I signed the papers she gave me, I was staring at her face to know her expression but it was blank, after am done she made to leave but I was faster.
“Babe, am sorry, please stop being upset ”
“Okay, now tell me what did you do?”
“Babe, I don’t know but am sorry, huh?”
“And that’s the problem, you don’t know but you are sorry, Mike it was my parents memorial but you didn’t show up, our wedding is almost near”
Okay, I admit I fucked up real bad, I for the love of me didn’t remember at all, all these cases I have here made me forget everything about it,
“Babe I admit I messed up big time, am sorry really sorry, just give me one more chance ”
“No Mike, tell me what are you so occupied with that you forgot about something so important?”
“Laura”
“No, don’t Laura me, tell me , what’s wrong babe”
Honestly I really want to tell her everything but things might get dangerous, for people who had committed two murders, another four wouldn’t be a thing to them, so am scared yes am scared.
I really am scared not for myself but for Laura, I don’t want anything bad to happen to her, it will really shatter me if anything or anyone harms her.
“Babe, please don’t make me tell you this, please, you know I don’t hide things from you right?”
“Yes and that’s why I am more worried about your movements, something you are scared of telling me, it’s making me more nervous ”
“Okay babe, you know what?”

“I will tell you everything I promise just give me time okay, please?”
I looked at her with pleading eyes, she stared back at me more like glared at me and then her gaze softened,
“Fine, so what you want then but you need to tell me as soon as possible okay?”
“Okay, I promise, have you forgiven me now?”
“… Fine but my patience is limited, if you don’t tell me soon, don’t be surprised i gonna find out on my own”
“So am allowed to go inside the room now, babe?”
“Look who is being smart now?”
“You thought me, you said forgiving me and allowing me in aren’t the same thing ”
“Good boy and for that you are definitely not allowed in”

I heard her laughing as she went back to her office, that means am forgiven, I jumped,
“What are you doing?”
I was so startled I landed on my butt, I grimaced in pain and flared fiercely at the Intruder and killjoy Blac.
“None of your business ”
“You were jumping like a kid who was just given his favourite candy to eat after much begging ”
“Seems like I need my CARD and MONEY back, this kid doesn’t want to buy things for big uncle again ”
“Am sorry your majesty, this servant misspoke and forgot his place”
“That’s good, I will forgive your insolence only once”
“Okay, your majesty, here is your precious golden card you gave this servant, and here are the things you requested ”

I watched him as he did the iconic butler walk to my table and kept the stuff, I almost burst out laughing, my phone vibrate suddenly, I flinched dramatically,

“Hello Mike, come over here and call Blac, we have a slight problem ”
“What happened?”
“I will brief you when you arrive, hurry up”
I signaled at Blac to follow me immediately as I made my way to the door, I know that shit will hit the fan but it’s too soon, I hope am mistaken because we aren’t prepared yet, it will make our plan come out prematurely and I don’t want that.
Xavier’s POV
I watched as Jessica paced to and fro while biting her thumb, watching her was making me dizzy than I already was,
“Jess, can you please sit down my love, am having a little migraine watching you, my love ”
“Okay, but what if they found out?”
“Don’t worry they won’t, I … no we will make sure of that ”
“If things gets too bad, we are removing Blac from the operation ”
“Yes babe, I know, that was the first thing you made me promise when he was involved”

“No problem, I understand your worries, he is still a kid”
“Don’t let him hear that, it upsets him when someone calls him that or treat him like one”

We smiled at each other lovingly, I really need this to end soon as possible, just then Mike and Blac entered, Mike looked like he was swept by a hurricane.
“What happened Xavier, what problem are you talking about?”

“Haa, it’s about Marcus, seems like he hired an investigator about what we did the other time ”

“Thank God, I gave the twins a device that can jam and disrupt cameras ”
“Yes, thank God to that because it really helped ”
“So what are we gonna do now?”
“The hired investigation and detective are in our side so it’s easy, we just pray they don’t actually get anything against us ”
