Chapter 68
She called him a coward, a jerk, and many unprintable names, and that made him grow angry.
“Go ahead, kill me!”
Federico walked out of the room angrily. She was beginning to grow wild and couldn’t be tamed anymore and he looked for ways to break her. He could feel her slipping through his hands but couldn’t help it.
He thought of harming his son but quickly kicked that notion away.
Instead of that, he called a meeting with his son and sent him away to meet his friend in the neighbouring pack. His excuse was that so that they could solidify the bond between them and in case of future attacks.
Thomas asked after Azaleas but Federico challenged him and asked why he was asking after her.
Thomas gave a flimsy excuse and he laughed at him inwardly.
He made a proverb about cutting people who decided to encroach and Thomas was confused.
He told him about a man who loved his brother’s property and did his best to take it, but he ended up losing his life.
Thomas replied, ” What if the brother is the original owner and his elder brother is just taking advantage? I will fight for my rights.
Federico’s Pov.
I stood there in shock, I never believed that a day like this would come when she would talk back to me with such audacity, not minding the fact that I beat her a few weeks back.
Yet she had the nerve to stand in front of me and let loose her words.
I was so angry at the way she barked at my face with no fear.
Out of all the emotions I felt staring at her insulting me, disappointment was the one I felt even more.
It struck me at once that I didn’t cut her wings well enough, I felt so disappointed in myself and in my wolf as the Alpha.
I should have seen this disrespect coming when I saw her hiding shamelessly in Thomas’s cupboard.
“Are you not going to say anything, you coward!” Azaleas said as she punched my chest.
I just stood there, the anger in me tripled at this sight.
“You are a pathetic loser, a jerk, yes! That is what you are!” She cursed continuously.
“Alpha Federico” she mocked…”what a shame!”.
At this point I couldn’t contain my fury anymore, I held her by the neck squeezing it.
“Go ahead you monster! Kill me!” Azaleas shouted at the top of her voice.
I felt so angry that my hold on her didn’t help keep her mouth shut so I angrily stepped out of the room.
I went into her room with such joy only to be insulted like a commoner.
Her wings were growing immensely and her mouth was like a loose tap.
Azaleas were beginning to grow wild and couldn’t be tamed anymore by bare shouts and hits but I needed to cut those wings of hers before it spread and caused me more harm than good.
She was slowly slipping through my fingers and I couldn’t do anything about it.
“Or should I apologise?” I thought but no that’s a crazy idea cause she hates my guts.
I walked back to my room and shut the door, I walked straight to the front of my mirror.
“Why.. why did I hit her?” I asked for my reflection from the mirror.
She was a sweet girl in every aspect especially when it came to matters of the night.
I cursed myself “why.. why???” I said as I used my fist to hit the corner of my cheeks.
I was already bleeding then I paused, still standing in front of the mirror.
I used my thumb to pick up some of the blood that was dripping from my lips.
I rubbed it on the mirror and stared at it for a long time.
“Or should I put an end to Thomas?” The thought hit me.
No that can’t solve anything, he’s my only heir. I can’t possibly do that because of a seemingly good bed warmer.
“Guards!” I called out with an angry tone.
One of the guards ran to my room and bowed in respect.
“Get me Thomas” I ordered.
I went into the washroom to clean my bleeding lips.
Soon after Thomas was seated in my room, I walked out of the washroom, cleaning my face with a little white face towel.
“You sent for me,” Thomas said and stood up the moment I walked in.
“Yes, I need you to go to the neighbouring packs. I sense an attack coming not too far from now, so I need us to make peace with the packs, we need them on our side now more than ever” I explained.
“You now sense wars and attacks? Alpha’s can do that?” Thomas said in mockery.
“Don’t test me, son, do as you are told” I said and walked to my dressing table and reached out for my most exotic cologne.
“Okay, I’ll take your leave,” Thomas said and turned to leave but paused at the doorway.
“I almost forgot, How is Azaleas?” He asked and I felt my nerves build up.
“Why are you asking?” I said and dropped the perfume on the dressing table, shifting my attention to Thomas.
“Susan said that her favourite birds came by the garden today ” he said.
I wasn’t still sure I birthed this young man named Thomas because even the domestic dogs will give a far better excuse than what he just uttered unprovoked.
“A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush,” I said with a smile.
” You know son,” I said and walked up to him and put my right hand on his left shoulder.
“There is this popular story about two brothers and one who tried to steal his older brother’s inheritance but he was killed ruthlessly, in the most painful way possible”. I said and rubbed my palms together, stepping back.
“What if the older brother was just too greedy and tried to have his younger brother’s property all to himself, what then?” Thomas asked with a firm voice.
He always finds a way to get on my nerves on each passing day and this day was no different.
