“Damian, it’s Anna my sister! Oh Goddess!” Casey busted out, covering her mouth out of joy, while Damian just stood there staring.
He couldn’t say a word.
Same thing with me.
I just stood there stunned to the core!
The scent I was picking came from Damian. No wonder it felt so familiar and troubling!
“Anna, where have you been?!” Casey faked tears, dropping her whole body on me for a tight hug. “Mom told me what happened with you and father. I was so hurt, Sis. Mom and I were worried sick about you, ” Cassandra claimed, faking affection and care for me, while squeezing me tightly to herself.
The way she embraced me took my memories back to the old days when I thought she was indeed my sister, despite the differences.
It’s this same method of warmheartedness she’d always use years back, deceiving and fooling me into thinking she actually loved me.
But I now know the truth behind those fake smiles, hugs, laughter… Everything infuriates me deeply!
I felt like pushing Cassandra off my body until she falls hard to the ground with a loud thud, but I held back my rage, subduing myself from that temptation.
My devilish stepsister kept asking me stupid questions, acting so innocent before me.
“Damian and I have been searching around. We thought something bad happened. Even Mom has been feeling down ever since you left. The family no longer feels the same without you,” She said with a sniff, cupping my face.
Oh, if she knows the amount of anger I want to baptize on her body right now, she’ll take her dirty paws off my face and step away from me!
“Sis, speak to me. Where have you been? Where did you go after…”
“Can you not?” I interrupted, dusting her hands off me with disgust.
Casey was surprised at my action. She took a look at a frozen Damian then back at me, asking innocently, ” Anna… What happened? Aren’t you happy to see your sister again? Didn’t you miss me?” She placed her hand on her chest, almost drawing closer to me.
Still irritated, I drew back and uttered, narrowing my brows at her, “Like you even cared if I was alive.”
“Anna, don’t say that! You’re making it sound like I never looked for you. Damian is here. You can ask him!” She turned over to face my ex, pulling him closer to herself.
“He’s here. You can ask him too. We went out searching for after that night. But we couldn’t find you.”
“Yeah, it’s… It’s true,” Damian backed, hovering his eyes on me.
Hearing them, I just hummed.
Did they actually think I’m stupid and I don’t know what they did?
“Why is she pretending when she was with Damian and my stepmother? They clearly sent those guards to take me out when I found out their secret! Or did she?” I reasoned, directing a suspicious gaze at her husband.
He came locking his eyes with mine, slowly putting on a devilish smile on that face of his.
Now why do I have a feeling that Casey and my step mom didn’t know about the guards? Could it be that Damian…. Whatever, I don’t care.
It still doesn’t change the fact that they all joined hands in making me the creep I am today.
I hate them so much!
“Oh heavens! You don’t know how happy I am just seeing you again. Who knew we were going to cross paths with my sister again,” She spoke with excitement, clinging to Damian’s arm like a leech.
“Yes, who knew,” Damian uttered, still beaming.
“It’s great to see you again, Anna. You are looking… Really beautiful after all these while, ” He complimented my looks, lingering his eyes all over me.
“It feels like you never went missing in the first place. You must be taking good care of yourself all alone.”
“What did you expect, Alpha Damian?” I asked, lifting my brow at the fool.
“You thought when you see Anna again she’d be looking dried or maybe dead?” I smirked, tightening my fist secretly.
Cassandra giggled at my words while Damian just gawked. Those eyes still darting at me, like they want to dig into my soul or something!
Outrageous! Why are they here?!
Is the host a friend or business partner to Damian? Surely that must be the reason why they are standing before me at a party I never dreamt of crossing paths with them.
It’s so annoying!
“You need to come back home with us, Sis. Mom will be so happy when she hears that we found you!” My step sister suggested, about grabbing my hand.
When I saw this, I immediately pulled away, avoiding Casey’s hold. She was surprised by my action, looking at me with those fake exculpated gaze again!
ARGH! I want to pluck them out!!
“Sorry, but maybe some other time. As you can see…” I pointed at myself with pride, even though I wasn’t doing a thing. “I am quite busy at the moment,” I said, pulling a light smile to the side.
“Busy?” Damian uttered, scoffing out next. “You don’t look busy to me. The only thing you’re doing here is just standing,” He said, slowly sounding annoying.
“No need to hide it, Anna. You don’t have anything doing nor do you have a place of your own.”
Is he for real now?
“It’s okay to share your problems with us. After all, we’re family. We look after each other, ” He uttered, sliding both hands into his pocket.
I don’t believe this bastard! So, he thinks I roam the streets and I have nothing doing?
Damn bloody…
“And from what I’m seeing, I have a feeling that you snuck into this place uninvited, ” He said, making that loud.
A few guests who walked pass our point, had their heads turning to see what was wrong.
Casey faked a gasp and said to Damian, “My love, what are you saying? There’s no way Anna snuck in here like a thief. She’s also the daughter of Raymond De Great. I’m sure the host recognized…” She paused, pretending to be astonished.
She looked at me and said, ” The host only met father and Damian after you were kicked out. Did you really sneak into the party?”
She gasped one more time, covering her mouth. “Anna, since when did you start this act? You were never like this!”
Oh the drama! When will it end?
“It’s okay to feel ashamed. We won’t tell,” Damian said, posing like some saint. “You have us now. We will take you back to…”
Before he could complete his statement… “Here you are, my love,” Diego showed up and planted a kiss on my lips, right in front of Casey and Damian!
I was surprised by his sudden action. It made my body shiver.
“I was looking for you. I told you to stay close to me, but you just walked away.” Diego wrapped his arms around my waist, giving this Charming and romantic vibe.
What is going on with him?
He turned over and noticed Cassandra and Damian next to me. Then he asked, pointing at them, ” You made new friends?”
Now I know he’s acting.
Diego has seen both my stepsister and Damain’s face before. He even showed me a picture to prove he wasn’t joking.
But his acting sure is killing two people at the moment.
Cassandra and Damian were filled with shock when they saw the Alpha of Crescent before them. Not as the dangerous Alpha they knew him as, but as my partner.
To silence that nonsense story they were just cooking up, I said to Diego, burying myself on his chest, “It’s just my stepsister and her husband.”
