Chapter: Seventy-One

I was left alone for a while. I heard no noise from the other rooms in the house. I don’t know if they went outside or left the house period. I don’t really know. I calmed down enough that I was able to discern that I was not alone in the house. There were two individuals in another room down the hall.
After a short period of time, I heard a car approach the house. Then, I heard at least three people talking. They started coming down the hallway toward my door. The door opened and three individuals entered the room looking expectantly at me.
“Well at least she stopped crying,” the blonde said to the others.
“My dear, how are you feeling? I heard you had an upset stomach. Hmm?” inquired the older gentleman with a gentle voice.
“I feel like crap, thank you for asking. I can’t keep food down. I can’t feel my baby and that worries me,” I answered him truthfully.
“Okay, let me take a look at you. I’m Dr. Jones. Can you come over to the bed and lie down for me? I need to get a good look at you. I will have the other gentlemen move out of the way, okay?” asked a very gentle Dr. Jones.
“Yes sir,” I replied as I carefully got out of the chair and walked over to the bed to lie down on top of it.
“Why does she have silver shackles on her ankles if she is pregnant? She could be experiencing silver poisoning, which could be why she has an upset stomach and could be detrimental to her baby,” explained Dr. Jones to everyone in the room.
“They’re needed to make sure she doesn’t communicate with her pack, her mate, or to overpower us to escape. What else do you suggest we use if I can’t use silver to subdue her wolf?” whined Prince Michael.
“Take the shackles off of her NOW! I can already tell you that silver is part of the problem. As a pregnant she-wolf, she cannot have silver placed on her in a pure state such as this. You can have it infused with something like a zip tie and it will subdue her wolf. Don’t be an idiot about such things,” declared Dr. Jones to Prince Michael.
Prince Michael came forward and produced a key. He unlocked the shackles and took them off of me. He tossed them into the corner of the room.
“Now then my dear, let me take a look at you in closer detail. I’m also going to do a blood draw to take with me so I can check you out,” explained Dr. Jones.
The doctor was thorough in his examination. He even did a pelvic exam and he told me that I had some recent tearing that he would stitch up for me. How did I get recent tearing-then it hit me that someone had done something to me while I was still unconscious. That’s why I woke up sore like I was. That bastard is going to pay.
“Dr. Jones, is my baby okay?” I inquired with worry laced in every word.
“Your baby is okay. The heartbeat is steady. We need you to eat and get stronger. Now, I don’t know the circumstances of what is going on but in order for them to remove the shackles I gave them some zip ties that are silver laced that would not cause you or your baby harm. I’m sorry,” Dr. Jones apologized as he continued to stitch up the tear in my vagina.
‘Anthony. Anthony, can you hear me?’ I called out to him.
‘Melanie my love. Are you alright? I felt your pain before. Are you okay?’ Anthony called out in concern.
‘Anthony, I don’t have a lot of time. They took the silver off but they’re going to replace it with a zip tie that is silver-infused. Prince Michael has me. I don’t know where. Yes, I’ve been hurt, but I’m okay and so is the baby. I have a doctor taking care of me right now. My love, please just be patient. I will get out of here. I will find a way. Remember that I love you with all of my heart and soul,’ I purred as I tried to sound positive.
‘I love you too with all my heart and soul. Just stay safe. Be careful. I will tell everyone here that you were able to contact me. That Prince Michael does in fact have you. Just be safe,’ purred Anthony.
‘My love, stay with me. Don’t leave me. They’re talking, but I need to listen to what they’re saying,’ I softly stated.
‘I’m not leaving you until I have to my love,’ cooed Anthony in my ear.
“So, she has silver poisoning. You have to start an IV to flush it out of her system and monitor her. Okay, and what else? We can’t stay here indefinitely. We have people looking for us, for her specifically. She’s going to be my ticket to freedom,” noted Prince Michael to the doctor.
“Okay, but she needs the IV and it will need to be changed out when it is finished. Do you have anyone here that can do that?” inquired the doctor.
“Let me find out. Wait here,” demanded Prince Michael.
“Riverton, Wyoming,” Dr. Jones whispered so softly I almost missed it. “My dear, are you okay? Here let me help you,” the doctor said louder as he rushed to my side.
“Thank you, Dr. Jones,” as he helped me to my feet and to the bathroom as I started to heave again.
‘Anthony, did you hear him? I guess we are in Riverton, Wyoming. Tell everyone to get here fast or at least find the closest packs,’ I told him as I continued to heave my guts out.
‘I heard him and I already relayed that information to everyone. My love I hope you felt better. I was told I had to stay at home to appear that we don’t have any information whatsoever. I wish I could be on my way to get you. Be safe. Love you,’ soothed Anthony in our link.
I found Prince Michael staring at me from the bathroom door. I was still heaving dry heaves at that point. I fell back hard on my butt and held my hand to my head. I had broken out into a cold sweat.
“My dear, here let me help you. Let’s get a cold washcloth and put it against your forehead. Let’s see if that will help you out,” mused Dr. Jones as he continued to get me cleaned up while Prince Michael just watched us not saying a word.
Dr. Jones helped me back into bed. He put the covers over me as I started to shiver as I now had a fever. I just had to hold out until the calvary arrived or at least I hoped they would arrive in time to help me.
I hoped no one heard Dr. Jones whisper our location while Prince Michael was out of the room.
