Xavier’s POV
We had our dinner and started preparing to go to our respective companies, I dropped her off and continued to mine, I arrived in time to see my dearest friend and secretary drop a huge amount of files on my desk,
“Is this a two years worth of work or what?”
“Yes it is, you should be thankful, am making you work ahead of time”
“No way, am not thankful at all, is it only signing or… Wipe that stupid evil grin off your face because am not doing anything other than sign”
“Don’t worry am not your evil stepmother, it’s only signing ”
“Better be, because anything more and am running away”
“Not if you don’t have the keys….”
“Stop being creepy”
“Well that’s all, do your thing and enjoy, you have three months to suffer while I laugh last”
“It’s worth it though ”
“Anything that helps you sleep at night”
I resumed work and started signing and writing whatever he gave me, I have already made arrangements for the trip, I have even contacted the housekeeper if my house of there on what I planned to do and had her prepare in advance, so far everything is going smoothly.
Jessica’s POV
My whole office was chaotic and busy with my assistant running up and down to make sure I do all the works I need to do before my vacation which should be three months but am using only one month of it.
I had reviewed various paperworks and brochures that will be passed to the editing and publishing department, it’s tiring but worth it, a tint of red will occasionally appear on my cheeks once in a while when the images of what happened this morning flashed through my head.
Never knew one can still experience pleasures without actually having sex, it’s really surprising that such feeling existed, it felt euphoria and exciting.
“Here, are the final ones, finish this and you are done for today”
“Okay, then thank you, take of the company during my absence, you are next after me hope you know that, don’t let anyone intimidate you at all”
“Yes mum, you sound like you are off to the army”
“Hahahaha, of course not, I just felt like saying it okay”
“Okay I get it mum”
“Stop being silly, I ain’t your mama”
“Now you sound silly”
“Hahahaha ”
“But honestly bro, I will miss you all, you all did a lot for me during all the time I wasn’t here or in the right frame of mind to work, you all especially you did a lot for me”
“Okay, no problem, we are just doing our job and also helping a friend ”
I smiled at him as he left me to my device, I started working, I need to finish on time to be able to get a little outfit for beach and dinners, I know breakfast will be at home and lunch should be when we wanted or not, well it depends on what Xavier had planned out for us and I know it will be sweet.
I finished earlier than I ever imagined, it was one thirty when I was done with everything and true to his words that’s the only ones remaining for me to be through,
“Duu Duu Duu”
“Good afternoon, you have reached the manager’s office, Jessica speaking ”
“Hi Jessica it’s me Collins ”
Xavier’s POV
I finished my work before six in the evening, I arranged it accordingly before sire will start complaining again that I made him work more than usual after I was done, I called Jessica to know her whereabout,
“Jess are you done?”
“Yes, I was through four hours ago, you?”
“Wow you sure work fast, am done, am coming to pick you up so we could go shopping for your essentials ”
“Okay, what about you?”
“The wardrobe is filled with my clothes that I keep there in case of an emergency, so I don’t really need anything ”
“The hotel has your clothes, is it your hotel?”
“Well it’s my mother’s, which means its now mine… but we are not staying there, I have a vacation house there, win it in a bet with Mike”
“No wonder he made you lose that car that worth’s millions, I can never get you rich people ”
“You are a rich person too, you just haven’t realized it yet but don’t worry, you will come back this trip richer than before ”
“Well if I can be rich by goofing around then who am I to say no? ”
“Okay, am on my way sweetheart, wait for me, muah”
“I will be waiting for you, I have something to tell you, so come ”
“Okay ”
“Beep”
I entered my car and drove off towards her company, I started feeling nostalgic as I drove along my usual direction, remembered when she isn’t in my life yet, I hardly go home except I wanted a change of bed rest, I almost lived at the office, even at home, it feels cold and devoid of warmth even with the cookers there, tried dating but no one made me feel enough to rush home whenever I remember them.
Mind you I believe in love and wish to have it, I saw my parents shower each other with pure love when they were alive, our family was so happy and bright and that’s what I was looking for, am surprised I found it in someone I never knew or approached, I really am thankful that Collins was foolish enough to let such a gem go because it’s mine now and am not giving her up for anything.
Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if I hadn’t met her, I don’t remember how I lived before, how I slept, eat and perform my everyday activities without her, but one thing I know is that I don’t want to go back to that life, it’s so empty.
