Xavier’s POV
I drank the cold water hurriedly, it’s only a miracle that I didn’t choke on it, I kissed her even though it’s only on the forehead it’s still a kiss, I checked my time, I have two more minutes to stay to go and see grandfather, am sure I have gathered myself till then.
When my grandfather suggested the marriage stuff to me, I was against it at first and I swore to myself never to live the house with the woman, we will go for science way later when we need to have a child then I will send her somewhere good but far from my family with a lot of compensation but now since I met Jessica it all changed, I want to live with her, have children with her and spend the rest of my days with her but I don’t know if she will agree, we might be close but its only as s friend.
Jessica still has a wall up against me and she won’t let it down because she is afraid of getting hurt and I understand but it’s time for her to let go of the hurt, that guy isn’t worth it
My phone rang and I checked the screen to see it was Mike, he must have heard the news from the TV and news outlet, I answer the call
“Hey bruh, how is your old man doing?”
“He is okay, just came out of surgery now, I will see him now”
“Okay, I will be coming with Laura soon”
“Okay, no problem, am sure he will be happy to see you especially since the last time”
“Don’t remind me of that, am sure he has forgotten ”
“Forgotten? Seems you are the one who forgot who grandfather actually is”
“Haa, do you want me to come or not?”
“If you want am not withholding you from coming”
“Okay, oh, before I forget, how is Jessica doing?”
“She is actually my pillar right now, she is fine”
“Okay, thank God she was with you because am sure you would have been a mess then”
“Yes, you are actually right, glad it was her I got married to”
“Bye then ”
We hanged up and I got Jessica’s drink for her at the vending machine and went back to the waiting room, she was still sitting there, she stood up and smiled a heart warming smile at me, I was stunned as I approached her, I handed the water to her, she muttered a thank you to me as she drank it.
“Let’s go see grandfather before I leave”
“Where are you going?”
“Am going to get a change of clothes for us, we have been in our pyjamas since we arrived ”
“Okay, thank you, I haven’t even looked at my self well yet because I was distracted ”
“I understand, now let’s go”
We went inside grandfather’s room and sat down beside him, has bandage around his tummy and abdomen, an oxygen mask on his face and on his hand, he was breathing well and his heart monitor was okay too.
Jessica left soon to get personal supplies at home, we waved good bye before she left.
I stayed alone with grandfather, I soon fell asleep without knowing when I dozed off.
JESSICA’S POV
I got home and everything was as we left it, near, I went out personal wardrobes and drawers to get cloths and inner wears and then I showered to freshen up a bit to avoid sending father back into collapsing back to when he woke up, I laughed at my self for thinking that, I was done soon and went outside.
I was surprised when I saw Collins standing close toy car, how did he even know we live here . how did he even access here
“Hi, Jessica ”
“Hi, how did you come here?”
“I came in like everybody else ”
“So what is it?”
“I know you are in a hurry because of your father in-law ”
“Okay, since you know, you need to be fast about everything”
“Nothing much, just want to check up on you and thank you for talking to your husband about my father”
“Okay, no problem, I need to go to the hospital now”
“Okay no problem, wish a get well soon to your father in-law iny stead”
“No problem then”
He left and I entered my car and started going to the hospital.
When I arrived Xavier was sleeping, he must be tired, I dropped the things I bought and went the bed he was sleeping on and lay down, now everything is calm, am feeling tired too, I fell asleep immediately my head hit the pillow, I slept off.
XAVIER’S POV
I woke up to see Jessica lying down beside me, she must be tired because I am but I feel a little rejuvenated now, I took the bag she brought and took my cloths and toiletries and went to freshen up, I felt laight after taking my bath , I changed into my casual wear and went out to get food.
Am sure that the aroma of the food was what woke Jessica up from her sleep, I smiled as she rubbed her eyes like a baby, she got up and joined me, I passed her a plate and she started eating the food.
We were soon done and stretched out legs to relax the sour muscles, I cleared out table, Jessica went back to sleep immediately, she must be really tired.
I went outside make call and tell my media company what to print,. and also tell my secretary to be sending any work I have to the hospital, as I will be working from there till grandfather wakes up.
I saw Jessica looking around in a frenzy state,
“Jessica!!”
“You are here, I have been looking for you”
“I was on call with the company ”
“Okay, father just woke up the doctors are tending to him when I alerted them, he went back to sleep again”
