Chapter 2007: Selection

Book:The All-powerful Son-In-Law Published:2025-2-16

Leo had yet to use the horn and blood essence of the Gold Horned Kirin Leopard he obtained. The Dragon Sword was still at the level of a high-grade spiritual weapon.
The hilt of the Dragon Sword could be refined and fused with the horn of the Gold Horned Kirin Leopard, but the blade still required an exceptional material.
Thus, the upgrade of the Dragon Sword was temporarily put on hold by Leo.
With so many precious minerals in this treasury, finding a primary material for forging the blade should not be difficult.
At that moment, Leo’s eyes searched among the precious minerals.
Soon, Leo found what he was looking for, a rare mineral called Cold Spirit Moonlight Stone.
Cold Spirit Moonlight Stone, with its ice attribute, was lightweight and resilient, making it an excellent material for refining top-grade spiritual weapons or even higher-level Spirit Treasures.
With the horn of the Gold Horned Kirin Leopard, the Cold Spirit Moonlight Stone, and the blood essence of the Gold Horned Kirin Leopard along with other mineral materials, it was enough to refine the Dragon Sword into a more powerful top-grade spiritual weapon.
“Your Majesty, for the second item, I choose this.” Leo said, summoning the Cold Spirit Moonlight Stone into his hand with a gesture.
The Emperor of Martial Dynasty nodded with a smile.
Storing the Cold Spirit Moonlight Stone in his Storage Sack, they continued forward.
“Lord Leo, this is the spiritual weapon section,” the Emperor said timely.
This time, Leo directly released his divine sense to scan the area.
From the feedback of his divine sense, Leo learned that seventy percent of the spiritual weapons here were high-grade spiritual weapons, and thirty percent were top-grade spiritual weapons.
As for Spirit Treasures, none were found.
Several top-grade spiritual weapons tempted Leo.
However, Leo was confident in refining his Dragon Sword into a top-grade spiritual weapon or even a Spirit Treasure, so he suppressed the idea of choosing a top-grade spiritual weapon.
Passing through the spiritual weapon section, they came to stone platforms emitting various lights from Spirit Scrolls.
“Lord Leo, this is our royal family’s ancient technique section,” the Emperor of Martial Dynasty said.
Leo nodded and looked at a Spirit Scroll on a nearby stone platform.
The Spirit Scroll displayed a few lines of small text as an introduction: Fire Thunder Palm, a mid-stage fourth-grade technique, with one palm strike, it is fierce and domineering, capable of splitting mountains and seas…
Leo’s eyes lit up. He did not expect that even a randomly chosen Spirit Scroll here would be a mid-stage fourth-grade technique.
Continuing to browse, Leo saw techniques like Howling Sky Sword Technique, Heaven and Earth Slash, Divine Dragon Phantom Step, and Heaven Finger, ranging from fourth to fifth grade.
Even though Leo practiced Nine Transformations of the Stars, he was still tempted by the various techniques on these Spirit Scrolls.
At the end of his browsing, three Spirit Scrolls recording sixth-grade techniques caught Leo’s attention.
Soon, Leo selected one of them.
The Spirit Scroll recorded a technique named Dragon Elephant Divine Art, a high-level sixth-grade technique.
Upon closer inspection, this Dragon Elephant Divine Art was actually two techniques combined into one.
One was called Dragon Elephant Illusion Spirit Art. Using spiritual power to perform this technique could manifest the spirits of a true dragon and a fierce elephant, capable of shattering mountains and rivers and breaking through voids.
The other was called Dragon Elephant Sky Howl Art. It was a sonic attack where dragon roars and elephant trumpets could shake the heavens and cause enemies’ internal organs to tremble and their minds to falter.
Seeing Leo staring at the Spirit Scroll recording Dragon Elephant Divine Art for a long time, the Emperor smiled and asked, “Lord Leo, have you taken a liking to this Dragon Elephant Divine Art?”
“Indeed,” Leo nodded.
“Dragon Elephant Divine Art may be a high-level sixth-grade technique, but if mastered, its power is comparable to seventh-grade techniques.”
“However, its cultivation difficulty is extremely high. Even upper-level Spirit Saints or peak-level Spirit Saints find it hard to master.”
“Especially Dragon Elephant Sky Howl Art; it causes significant damage to the throat. Continuous use might even render one unable to speak. Additionally, this technique requires high physical strength and robust internal organs. Some Body Cultivator experts might succeed in cultivating it.”
The Emperor of Martial Dynasty shared all he knew while looking at Leo.
“Thank you for your reminder, Your Majesty. I will choose it,” Leo replied firmly.
The drawbacks mentioned by the Emperor were not an issue for Leo.
The throat damage could be treated with self-made elixirs. As for physical strength and internal organs, Leo’s practice of Nine Transformations of the Stars had already made his physique comparable to Body Cultivators of the same level.
With a gesture of his right hand, Leo grabbed the Spirit Scroll recording Dragon Elephant Divine Art.
After selecting three items, Leo and his companions left the royal treasury.
The Emperor of Martial Dynasty reclaimed the Golden Lion Token as the massive stone door closed behind them.
“Lord Leo, what are your plans next?” The Emperor asked while standing on the stone steps outside the treasury.
“I plan to stay in the capital for about ten days,” Leo thought for a moment and said.
A gleam flashed in the Emperor’s eyes as if he had guessed something. “Lord Leo, are you planning to visit that unnamed island on Star Moon Lake where a Pill Sovereign resides?”
Leo replied frankly, “Indeed, I have such plans.”
“Lord Leo’s extraordinary talent will surely yield great rewards on that island,” said the Emperor before changing his tone. “Would Lord Leo be interested in becoming the vice president of our Martial Dynasty Alchemist Association?”
This invitation surprised Leo somewhat.
After thinking for a moment, Leo shook his head and politely declined. “Thank you for your kind offer, Your Majesty. I have many commitments and not enough time.”
“I see. Then I won’t insist,” said the Emperor with a hint of disappointment on his face.
Looking at the Emperor earnestly, Leo said, “Your Majesty, if you ever need my assistance in the future, just let me know.”
This statement wiped away the disappointment from the Emperor’s face as he smiled. “Then I thank you in advance.”
“Your Majesty is too kind.”
Treating Princess Lyra’s injury had indeed been challenging, but the Emperor’s rewards were generous: a Nine Colored Hidden Spirit Flower, a Cold Spirit Moonlight Stone, and Dragon Elephant Divine Art!
In fact, one Nine Colored Hidden Spirit Flower would have been sufficient as compensation. The Emperor’s generosity in allowing him to choose three items clearly indicated his intent to establish good relations with Leo.
Leo was no fool. Having received such benefits, it was only natural to offer some promises in return.
Moreover, the Emperor of Martial Dynasty genuinely valued Leo highly.
At such a young age, he was already a Fourth-rank Alchemist and proficient in formations. Given time, his future prospects were limitless. Befriending him was all gain and no loss.
“Lord Leo, you have cured Lyra’s illness this time. I am very grateful. Coincidentally, a new mansion has just been completed outside the palace. I would like to gift it to you as your residence in the capital,” said the Emperor with a smile.
“Thank you very much,” Leo accepted without hesitation.
A mansion meant little to the Emperor but was something Leo needed for his cultivation now.
Additionally, having a residence in Martial Dynasty’s capital would serve as a base and make it easier to visit that unnamed island on Star Moon Lake later.
