Morticia grabbed her popcorn and began to watch the movie. It turned out to be a horror one.
She had bought it thinking it was a romance series, but it was horror, and the fact that she couldn’t take her eyes off it baffled her.
The door creaked open, and she gasped with a sharp scream.
“Easy, it’s just me,” Klaus mumbled, his eyes settling on the TV. “Is that horror?”
“Yeah? What are you doing here?”
“I’m spending the night here. Vince got an emergency call from his company and won’t be home,” he replied, his voice tired. His hair was rough, matching his voice.
Heat crept onto Morticia’s cheeks. Does that mean she’ll be home alone with Klaus?
“Why do you have to stay? It’s not like it’s my first time being home alone,” she said.
“I’m going up to bed. I can’t argue with you,” he swept his hair back and headed upstairs.
“Why does he look so tired?” Morticia mumbled, returning her gaze to the TV, only to jerk at the sight of a woman being murdered in her bed.
After an hour of jumping at every scene, the movie finally ended. She sighed and turned off the TV, but the weight of the feeling that someone was watching her began to creep in.
She rushed to her room, lay on the bed, and hugged her teddy tight before turning off the lamp. It was quiet. So quiet. It was raining outside, and that was the only sound she could hear.
What if someone was watching her?
She quickly turned the lamp back on, but it didn’t work. “Huh? What’s wrong?”
Maybe a ghost in her room did it? Her eyes darted around the room. Ghosts don’t exist, Morty.
“Gosh, why did I watch that movie?” she mumbled.
The rain didn’t help as thunder struck. Morticia whimpered, hugging her teddy tighter.
“This is driving me crazy,” she mumbled. The scene of the woman being killed in her bed flashed in her mind. Her eyes snapped to the side, and she found a figure.
“Ahhh!!!”
In the next moment, the door slammed open, revealing Klaus.
“Bunnie, you okay?” His half opened eyes dart around the room.
Morticia rushed behind him, pointing at the strange figure. “There!”
Klaus clenched his jaw and turned on his phone’s flashlight. He pinched the bridge of his nose when he saw what she was pointing at.
“It’s your fucking hoodie, Bunnie.”
Morticia’s lips parted as Klaus’s sleepy, cold eyes snapped to her.
“You seriously need to stop acting like a kid. You scared the shit out of me,” he scolded, and she shrunk, her round, adorable eyes blinking in guilt.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to,” she mumbled.
Klaus sighed. “Whatever.” He turned to leave, but Morticia quickly grabbed his arm.
“Don’t leave,” she pleaded.
“What?”
“Stay with me. Please.”
“No.”
“I’ll do anything, I promise. Please, Klaus,” she begged.
“You better not watch horror movies at night again, you hear me?” he scolded.
“Yes, I promise,” she meant it.
“Fine, I’ll sleep on the floor. You sleep on the couch,” he said.
“No.”
“What do you mean no?”
“I… I… uhm… the same bed,” she stammered. Klaus’s jaw dropped in disbelief but he didn’t say anything.
“Fine,” he sighed and went to lay on her bed, which was big enough to fit three people. His gaze locked onto hers, his metallic dark eyes glimmering under the light.
“Come here,” he whispered, and she obliged, lying beside him.
She heard Klaus clear his throat as she did. She had her back to him. The rain continued pouring heavily outside, the cold prickling her skin. The duvet wasn’t helping enough.
After a long while, she wondered if Klaus was asleep. Moving slowly, she turned to face him, only to meet his gaze. He was also staring at her.
Silence settled between them as Morticia took in his features. The guy her heart had been fluttering for over the years was right here.
On her bed.
Staring at her with those eyes.
Shirtless with his dark tattoos making him look freaking hot.
“You can’t sleep?” he asked quietly, and she nodded. “Me neither.”
It turned silent again, their gazes locked.
“I’m cold,” she whispered.
“Come closer, then,” he said, and she did, moving closer. His arm wrapped around her, his warmth enveloping her, sweeping away the cold.
His scent invaded her nose, and she inhaled deeply, savoring it.
Her heart raced so fast she tried to control her breathing. She looked up, meeting his gaze, then shifted it to his lips.
“I don’t think we can remain friends,” he said in a low voice after a long while
“Me too.”
Klaus pulled the ring on his lips into his mouth and asked the question that made her heart skip a beat.
“Can I kiss you?”
Morticia swallowed, and her answer surprised even her. “Yes, please.”
He leaned down, gently pressing his lips against hers. Sparks ignited, waves of heat rolling through her as her eyes fluttered shut. She let herself melt into the kiss, savoring the moment.
It felt incredible. She teased his lip ring with her tongue, and he smirked against her lips. He cupped her face, deepening the kiss, his tongue rolling against his until she was breathless.
“You’re getting good, Bunnie.” He whispered in a low, husky voice that did strange things to her body.
She whimpered as their lips parted, her breath shaky. She wanted more. Her eyes said it all.
And he gave it to her.
Klaus kissed her again, harder this time, his hand slipping beneath her thin shirt, reaching for her bare skin…
She moaned at the contact. Oh Gawd….
