“Mom,” Priyank knocked on the window, and the driver immediately unlocked the car so he could enter.
Priyank looked disheveled, his once neatly styled hair now falling on his forehead. The black suit he wore, once fitted perfectly, now had his coat hanging in his hands, and his shirt seemed ready to rip out as his body tensed.
“Son, are you fine?” Daisy asked as soon as Priyank came inside the car, looking all stressed.
She felt bad because she still didn’t want Priya to get caught, even though her own son, her own flesh and blood, would be in distress. But maybe she was selfish on both sides.
If Priya was meant to be with him, she wouldn’t help in escaping. If she wasn’t, then she wouldn’t help him catch her.
Truth be told, she didn’t even know where Priya was, so helping was out of the question already.
“I’ve already put my people to work. You don’t have to worry,” Priyank reassured his mom as he grabbed her hand, trying to relax her, seeing how stressed Daisy looked.
He didn’t know where he went wrong in scaring Priya. Did he not scare her enough? Is that why she tried to run like this?
On their wedding day, no less, and even fooling his mom and tearing the dress. He came here after seeing the restroom, and literally his blood boiled when he saw her blood smeared on the window due to half pieces of glass.
She was hurt, yet she dared to run, that too without any fear?
Since when has she been planning all this? Here he is, since last night after talking to her, waiting so much for the moment.
He just wanted to marry her, even joked about the first night, knowing she is too innocent and won’t understand much.
He can force her to kiss or give a blowjob, but there is no way he will force her into sex. Maybe he could, but he doesn’t want to do it yet.
The whole night yesterday, he was working so he could spend a lot of time with her after marriage, and he didn’t even sleep.
He didn’t even go to his house to see her first look because he wanted to see it at court. That’s why he had his suit delivered to the office early in the morning, and got ready there. For so many hours, he was at the court.
His people could carry out the procedures, but he chose to do it all himself, and then she just escaped like that?
When the driver didn’t pick up his first call, he got stressed. But after talking to him and when he was told that they were stopped somewhere, he thought maybe his mother had some work.
But then, in this situation, Priya literally with her dumb mind came up with such a plan and fooled his mom.
And why wouldn’t she? His mom is innocent too; anyone can easily fool her.
When the call came again and his mom sounded stressed, he thought someone had attacked them.
He knows his mom doesn’t take many guards with her, and today is his marriage, so he didn’t force her to take more.
The car is already bulletproof and fireproof, so no matter what, it would be safe.
Then all the information hit him. Only he knows how much it took him to sound soft when all he wanted to do was scream like a crazy person, because that’s what he was feeling.
Where did she get this courage? That’s what he was thinking while he was sitting in his car, trying to reach here.
He couldn’t wrap his head around how Priya managed to pull off such a daring escape. As he was in his car, racing to the scene, a whirlwind of emotions engulfed him. Anger, frustration, and disbelief warred within him.
He had invested so much into their relationship, planning every detail for their marriage, and she just vanished into thin air. The thought of her outsmarting him, even for a moment, fueled his fury.
But beneath the anger was a pang of hurt. He couldn’t shake off the feeling of betrayal. After all, he had trusted her, and believed in their future together. And yet, here he was, chasing after her on the day they were supposed to begin their life together.
“Priyank, didn’t I tell you? You shouldn’t force her to marry. See now what is happening. I told you to give her time, but you didn’t listen,” Daisy spoke calmly, not wanting to sound like she was blaming him.
Partly she knows her words do sound like that, and to be true, it’s not hidden. If he had taken it slow, maybe the situation would be different, at least not as bad as it is now.
“Mom, do you think she wouldn’t run in another situation? She always wanted to run away, no matter how much time I gave her, she is…” Priyank stopped, not wanting to curse in front of his mother like he did on the call, which he regrets now.
He never likes to sound disrespectful in front of his mother, no matter what.
“Still, it wouldn’t be like this. It would be better than her running away. We don’t even know if she’s safe,” Daisy softly spoke.
Priyank sighed heavily, feeling the weight of his mother’s words. She had warned him countless times about Priya’s reluctance, but he had brushed it off, convinced that she would eventually come around.
Now, faced with the reality of Priya’s escape , he couldn’t help but feel a sense of loss.
He couldn’t deny the pang of anger he felt towards Priya. How could she run away like this, leaving him and his mother like this?
Daisy reached out and placed a hand on Priyank’s shoulder, her touch a gentle reassurance. “It will be fine, hopefully.”
“That’s definitely going to happen,” Priyank said with determination.
He knew one thing for sure: even if he had to turn this whole state, even the country, upside down within twenty – four hours, he would find her. And once he did, he would show her that escaping shouldn’t be the option she chose.
He had already warned her before that he didn’t trust people easily, and yet he had somehow trusted her. He had told her not to even think about pulling anything, not to wake up the side of him she wouldn’t be able to handle.
But she did.
So now she would face the consequences.
