Book:Ruthless Mafia's Innocent Mate Published:2025-2-16

Has he ever been like this before? She can’t understand why he is behaving like this, when he always behaves like someone who wants to harm her for little things.
He always looks like he would kill her and wouldn’t even blink his eyes at her dead body.
Now, his eyes are showing softness, similar to what she saw in a snap at his penthouse, but the intensity of it now is visible, and she can clearly see it, unlike before.
“You should drink some water. I will call Maya and everyone in after that,” Priyank said as he grabbed the glass and filled it with water from the jug.
Supporting her head, Priyank held the glass to her lips, and she softly sucked a few sips of water. Her throat felt a burning and cooling sensation at the same time.
“Drink some more. You look dehydrated. At least finish this glass; it will help,” Priyank stated as he kept her head still, so she could easily drink the water.
When the water finished from the glass, he removed it and gently put her head on the pillow. Priya licked the drops of water from her lips.
Priyank smiled. “Let me call them in,” he said as he got off the bed.
Priya just looked at his back as he walked out of the room. She didn’t know why he was so happy, as if he had just won some prize.
After meeting him, she felt like she couldn’t understand anything in her life. Everything was messed up too much, wrongly leading her into a state where she didn’t know what was reality and what was a dream.
She tried hard to differentiate, but was unable to do so. Even after trying so hard, it slipped differently, and the only thing happening was that she got a lot more questions to ask, when the questions she already had were not even answered.
Priya closed her eyes, not wanting to burden her head, as it felt like it would split open. She just didn’t want to feel that way.
The more she put pressure on it, the more it hurt. She had no energy to deal with the pain that was hitting her nerves and making them feel like they were going to burst open, which she gladly didn’t want.
“Priya,” Maya came running into the room, and as soon as she was informed that Priya was awake, she couldn’t have been happier.
Before, she thought just sleeping naked with Priyank wouldn’t help, and even if she had to force him to sleep with Priya, she wouldn’t mind.
But she was glad that it worked. She couldn’t be more grateful, or she would have more regret than she already had. She was so ashamed that she had to seek help from the exact person Priya was running away from and take shelter under Maya.
Still, what could she do? She had to do it, and sometimes things were not very favorable, no matter how hard someone tried, so they had to go with the flow.
She could do anything, but she couldn’t stop the Mating flow that the Moon Goddess gave to Priya. She could fight it all, but not the creator of their fate, at least.
It might be worse, but this was the best thing she could do, and Priya had now awakened, so it definitely proved that Priyank was her mate.
Priya opened her eyes as she saw Maya, who came toward her and looked at her with so many emotions.
Were these emotions even true? Priya asked herself because she didn’t believe it. If Maya was so happy that she was now awake, then why did she have to bring Priyank, knowing everything? She had still backstabbed.
Here, Priya was thinking of Maya as someone she could trust, the same figure as her mother, Mary.
But somehow, betrayal was something that hit her hard.
Even Mary had pushed her before, but at least there was a reason, and Priya agreed with it. If she had known the reason, without Mary pushing her, she would have left herself.
What reason could Maya have? If she had a good reason, could Priya forgive that? Why did everyone have a reason to push her to Priyank, the man she just hated, who just hurt her?
No reason could define why everyone had to sacrifice her without understanding her feelings or even trying to take her feelings into consideration.
Priya couldn’t shake off the feeling of betrayal that gnawed at her. Maya, whom she had considered trustworthy, had now shattered that trust. It was a bitter realisation, leaving Priya feeling vulnerable and alone.
As Maya approached her, Priya scrutinised her with a mixture of doubt and hurt. She couldn’t decipher Maya’s true intentions, nor could she comprehend why Maya had chosen to betray her trust.
‘Are these emotions even genuine?’ Priya questioned silently. She couldn’t bring herself to believe that Maya’s happiness at her awakening was sincere, not when Maya had brought Priyank into the picture.
If Maya truly cared about her, why hadn’t she respected Priya’s wishes and kept Priyank away?
The questions swirled in Priya’s mind, each one a sharp reminder of her vulnerability. She felt like a pawn in a game she didn’t understand.
Finally, Maya broke the silence. “Priya, I…” she began, her voice trembling with emotion. “I know you must be angry, and you have every right to be. But please, hear me out.”
Priya remained silent, her expression guarded yet receptive to Maya’s explanation.
“I didn’t bring Priyank here to hurt you,” Maya continued, her words coming out in a rush. “I brought him because… because he’s the only one who can help you, Priya.”
Help. She didn’t want any help like this. Priya could take help from a corpse or become one herself, but she wouldn’t accept so-called help from Priyank.
He made her skin crawl; how could he help her? By giving her trauma?
“Priya, I know it’s tough, but there are a lot of things you don’t know, and it might be hard for you. It’s hard for us too,” Rish entered, followed by Levi, Jackson, and Lima.
Priya looked at them, recognizing everyone except Lima, as she was a new face she hadn’t seen before.
