Priya sighed as she heard his words, sounding like he wouldn’t let her go and stick to his point until she allowed him to check her wounds and bandage her.
She scooted a bit closer to him and stretched her neck forward so he could see her forehead and the side of her face that got injured when he smashed her into the wall that day.
To be true, it didn’t hurt as much as it did when she woke up from the coma now.
“That’s like my girl,” Priyank praised as he started removing the bandage from her forehead.
‘Not your girl though,’ she remarked in her head.
After unwrapping the bandage, he looked at her head; the wounds were better than before.
And why wouldn’t they be? When she was in a coma, he made sure to apply ointments to her face and head.
“I think this doesn’t need a bandage; I will just apply antiseptic. It’s nearly healed already,” Priyank spoke as he creased the wound, feeling pain inside his heart because he caused the pain to her.
He did feel good when he hurt her in anger and showed her that she couldn’t cross him, but still, at the same time, when he returned to normal, his emotions made him feel guilty to even lay a finger on his fragile Angel.
“That’s good,” Priya nonchalantly answered.
As soon as she heals, she will leave this place. Or maybe at least make a plan to run away.
Priyank smiled as he pulled out antiseptic from the first aid box and started cleaning and applying some ointments on the remaining wounds she had.
“Can I call Mother Mary? I really want to talk to her. Maybe I can tell her I am with you. I thought about it, and it’s already been more than three days today; I am not with her. She will be dying with stress, and that will affect her health,” Priya looked at him with soft expressions, her words laid out carefully.
Before, when he suggested that she should tell Mary she is with him, she thought it would stress Mary more. But now she was in a coma, and it’s been a long time already.
Other plans she didn’t have, so it’s better if she tells the truth at least; that will show Mary that she is safe.
“Hhm!” Priyank’s eyes scanned her face as he saw how she was looking at him with anticipation. “You can talk to her.”
He removed his hands from her face and pulled out his phone, unlocking it, and giving it to her.
For sure, he didn’t want her to talk to Mary, but when she says that she will tell Mary she is with him, it would be fairly good fun, and he can’t miss the fun of her reaction.
Priya hesitated for a moment, holding the phone in her hand. She dialled Mary’s number, her heart pounding with a mix of nervousness and determination.
After a few rings, Mary’s voice came through the line, sounding concerned, “Hello? Who?”
Priya took a deep breath, trying to steady her voice, “it’s me. Priya.”
There was a pause on the other end, followed by a rush of relief in Mary’s voice, “Oh, thank goodness! Where have you been? Are you okay?”
Priya glanced at Priyank, who was watching her closely, his expression unreadable. She swallowed hard before answering, “I’m… I’m with Priyank.”
There was a sharp intake of breath from Mary, “With Priyank? Why? What happened?”
Priya hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. She glanced at Priyank again, who raised an eyebrow as if daring her to spill the truth.
Taking a deep breath, Priya explained, “I… I had an accident. Priyank found me and… he’s been taking care of me.”
Mary’s voice softened with concern, “Oh, Priya, I’m so sorry to hear that. Are you alright? Do you need me to come over?”
Priya glanced at Priyank, who shook his head imperceptibly. She replied, “No, Mary, I’m fine. Priyank has been taking good care of me. I just wanted to let you know that I’m safe.”
There was a moment of silence on the other end of the line before Mary spoke again, her voice filled with worry, “Please, Priya, be careful. If you need anything, anything at all, just let me know, okay?”
Priya nodded, her throat tight with emotion, “I will, Mother Mary. Thank you.”
“What, thank you. How did he even get you? I don’t know if he is hearing me, but I swear if he hurts you again, I am surely going to kill him,” Mary’s voice laced with anger.
Priya knows being with Priyank is something Mary won’t even believe. At first, she reacted a bit calmly because she got to know that Priya is safe. Now, hitting with the fact she is with Priyank, that’s clearly stirring things.
“I am hearing, old hag. You should mind your voice and tone. Didn’t you just before talk like you’re so grateful? And didn’t you hear that Priya had an accident and I am helping her?” Priyank chuckled as he spoke, so Mary could hear him.
Clearly, he didn’t expect Priya to come up with such a great lie, but it’s all dumb too. How did someone get in an accident in a cafe? She is too innocent to even lie any better.
“Priyank, son, can you hear me?” the other voice softly asked.
“Mom,” Priyank gasped in shock as he took the phone from Priya’s hands. He never thought Mary would be his mother.
And it’s been a long time too; he hasn’t even connected with his mom. He knows she would be stressed about him. But all he was busy with was Priya, so he didn’t want to hold things up.
“Yes, Priyank, you know how stressed we’ve been. For so long, we’ve been trying to find you both,” Daisy answered, her voice strained with stress.
Priyank, without seeing his mom, could tell how much she was stressed.
“I am sorry, Mom, things… mhm… they’re complicated,” Priyank paused in his words. “They’re fine now.”
He didn’t want to talk about the whole coma thing. Not good at all.
“Why did you take Priya with you? Where are you? Nobody knows. You know how Mary and I have been searching for you both day and night. You literally took her away from the cafe and didn’t even come to our house.”
