“Come on, let’s go”
Priyank’s eyes narrowed in a second. Then he looked at Jackson and Rish with distrustful looks. How could he trust these two?
“Do you have any other option?” the voice in his head asked.
He knew he didn’t. This was the only chance, and the way they were saying Priya was in trouble, he couldn’t do anything other than try to trust them.
“Are you coming or not?” Jackson repeated his words in a pissed-off voice. Now, he understood what Maya meant when she was talking about Priyank, and he could see why Priya ran away from this guy.
He wasn’t giving any good vibes at all, but there was something about him that was noteworthy, though Jackson couldn’t quite figure it out.
He just couldn’t drop it, but he couldn’t ignore it either.
But for now, he had to take this guy to the hospital so things could be good for Priya. Other things he could figure out later. What was necessary needed to be done for now.
“Why should I come with you both? I just met you. Can I even trust you? Who knows if you’re lying?” Priyank tried to play the mind game. He might be able to deal with Rish, and physically he could deal with this old man, Jackson.
But there was something in Jackson that spoke too much authority, and Priyank wasn’t feeling good about it.
“Do you have any other way? If you don’t want to come, then do you think you can find Priya?” Jackson rolled his eyes. He just wanted to dig this man’s grave. If it weren’t for the curse, he wouldn’t even be planning to deal with it. It’s just disgusting to deal with humans, maybe way more fucked up when it’s a person like Priyank.
Who thinks the whole world revolves around him, when in reality, the world he lives in doesn’t exist for creatures like Jackson and his community.
Humans are like insects to supernatural beings, and if Priyank thinks he can just fight them, he certainly hasn’t been put in his place, which Jackson doesn’t mind doing, even if he’s in his 50s. He still can take people like Priyank and get them to taste the ground, which they think they own and can walk around, while others will kiss it all.
Priyank clenched his fist. “You can go,” he ordered the driver, knowing it’s better if he just keeps his control for now. It’s the situation that involves him, and no matter how much Priyank hates compromising, here he can’t do anything about it.
He followed Rish and Jackson and sat in their car. Jackson turned on the engine and started driving into the forest on the same path they came from.
Priyank looked around and saw how deep he was in the forest, and that too in a car. It was like a miracle that Priya was in there on just two legs. But it made sense too because even though he hired a lot of people to find Priya, he was unable to do so.
Because who would have thought any human could run in a wild forest like this? Maybe she thought he was worse than an animal, which could be right too.
As he didn’t do anything too good to get himself away from it all.
He did a lot of shit that’s accountable, and they’re probably worse than what animals do in the wild.
At least in Priya’s eyes, that’s what she feels.
Priyank’s mind raced with thoughts as they drove deeper into the forest. He couldn’t shake the feeling of frustration.
As they drove, the dense trees seemed to close in around them, casting eerie shadows over the car. Priyank’s heart pounded in his chest, each beat echoing the fear and uncertainty he felt.
He glanced at Rish and Jackson, both focused on the road ahead. There was an air of determination about them, as if they were on a mission.
“What happened to Priya?” Priyank finally asked, breaking the tense silence in the car.
Jackson glanced at him through the rearview mirror, his expression unreadable. “She’s in danger,” he said curtly. “We need to get to her before it’s too late.”
Priyank’s throat tightened with worry. He knew he had to find her, no matter what it took. He couldn’t bear the thought of anything happening to her.
As they continued driving, Priyank’s mind raced with questions. Who was after Priya? Why did they want her? And most importantly, how could they save her? How do they both even find her?
But for now, all he could do was trust Rish and Jackson to lead him to her.
“How did you both get her?” Priyank asked, his throat tight as he gulped down saliva.
“My mom found her, we helped her. She lived in our cabin for three days,” Rish answered. He wanted to lie, but he knew it was useless. Priyank would uncover things he never even thought existed, so why lie about something so small?
“So if she was with you all, didn’t you remember me? Like calling me? You know I came with her to that shop, you forgot?” Priyank’s voice dripped with anger.
If Priya was with these two people for three days, as Rish said, and with his mother, why didn’t they call him?
“She ran away from you, and she didn’t want to inform you, and we respected her decision,” Rish stated.
“Respected her decision? Then why the hell did you call me now? If she was safe with you, how did she end up in the hospital?” Arrogance dripped from Priyank’s voice as he gripped his seat tightly, turning his knuckles white and red.
Rish exchanged a glance with Jackson before speaking again, his voice softer this time. “We called you because she was hurt, Priyank. Badly hurt. We didn’t know what else to do.”
Priyank’s grip on the seat loosened slightly as he listened, his anger giving way to concern. “Hurt? How badly?”
Jackson sighed heavily, his eyes fixed on the road ahead. “You will see that with your own eyes.”
“Why didn’t you take her to a regular hospital?” Priyank asked, his voice shaky with fear. “Why here, in the forest? I’ve never heard of any hospitals existing in the forest.”
“We live in the forest, so that’s why we took her to a hospital in the forest.”
