“How did they know? We made sure everything was perfect ”
“Yes it was and was still but the camera he placed in the papers were moved”
“Thank God, I gave the twins a device that can jam and disrupt cameras ”
“Yes, thank God to that because it really helped ”
“So what are we gonna do now?”
“The hired investigation and detective are in our side so it’s easy, we just pray they don’t actually get anything against us ”
“They won’t I made sure of that”
“Noe I know why the ladies like you, you are always a step ahead and ready to save the day”
“You are praising me a lot but thank you sir ”
“Okay, don’t stress yourself over it”
“Xavier, I just received a message about the auction ”
“What is it? What does it say?”
“We are formally invited, color of the day…. White”
“If only Xavier will be invited to join the main group ”
“What do you mean?”
Jessica asks confusion evident in her eyes, Mike sighed then adjusted his seat and continued,
“The auction house or should I say the art gallery is owned by Marcus family ”
“Okay…..”
“And four other families, they have various high positions in the government, Marcus family may own the gallery but they share anything gotten from there with those people ”
“So it’s more like paying them “hush” money?”
“Yes, the people involved are a high ranked police officer, a lawyer, a judge and a politician ”
“That’s really intense”
“That’s why it has been hard to investigate there for a long time now because of the people who are controlling it”
“So why would they kill my parents then or even invite him?”
“They are after Metro Company’s stash funds ”
“Why would they be after that?”
“Like a said, it’s an art gallery from the outside but in the inside it’s a money laundering ”
“Okay but I don’t see why yet”
“The needed a famous company to back them up, the more people wants to launder their money the more famous artists they hire, so they need to be paid too, at that point they needed money badly and your parent’s company is the only thing that can give it to them”
“They wanted my father to join them then brainwash him to get the company’s stash funds?”
“Bingo!”
“And when he refused, they killed him but that didn’t give them what they wanted ”
“I think your parents was killed because they know too much and remember the people who helped them?”
“The four board members?”
“Yes and they gave them the money they asks for in return they took would join the team”
“We’re they accepted? My father wouldn’t have reported them because he knows they are evil”
“Like I said he knows too much and it’s their weakness. The members were accepted in the surface but they are not a full elite members ”
“So they are among them on the surface but it’s just a ruse?”
“Yes, they still do their meetings privately along themselves, it’s only the normal meeting that they bring them into it”
“So after all they did, they still weren’t accepted, what fools they are”
“They don’t even know they are not even in the main group, they main members are planning on discarding them but because of their tie to the metro company they still haven’t ”
“I think I know what we should do”
Jessica said,
“What is it?”
Mike asked her, everyone was now looking at her but the lady in question was in a daze, I know she was thinking seriously about what she is about to say and that made me more curious.
“What if Xavier joins thm as MIKE suggested earlier?”
“Then it will be easier to get information on them”
Mike was the one who replied, I was just listening,
“But how will Xavier join, they haven’t approached him all these years why would they now?”
“What if we gave them enough reason to take Xavier, all they need to do is to remove the bord members and put Xavier but into their main circle ”
“That sounds good but how are we going to do that?”
“We just have to drop hints at the right places ”
“Okay the plan is good and all but will Marcus’s father agree to that, remember he was the one that separated Xavier and Marcus making them the enemy they are now”
“Yes, that was then when Xavier didn’t have what they needed, but now he does”
“They can also launder their money through the orphanages and less privileges the metro company runs, it’s even the easiest way, they will have their money in cash instead”
“That makes a lot of sense, maybe that’s the main reason they killed Xavier’s parents because they refused to use the welfare facilities they owned ”
“Now how are we going to convince them”
“Let’s organise a charity party, then drop hints that does wanting to launder. money should see Xavier and get acknowledged but it should only be dropped amongst themselves ”
“You mean start a rumour within their own people who come to launder money with them? ”
“Yes, make them turn to you and that will surely gran their attention faster because they have wanted the facilities for a long time ”
“But what if they are not after the facilities?”
“Then we will also get their attention because you are involved in money laundering, they will surely invite you ”
“Okay then, before them, I want everywhere to be filled with these unnoticeable cameras, put it everywhere including the toilet, I don’t care, put it everywhere inside the hall”
“Okay ”
Black replied, he has been typing away in his laptop since we were talking, I wonder what he is writing though, but I didn’t pry
“Mike, you and Blac should hire people that can be trustworthy to decorate the hall”
“Um, I have my own team that specializes in that ”
“Better then, we will have the party on Friday, send out invitations and the hints before then”
