“So she has been doing it abroad,” Mollie concluded, enlarging the video details. “But she has adjusted only her chin and cheekbones. If you’re not a professional, it’s almost impossible to tell.”
Having spent a lot of time around Bridger, she had seen many different women and had developed a keen eye for such details.
“Are you sure?” Callie frowned.
Mollie leaned against the railing, the breeze adding to her allure. “I’m very sure. She had plastic surgery, not to become prettier but to change her original appearance, to become…”
Mollie was uncertain and couldn’t finish her sentence.
Callie, however, had a hunch. “Thank you. You’ve been a great help. I’ll treat you to dinner another day.”
Mollie didn’t let her leave and asked, “Is it true about you and Jamir?”
Callie sighed, “You’re so gossipy.”
“I’m not gossiping; I’m curious,” Mollie analyzed. “Before the news about you and Jamir, there was a lot of buzz about Nelson and Charlotte. It’s hard not to suspect that you’re doing this to spite him.”
Callie found it ironic. “Spite him for what? If he doesn’t care at all, then my actions are meaningless.”
Mollie shook her finger. “Nelson returned to Ylosea before you did. He met Bridger this morning.”
Callie was surprised. “So soon?”
Mollie was intrigued. “Your expression shows you still love him.”
Hearing this, Callie recalled how he had punished her in the car last night and felt a surge of anger. “Don’t disgust me.”
Mollie laughed and hugged her. “Seeing you’re okay puts my mind at ease. I was really worried when I heard about your divorce.”
The light but warm hug brought a touch of warmth to Callie’s long-cold heart, almost bringing her to tears. “Thank you.”
This gesture made her completely trust Mollie.
“Actually, I have another favor to ask,” Callie said, taking out a file folder. “There are three samples inside. I need DNA tests on two of them and the one with white hair separately.”
She had initially wanted to ask Regan for help but couldn’t wait any longer.
Mollie glanced at the samples, which were labeled, and was somewhat shocked. “You suspect…”
Callie nodded. “I’m not sure yet. I hope you can keep this confidential. My identity is too conspicuous, so I have no other choice.”
After recovering from her shock, Mollie slowly nodded. “I’ll handle it for you.”
Callie thanked her and added, “If possible, it’s best to go to a neighboring city. I don’t trust institutes in Ylosea…”
Mollie understood. “I’ll get back to you within three days.”
As Callie left the club, she received a message from Regan: What’s going on with you and Jamir? It’s all over Ylosea.
Are you back?
Callie only replied: It’s nothing now.
On the other side of the gossip headlines was financial news.
Oconnor Group’s bottom-fishing caught foreign investors off guard, prompting the Securities Regulatory Commission to investigate major companies for insider trading. Scott Group was the first to be investigated, and Jaquan was taken away for questioning.
Originally, Oconnor Group had suffered heavy losses due to the photo scandal, but now Scott Group’s newly gained benefits also vanished.
Neither side achieved an absolute victory.
At this moment, photos and videos of Marilyn passionately kissing a stranger in a bar surfaced, dealing another blow to Scott Group.
