Heck

Book:Ruthless Mafia's Innocent Mate Published:2025-2-16

Daisy doesn’t know how to feel about the whole situation, her heart beating so fast, her body sweating, as she can’t see Priya.
But that’s not the whole issue because she knows, once Priyank is informed, he will dig Priya out from any corner of the world, nothing is going to stop it.
What she is scared about, what will come after that.
What will happen to Priya, no one can save Priya, she can only pray, only that Priyank never finds Priya, maybe her son will be angry and not happy, but at least worse won’t happen.
Priya won’t get hurt, she can only hope for that now.
“Mam, here,” the driver put the phone on call as he handed it over to Daisy, not having guts in himself to say anything.
Knowing this escape will even cost him, who knows he might lose his life too, when it’s even his mistake.
If it were up to him, he wouldn’t even be stopping anywhere, but clearly he can’t defy Daisy’s orders, and that’s why he even stopped at the gas station, and it won’t be happening like this.
“Hello, mom,” Priyank picked up the call as he spoke.
Daisy bites her lips, puts it in her ear, and breathes heavily. “Priyank..” she gasped.
“What happened, mom? Are you alright? Why are you breathing like this? Has something happened?” Priyank’s soft voice immediately turned into a panic.
Daisy, who was literally running around to find Priya, didn’t feel fatigue at that time but now everything is crushing her body, after hearing Priyank’s voice.
“I am fine,” Daisy paused. “But something happened.”
“Mom, why are you building a mystery? Tell me what happened. If you are fine, did something happen to Priya? Is she fine?” Priyank again questioned.
“I don’t know how she is, I just don’t,” Daisy clenched the phone so hard her hand started turning white.
“Exactly what happened, mom? She is with you, how do you not know how she is? Let me talk with her,” Priyank half yelled.
“She ran away,” Daisy dropped the bomb, closing her eyes, trying to hold onto herself, even though it’s her own son.
She is scared, scared for Priya. Things won’t be like how Priya thought before running away.
That’s why she felt something was not right when Priya was all in her mind, but this is exactly what she was not feeling.
“What the heck..” Priyank cursed from the other side, without any care that his mom was hearing him. “How did she escape from the car? Where did you even stop the car? And why did you let her out of it? Mom, what is happening?”
“She wanted to pee, that’s why we stopped the car at the gas station, and she escaped from the restroom by breaking the window and ripping her wedding dress, as the cloth was all over the place on the floor,” Daisy immediately explained.
“Shit!” Priyank exclaimed. “Why didn’t you go with her?”
Daisy’s voice trembled. “I tried, but she said she wanted to do it alone. I didn’t want to seem like I was invading her privacy.”
“And now see how she ran away. What privacy, Mom? How could you let her go to the restroom alone?” Priyank demanded.
“I don’t know,” Daisy admitted, tears welling up in her eyes. “I’ve been searching everywhere, but I can’t find her.”
Priyank’s tone softened. “Okay, stay calm, Mom. I’ll come there right away. Stay where you are.”
“Okay.”
*Bip! Bip!*
As soon as the words left Daisy’s mouth, Priyank cut off the call. She released the deep breath she was holding, looked around, trying to catch sight of Priya, but she knew she had literally lost her.
She knows his tone softened not because he’s calm, but it’s the calm before the storm, and she knows it will sweep away Priyank.
“Mam, what are we going to do?” The driver asked.
Daisy handed him his phone back. “I don’t know. We have to wait in the car until Priyank comes.”
“Sir is going to kill me, mam,” The driver trembled hard, speaking the truth, taking the phone back, and putting it inside his pocket.
Daisy looked at the old driver’s trembling figure. The staff that works in their mansion is mostly old or has been working there for many years, and everyone knows how Priyank’s temper is.
She could deny this statement in other cases, but knowing this situation, it wouldn’t be a shock if Priyank did something like this.
‘You can’t let him. It’s a sin to kill,’ Daisy reminded herself. She could bear anything, but killing is out of the question.
She knows Priyank can’t do anything to her because she is his mom, but that doesn’t mean he won’t hurt the driver too.
“I am here. It’s not even your mistake. I was the one who made you stop the car, so don’t worry.”
The driver nodded, but his hands still shook as he gripped the steering wheel tightly.
Daisy tried to calm herself, thinking of what to do next. Priyank would be there soon.
“I have to do something to help Priya, even though I don’t know where she is,” Daisy said, mostly to herself.
The driver looked at her nervously. “Mam, what are you talking about? Sir is going to be angry at you too.”
Daisy thought for a moment. “I know.”
She didn’t speak further because she didn’t want to show or tell that she would help Priya. This wouldn’t look good, and she didn’t even know what she could do, but she had to do something so Priya could have more time to escape somewhere.
What she was scared about was that Priya didn’t even have money. She was sure about that. Or maybe she did? Yesterday she went to the orphanage, maybe she got the money from Mary?
Still, she wasn’t sure about that, and if Priya didn’t have money, it was going to be even harder.
Daisy glanced at her watch, feeling the weight of the situation pressing down on her. Priyank would arrive any minute now, and she had to brace herself for his reaction, which she knew wouldn’t be normal.
“We should sit inside the car. You’re going to get your health affected like this, mam. Let’s sit.”
