. She always puts others first before her needs,” inquired King Friedrich to everyone present.
“I know, right?! She has never spent money on herself frivolously, only on necessities. I’ve only seen her splurge on one or two items in her entire life and even then she had feelings of regret later on for splurging on them,” shared Alpha Richard to the group gathered.
“Wow! She doesn’t make it easy for anyone does she? So, gentlemen, what do you propose we do for a young lady who doesn’t spend on herself but on others?” requested Alpha King Matthew to everyone gathered.
“Well, she is expecting a baby so let’s start with that shall we,” proposed King Friedrich.
“Indeed, that’s a start,” proposed Alpha Richard.
Everyone was so busy that the day flew by quickly. Before they knew it, it was time to call it a day. Anthony remained by my side. He even crawled into bed with me. Knowing that I was supposed to wake up tomorrow per the Moon Goddess, Anthony fell asleep next to me.
The next morning, I awoke around 9:45 AM to everyone’s surprise. I didn’t think they expected me to wake up that early. My eyes fluttered open to find Anthony sitting next to me. I was greeted with the most dazzling smile and the most gorgeous blue eyes.
“Good morning beautiful,” purred Anthony before he kissed me soundly.
“Good morning my handsome mate,” I purred back at him after the kiss. “What a wonderful way to wake up. How are you feeling this morning?”
“That’s my line. How are you feeling today Mellie?” cooed Anthony as he held me gently and caressed my cheek.
“I’m doing good. I feel good. I really won’t know until I start moving around. But I feel more like my old self again. Have you been here all night?”
“Of course, like I would leave you here by yourself. I would never leave you alone here,” cooed Anthony.
“Thank you, my love. What would I do without you?” I cooed as I gazed into his gorgeous blue eyes.
“You won’t have to find out anytime soon my love. Now Dr. Adams is on his way here to check you out. Hopefully, you can be released soon. I want to take you home. How’s your headache this morning?” inquired Anthony as he continued to hold me.
“Practically non-existent. Like I said, I feel more like my old self again. I can’t wait to get back home again. I love you Anthony,” I purred.
We waited for Dr. Adams to come in to check me out. Once he did, I was released to go home. Once at home, Mom immediately gave me something to eat after she hugged and kissed me. What would I do without my mother? I don’t know and I hope I don’t have to find out any time soon.
After I ate, I took a shower and changed into comfortable clothes. Anthony allowed me to sit on the couch so I could entertain company-visitors. Sophia and Mason wanted to come over to make sure I was okay. I welcomed the distraction since everyone else seemed to be busy.
It was at that time that Anthony announced that his Grandparents were leaving at the end of the week to return to their pack. They had been gone too long and were needed back home. I understood and felt guilty that they had stayed as long as they did. It was all because of me. I was told ‘nonsense’ and they were glad to be of some help to our family.
I was glad to see Sophia so happy. She and Mason have already completed their mate bond and marked each other with Uncle Friedrich’s blessing.
“I’m so glad to see you looking so much better,” exclaimed Sophia to me.
“Thanks, Soph. I feel so much better. Unlike yesterday, I don’t feel drained as I move around. I feel more like I used to before I was pregnant,” I gleefully stated to everyone in the room.
“That’s good news. I see you still love to wear your fuzzy socks,” teased Mason with his eyebrow raised.
“Dude, what is your problem with my fuzzy socks? Just because you didn’t wear yours, don’t hate. Geez,” I teased him right back which caused Sophia and Anthony to laugh at us.
“What are you two talking about?” inquired a confused Anthony.
“When my Dad, Danny, and I went to the Lakewood Pack to help train their females, help out their Delta, and renegotiate a treaty with their Alpha, I wore my fuzzy socks. Mason, then Beta Mason, invited Danny and me to hang out with the unmated wolves in the recreation room to watch a movie. He said to dress comfortably so I dressed comfortably. I wore a t-shirt with shorts under sweatpants along with fuzzy socks with my slippers,” I explained to everyone in the room.
“Yes, she did. She was definitely dressed comfortably. And she told me not to hate because I didn’t wear mine,” chuckled Mason as he recalled the memory.
“That’s right, I did. It was best for everyone to know the real me upfront. I don’t pretend for anyone. When you say dress comfortably, I dress comfortably. I like to wear fuzzy, warm socks. If you have a problem with that, keep it to yourself. I am a simple kind of person. I know what I like and I don’t hold back. Do I Anthony?” I mused as I snuggled closer to him with a huge grin on my face.
“No, my love. You do not hold back. And I love you for it,” beamed Anthony as his grin got wider.
“Hey Mason, how did Alpha Tucker take the news of you leaving the Lakewood Pack for Sophia?” I questioned him with a smirk.
“A lot better than I expected him to. He was happy that I found my mate but he expected to get a Beta Female from the match. Now, he had to find a replacement for me. Sophia’s worth moving to Europe for. I would never, ever give her up. I’m so glad I found her,” gushed Mason as he gazed into her eyes.
“I’m glad I found you too. When I become Queen in four months, Mason will be officially recognized as my mate and crowned King. I can’t wait for that to happen,” gushed Sophia as she snuggled closer to Mason on the couch.
“And we will be there to watch it all happen. I can’t wait for you to be crowned Queen. We’ve only talked about this since we were little and now it’s finally happening. I’m so excited for you Soph,” I exclaimed with a huge smile on my face.
“I know right?! Just like you becoming the Delta of your pack. Now that you’ve become Delta, one down and one more to go. Yay us!” Sophia cheered as she jumped up to hug me.
“I’m still helping you with hair and make-up, right?” I asked as if I didn’t already know the answer to that question.
“As if I would let anyone else help me,” teased Sophia as she hugged me tightly. “Love you, Melanie.”
“Love you too, Sophia,” I replied back to her.
“Lunch is ready, come and let’s eat,” exclaimed Mom to everyone.
We ate lunch together in the dining room. We were all laughing at different stories Mom told about Sophia and me when we were little. We liked to play around a lot with the guards when we were in the castle. We just liked having fun according to Sophia.
After lunch, Anthony told everyone I needed to take a nap because I was still recovering from a migraine. He just wanted an excuse to cuddle with me. Mm-hmm, he wanted to kiss and touch me before we actually took our nap.
