My Girl

Book:Ruthless Mafia's Innocent Mate Published:2025-2-16

“He is here,”Rish announced, as he entered with Jackson and Priyank.
Priyank’s eyes roamed the room, searching for Priya, and upon seeing the presence of three women, his eyes fall on the bed, he walked toward the bed.
He saw Priya, pale, yet her angelic face still radiated a beauty no one could capture.
His heart beat wildly at the sight of her like this. He vividly remembered how she went into a coma when they were in the penthouse and seeing her like this again brought back those memories.
The intense agony running through his veins was indescribable. He had thought the hospital would be a small place in the middle of the forest where people live.
But seeing this vast forest, and even some houses from the car, shocked him. He couldn’t understand how people could live in a forest without anyone knowing, or else the government wouldn’t allow it.
Setting aside his thoughts, he walked toward Priya’s bed and looked at her, his eyes filled with emotions no one could understand.
Maybe because he wasn’t good at showing his emotions, but seeing her like this crushed the shattered pieces of his heart into ashes. He had always struggled with the fact that she chose to run away.
Now finding her like this, his heart was crying-literally crying, though he hadn’t shed tears since he was a kid.
All he wanted was for Priya to be his, and here he was, meeting her like this.
Punishing her had been on his mind before, but now, seeing her like this, all he wanted was for her to wake up so he could hold her.
He looked her over for any potential injuries but found none. His hands shook, but he tried to control it, not wanting to show weakness in front of so many people. It felt like his knees were turning to jelly, and he couldn’t understand why he felt this way when it was clearly the woman he had his heart set on.
The only person he felt he truly loved after his mother. With his mom, he only felt care, but with Priya, he felt a love beyond measure. He touched Priya, feeling her cold body as if it were in a freezer, with no blood running through her veins.
Putting his fingers on her wrist, he tried to check her pulse to understand what happened. Is she dead? No! He screamed in his head. He could feel her pulse, but her body was as cold as ice.
“Turn on the heater, what the hell,” Priyank spoke as he slipped the quilt up to her neck to warm her.
“It’s already on,” a lady replied.
“I am Maya,” she added.
Priya’s eyes narrowed.
Maya and Levi, who had been observing him since he arrived, were shocked. Lima looking all confused too.
Especially Maya and Levi, as it was not what they had expected from Priyank. Levi still remembered how angry Priyank was at the shop, and Maya had Priya’s words ringing in her head about whatever he did and how ruthless he was.
But now, the way he was shaking and behaving, no matter how much he tried to hold himself together, his panicked state was evident.
It was a sight she hadn’t expected from him, not even after hearing about him. She had formed some mindset about him, which now seemed like an illusion.
Seeing him, she could tell he was bad news, but she could also see the amount of love his body language screamed.
In her life, she had seen many people in love, but there was something very different in Priyank’s demeanor, a love beyond labeling.
Still, it was different, beyond love. The way his eyes, his voice, everything screamed-it was like nothing she had ever seen. Even wolves didn’t behave like this, with their mates.
He was acting like he might lose his breath at any moment. His heart stopped.
Maya was old enough to judge people, her grey hairs showed her wisdom.
She could just tell, by looking at him, that he was dangerous. But for Priya, she didn’t think he was. Even though he had done a lot of terrible things, it didn’t cloud her judgment.
Priyank’s skin crawled as the heat touched his body. He hadn’t noticed the room temperature before, his focus solely on Priya, but now he could feel it.
Priyank’s heart raced as he tried to piece together the situation. He glanced around the room, feeling the weight of everyone’s gaze on him.
Ignoring their scrutiny, Priyank focused on Priya, his mind racing with questions. What had happened to her? Why was she here? And why did she look so… lifeless?
A wave of frustration washed over him as he realized he didn’t have the answers. He had been so focused on finding Priya that he hadn’t prepared himself for this moment. He had imagined countless scenarios of their reunion, but none had prepared him for the sight of her lying so still, her once vibrant presence reduced to a mere shell.
Gathering his resolve, Priyank pushed aside his doubts and fears. He leaned closer to Priya, his hand trembling as he brushed a strand of hair from her face.
Priyank straightened up and turned to Maya. “What happened to her?” he demanded.
“This is all he can do, he knows nothing. Priya lying on the bed like this, surrounded by these strange people in this strange place, and he has no answers. Something and everything are not making sense at the same time.
“She is here because of a curse,” Lima chose to speak, feeling better than before after using her powers, though it took a toll on her.
“A curse?” Priyank repeated, not understanding.
“She is cursed,” Lima clarified.
Priyank’s eyes narrowed. “What did you just say? You better keep your words to yourself. How dare you call her cursed? She is not cursed. My girl is innocent and pure,” he said protectively, standing tall.
“That’s not what she meant,” Levi tried to explain, not wanting to see Priyank angry like he was in the shop that day.
“Then what did she mean? Why are you all acting so cryptic? Before this, Rish and Jackson told me I would figure things out in the hospital, and now this. Tell me clearly what is happening.”
