ANASTASIA
SPLASH! I swam into the pool, paddling my legs until I was back at the surface for air again.
The coolness of the water really got to me real hard. It made my skin feel so refresh.
Just when I popped out, my step sister came swimming out from my left hand side, swaying her head to get the water off her face.
She’s only swimming along with me because our Alphas decided to have a chat and watch us bath in the pool. I didn’t want Casey joining me but it’s better than having Damian inside the water, hovering around like a shark.
My protective Alpha had to sacrifice his fun to keep my Ex away from me. He felt that was better, since I wanted to have a swim.
“Oh Goddess! Maybe I should join a swimming competition and become a champion,” Casey said, stretching out her arms proudly.
“Is that another game the hotel hosts for wealthy guests?” I asked, rolling my eyes at her.
She chuckled and responded, ” No, they don’t run that here. I’m just thinking about taking up such an activity.”
“Right, I see,” I said, fake-smiling at her.
She’s just blabbing about something she knows she can never get done.
Not ready to hear another of her nonsense, I dipped myself into the water and swam again to the other end of the pool. When I got out, I grabbed the side and pulled myself up to have a seat.
Cassandra came after me. She looked like a predator who’s trying to capture the prey by all means. She swam out and sat next to me, squeezing the water out of her hair.
When a waiter came by, I immediately ordered for two drinks. I had no choice but to include her.
“Thank you sis. You’re too kind,” She appreciated, still attending to her wet hair.
I hummed, taking my attention to both Diego and Damian. They were still talking, and from what I’m seeing, I think Damian was getting tired.
He had his eyes falling at our point over and over again.
He won’t get that chance to swim with me. Even if he wants to, I’ll just call it a day and run over to my Alpha.
“You know, Damian and Diego look like brothers from this point,” Cassandra said, pointing at both men.
She didn’t even care if someone else in the pool mistakes her action as calling out to them, she just directed her hand at the guys.
“No one would even know that they’re just two different people who met thanks to us,” She giggled.
They both saw when Casey pointed, and Diego waved his hands, looking right at me.
I smiled, ready to wave back, but Cassandra stole that moment and swayed her hand in the air, thinking Diego was actually returning the gesture to her.
“Such a sweet man. He’s going to make a lovely husband,” She commented, grinning at me.
I hummed at her words, rolling my eyes again at her drama.
I really can’t stand her anymore, honestly.
“Your drinks,” The waiter said, serving us both.
“Thank you so much,” I appreciated him, taking both drinks for Casey and I.
I handed my step sister her own glass and she immediately grabbed it to take a drink.
While sitting and taking in the sun, Casey suddenly cleared her throat and began to talk again.
Like, it was beginning annoying just listening to her blabber about this or that, or even about me!
Well this time, her topic wasn’t about me but about a party she’s going to attend with Damian.
“It’s going to be wonderful. I want you to come along with us. You’re going to love it for sure,” She invited, placing her hand on my shoulder.
Politely, I replied, “Oh, thank you Casey, but I won’t have the time for that.”
“No time? Please don’t say that, Anna. This party is a must for you. It’s taking place in two days time. It’s on the thirtieth of this month,” She said.
“You know how important the thirtieth is, right?”
Okay, why is she mentioning that date? I know it’s going to be thirtieth in two… Oh Goddess! That’s… That’s Father’s birth date!
My heart skipped when I realized this. My father is celebrating his birthday in two days time! Is that the party Casey is talking about?
Looking right at my step sister, she gave this smile which immediately confirmed my question.
That’s the party she’s inviting me to. They want to celebrate Father’s birthday.
Goodness, I feel… I feel left out.
Due to my silence, Casey was able to tell that I got the message behind the date she mentioned. Then she said, “It’s not just going to be about his birthday but a day to celebrate his success as a business man. Daddy bagged a great deal in the business project he went to work on, and now he wants to celebrate that victory on his birthday.”
She sipped out of her drink and called the party, ” Double Celebration! Gosh, I can’t wait to attend.”
“Yeah, that’s… That’s indeed a double celebration,” I responded with a low voice, feeling… Sad.
I can’t believe I almost forgot about my own Father’s month. It was like my number one duty as his daughter.
When it’s his birthday, I would wake up really early to prepare something nice for him to eat, and be the first to wish him well.
Linda and Casey always remembered late. I was the one who always reminded them about his special day, so that they won’t feel left out.
But now… I totally forgot.
“Mother decided to travel down to Father’s location and make preparations for his party. She told me to be there so we can get things set for him. That’s why I’m inviting you over to join us,” She said, caressing my shoulder.
“You know we can’t do this without you, Anna. Who knows, father might find a place in his heart and forgive you for what happened,” She said, faking care for me.
My heart was aching on hearing this. It made me wish father and I were in good terms again and that this devil and her mother were gone for good.
But with them around, I don’t think I can come to that party. Not even that, I bet the location is far from us, and my Alpha is on a mission here in Northern Lights.
I can’t leave Diego and travel down to Father’s party.
“So, what do you say? Should I call Mom and…”
“No, thanks Casey. Like I said, I’ll be busy,” I interrupted, making my decision clear.
Casey groaned at my reply. She didn’t look pleased.
“Anna, this is father we’re talking about. Look, forget what happened and just drive down to the venue with us. It won’t take your time. You can just see father, wish him well, and head back to whatever busy work you’re doing! I’m sure Diego will understand.”
“You’re saying drive here and drive there like the venue is a close one,” I chuckled, about to take my drink. Only for Cassandra to stun me next, saying, “The venue isn’t far from us. It’s here in Northern Lights.”
“What?” I turned to face her in surprise.
She hummed with a nod and explained, ” Father came to Northern Lights to work. This is where he traveled to for business. Oh, I didn’t mention it to you?” She asked, acting all innocent.
“I thought I made mention of it at your place? Oh, silly me!”
My father is here in this pac? Meaning… Meaning I can still meet him and… Oh Goddess! I can feel my body tingling just thinking about him.
I really want to see him.
“You can see it’s not far. The place is actually located in the busy side of this pack. The party is going to be held in N. L’s special room. It’s a tall building, like a skyscraper… Just come with Diego, please!” She held my hand, begging me to give in.
The temptation was getting to me. This is a chance for me to see my father and tell him what happened. He needs to know what Linda and Casey have done to his favorite child!
But… “That’s great to hear sis, but like I said, I can’t,” I rejected the invite, leaving Casey upset.
Who knows, maybe this is another trick of theirs to get to me. I don’t know… I just don’t feel comfortable with all these.
“Okay,” Casey just shrugged it off like it’s nothing, gulping down her drink till the glass was empty.
” It’s fine. I’ll just pass the greetings over to him on your behalf.”
“I think there’s no need for…”
She jumped back into the pool with a splash and began to swim back to where the Alphas sat.
She didn’t allow me to finish my statement.
But I shoved that aside, thinking about this plan for my father. I’m still surprised that he’s here in Northern Lights pack. She said he’s close.
“Father,” I called softly, feeling the sadness in my heart for my old man.
He doesn’t know what is happening. He’s unaware of the truth.
And now that he’s holding a party here in the pack… “I want to see him,” I craved, wrapping my arms across my chest.
Lifting my eyes to the point where Diego sat with Damian, I saw Casey engaging them with talks. But my Alpha’s eyes where on me.
He looked concerned, like he could read the trouble swelling inside of me. His eyes beckoned me over and I just got out of the pool, walking around to meet him.
When I got close, Diego, who had his arm stretched out, carefully received me into his hold by making me sit on his lap.
I had my back against Damian and Casey. They were talking about the hunting game Casey spoke of earlier to Henry and I, suggesting that we take part in it.
While they were talking, I laid down on Diego’s chest, cuddling myself on him.
Then he asked, not making it obvious to those two demons, “What’s wrong?”
“I don’t feel too good. I… I’ll head back to the hotel room,” I decided, getting to my feet to leave.
Diego stared at me. He wanted to hold me back, but held back.
I just smiled and told him to relax some more, since he needed it more than I do.
When Casey saw this, she immediately asked, ” Are you leaving? We were just about to have a race, all four of us.”
“I have something important to work on. But if I’m free, I’ll try and join in,” I faked a promise, leaving the pool ground.
I didn’t bother to look at Diego’s face. I know his eyes are on me, and if I turn to look at him, he’ll sense that I’m over thinking about something and come after me.
For now, I just want to head back inside and relax.
Stepping into the hotel, I was making my way to the lift when out of nowhere, I was pulled into a corner by a strong grip!
I shrieked at this sudden force but went quiet on feeling a hand covering my mouth to keep me shut.
When I opened my eyes and took a look at my captor, I found Henry.
The Billionaire had a smile on his face, as he slowly took his hand off my mouth, apologizing for startling me.
“I just wanted to get your attention,” He said, sliding his hands down from my arms to my fingers.
When I ran my eyes on him, I realized he was still hard down there!
The sight of his cock pointing right at me made me uncomfortable. Now I can’t tell if he’s planning on making me have sex with him right here or what!
In anyways, I just don’t like the vibe I’m getting.
“I’m sorry about that. I had an urgent work to face, that’s why I left in a hurry. Alpha Damian just came in and took out the fun.”
“Yeah, he did,” I said, watching his hands reach for my hips to feel them.
Not ready for a shiver, I held Henry’s hands immediately and giggled, playing with the horny wolf.
“Are you telling me that you’ve been waiting here for me? Why didn’t you come over to the pool?” I asked, glancing down at his cock then at his sweaty face.
He smirked and replied, aiming to pin me against the wall, “I didn’t want Damian distracting me, and your Alpha is there. That’s why I was waiting for the heavens to bless me with a moment with you, and she did.”
“I’ve been waiting for you to come by so we can resume from where we stopped.”
I chuckled at this and immediately pulled away from the wall, so that he won’t have the chance to use his strength and pin me down.
