Work continued as usual, with Morticia’s team chatting about how much they would miss this office compared to their own. They spoke about the treats, the atmosphere, and the facilities.
But Morticia’s fingers kept tapping on her desk, her mind drifting.
She sighed. “What the hell is wrong with me? I should be patient, right?”
She leaned back in her sleek black chair. “Is he bored of me?”
“Is something troubling you, Miss Addams?” Lisa asked.
Morticia snapped out of her trance. “No, there’s nothing wrong.”
“Don’t worry about the project. We did an awesome job,” Nolan reassured her.
Morticia forced a smile and tried her best to focus on her work.

By evening, Morticia got out of a cab, paid the driver, and shut the door. She checked Klaus’s message again and sighed.
~Meet me at our spot. 8pm, don’t be late~
Her gaze shifted to the small beach ahead. “What could he be planning?”
As she walked further, her eyes caught sight of a transparent tent. Approaching it, her heart warmed at the beauty of the setup.
The warm glow illuminated a well-designed table, set with elegant plates, cutlery, and a vase of flowers in the center.
Beside the tent were two vans. From the first, she noticed a professional chef who smiled at her. She had no idea what was in the second van. The scent of her favorite chicken parmesan filled the air.
“That’s our chef for tonight,” Klaus’s voice came from behind her.
He was dressed in a sharp black suit, his hair combed back, making him look as handsome as ever. For a moment, she allowed herself to admire him.
“What’s going on?” she asked.
“A dinner date. Shall we?” he replied in a charming voice. “I’ve got a dress prepared for you inside the van.”
Morticia nodded, her heart racing in anticipation. Klaus was always full of surprises.
In a few minutes, she had changed into a stunning white dress. Upon noticing the designer’s tag, her eyes widened.
The dress was worth millions.
Klaus was stunned when she stepped out. It was as though he was seeing her for the first time. She looked breathtakingly beautiful, even without makeup.
Her skin was smooth, her lips naturally pink, her lashes long, and her black hair tied in a bun.
They sat down for dinner, the moon and stars smiling down at them.
“This is so nice,” Morticia giggled. “It’s beautiful.”
“Not as beautiful as you. I’m glad you like it,” Klaus whispered as they continued eating.
“What’s in the second van, Mr. President?” Morticia asked curiously.
“It’s a surprise.”
“Woo… I’m curious,” she chuckled.
They chatted as they ate, and after they were done, they sat on a mat prepared for them. With a glass of wine in hand, they gazed at the sky, Morticia’s head resting on his shoulder.
“When you left, I had a feeling you did it on purpose. Though the scene was overwhelming, and I couldn’t take it,” she said softly, and Klaus listened. “But then I waited… waited for you to come back. Years passed by. I was hurt, but still… I knew I was waiting.”
“I’m sorry it took so long,” he whispered. She lifted her head to meet his gaze.
“Everything happens for a reason, I guess. Maybe life wanted me to be stronger… I can’t believe I’ve been in love with you for more than ten years.”
Klaus stayed silent for a while before saying, “Come.” He helped her up, leading her closer to the water.
“Keep your eyes on the sky,” he instructed.
Morticia did as he said, and moments later, she heard a whistling sound. Fireworks shot into the sky, and as they burst, words appeared:
BE MINE FOREVER, MORTICIA
Her eyes widened at the display. It was so beautiful it made her heart skip a beat.
When she turned back to Klaus, she found him on one knee, holding a small box. He opened it, revealing a dazzling diamond ring.
She wanted to scream, but it felt as though her voice had left her.
“You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me, Morticia Addams. Will you marry me?”
Morticia stood stunned for a full minute, her heart racing as tears filled her eyes. Clearing her throat, she stretched her fingers toward him.
“Why are you even asking? I’m yours already.”
Klaus grinned and slid the ring onto her finger.
Morticia fanned herself, tears streaming down her cheeks as she looked away. “Ah, there’s so much wind in my eyes. I’m crying,” she said, laughing softly.
Klaus stood, staring at her with admiration before kissing her deeply. As he pulled away, another firework exploded in the sky.
THANK YOU FOR SAYING YES!
This was followed by another burst of light:
I LOVE YOU, MORTICIA.
“You’re the sweetest man on earth. This is insane,” she squealed, hugging him tightly.
“I guess we have two weddings coming up,” Rhea’s voice sounded. Morticia broke the hug and turned to find everyone staring at her.
Her family, including Vincent, Ava, Nica, Valerie, and even her team, were there. They had been hiding in the van, part of Klaus’s plan to surprise her.
Nolan had recorded the entire scene, as had another teammate.
“Congratulations, Miss Morty!” Lisa exclaimed.
Morticia felt like she might faint from excitement.
“Congratulations, sis,” Vincent greeted, followed by everyone else. Ava was crying tears of joy. Her children were getting married, and Klaus-whom she had come to see as a son-was soon to be her son-in-law.
“Congratu-a-ton,” little Evan mumbled, making everyone laugh.
“Thanks, little man,” Klaus said, smiling at him.
The tent was extended, tables and chairs were brought out from the second van, and the chef, along with his assistant, served a sumptuous meal to everyone.
Nolan passed extra vegetables to his girlfriend, Lisa.
“Thanks, baby,” Lisa whispered, and Nolan kissed her forehead.
Klaus, however, kept caressing the ring on Morticia’s finger. It meant the world to him. This was his family, and he was determined to protect them no matter what.
