He fucking gave up on their relationship

ALESSIA’S POV
I had no idea, not even the slightest idea why Cassius was acting distant again.
He made a promise to tell me something about himself once I made him feel pleased, and I did.
I was desperate to know him more, but guess what?
He left without saying a word.
I couldn’t even say a word or as I stared in disbelief.
Honestly, he is the hardest person to read.
I couldn’t fathom what was going on in his head, no matter how hard I tried.
It’s been two days since I set my eyes on him.
Funny enough, other than his contact, I know absolutely nothing about him.
Where does he live? No idea
Any of his family members? No idea
All I knew was that he is Satan’s heir, the Mafia lord of Black Stone Clan.
” Fuck!” I exclaimed once an idea popped into my head.
I could definitely locate him myself, if I go to his clan.
I know I sounded desperate like a bitch, but I have no option. I needed to make a stand on where I belong in this relationship.
I don’t even know if we are dating or having a fling or rather friends with benefits
” Alessia!” CeCe tapped my shoulder, jotting me out of my trance.
” Hey,” I flashed her a smile. ” Is there any problem?”
” I should be the one asking you that.” CeCe let out a sigh, folding her hands under her breast. ” You’ve been lost in reverie for a while now. Is there any problem?”
” Not really.” I flashed her a smile. A smile which didn’t reach my eyes.
” Is this about Cassius?” CeCe suddenly asked after a few seconds of silence.
I was shocked as I stared at her.
” What? You think I won’t know that you’re in love with him?”
” I’m not in love with him.” I denied. ” Our relationship is a complicated one, and I need to know my stand.”
” Not all relationships are bed of roses. Some are dark, some are sweet, and so many more. Yours is just a dark romance. You’re in love with a dark man.”
” CeCe, do you even know who Cassius is?” I asked and she frowned.
” Nope, that Dragon guy didn’t tell me.” As she spoke, I could see some pink blush spread across her cheeks.
” Wait, don’t tell me you like the Dragon guy?” I raised a brow, my jaw dropped.
” No, I don’t.” CeCe avoided my gaze, as she lied.
She happened not to be a good liar, so it was easier to catch her.
” Don’t lie to me, girlie. You like that dude.” I said, a small smile spread across my lips.
” Whatever!” CeCe waved me off. ” So what do you want to say?”
I looked at her for a few seconds before clearing my throat. ” Cassius is Satan’s heir, the one you and some of our college friends always talk about in our college days.”
At first she didn’t believe me, because she remained silent, staring at me like some sort of movie, before she cracked up into laughter.
” Are you okay, Alessia? Don’t you think you need to see a doctor?” She asked, teasing me, but I was in no mood to play along.
How I wish someone would believe me.
” I’m dead serious!” I snapped and she immediately clapped her lips together.
” Are you for real?” CeCe asked, a hint of disbelief in her voice.
” I’m fucking serious.” I said, rubbing my fingers against my temples. ” He is the Mafia Boss of Black Stone Clan. The day he left me in the middle of nowhere and I asked you to pick me up, that was the day I found out.”
” Fuck! I’m so excited!” CeCe exclaimed and my brows knitted together into a frown.
Was she serious?
” I’ve always wished to date a Mafia boss. I love dark romance!” She exclaimed and I almost groaned in frustration.
” Well, I’m not a dark romance girlie, so what do I do to exit this relationship?” I asked.
” Sorry darling,” CeCe clicked her tongue, as she trailed her manicured finger against my chin. ” From what I know about dark romance, bro, would follow you until the end of the earth. If you decide to leave Italy, he will stalk you, and when you get married to someone else, he might end up killing your husband to have you back.”
Fear crept up to my throat and I felt the hair at the back of my neck stood up.
I didn’t sign up for such a relationship.
” Why did you make it sound so fucking scary?” I asked, biting my lips.
” Because that’s the truth. Dark men are mostly psychopaths and don’t feel human emotions, but once you catch their interest, you can’t run or hide away from them, forever.”
” Enough, I’ve heard you.” I dismissed her, so she won’t continue with her scary stories about dark men.
After what CeCe said about dark men, I couldn’t stop thinking about it.
That was more reason why I needed to see Cassius and either put an end to our relationship or he tells me everything about him.
If he still doesn’t want to speak, then, I will have to end our find a better life for myself.
After work, CeCe offered to drive me home, but I declined, because I had somewhere to go, and that place happened to be; Black Stone Clan.
It was hard to locate, as it was in the woods.
Upon arriving at the big metal gate, I came across two hefty guards with guns in their hands.
It was the second time seeing a gun in someone’s hand before, after my parents death when I was a child.
” Hello,” I started. ” I’m here to see Cassius Riven.”
They both exchange looks before turning to face me.
” You call the Boss by his name?” One of the guards asked, and I frowned in confusion.
” Isn’t that his name?” I asked.
” I’m sorry Miss, but you can’t meet with him.” The other said.
” How about you deliver my message to him, then, we can see if he would let me in or not.”
” Okay.” The first guard said and took the letter from me before leaving for the mansion.
Five minutes
Ten minutes….
The guard didn’t return and I was getting anxious.
What if he doesn’t let me in?
My heart raced at the thought.
Soon, the metal gate cracked open and the guard returned.
” The Boss said you can come in, so follow me.” He said and I smiled as I followed behind him.
In my entire life, I’ve never seen a clan as big as Black Stone Clan.
Many mobsters were training using swords, while others used guns, and others without any weapons.
Soon, we got to Cassius’s office. The guard returned while I stood at the door for a few seconds before knocking.
” Come in.” His deep voice was enough to stir up something inside of me, but I took in a deep breath to suppress whatever I was feeling.
I held the door knob and pushed it open.
” Why are you here?” He deadpanned, and I became short of words.
The fact that he could say such words without even offering me a seat, meant that he didn’t want to see me at all.
” I’m here to know my stand in whatever relationship we share.” I started and took my seat.
” I never offered you a seat.” Cassius said in his usual low and menacing voice, but I didn’t care.
” I offered myself, since you didn’t offer me.” I shrugged.
He was busy typing away on his laptop, but I didn’t give a fuck.
” All I need is your answer.” I said and straightened my back. ” Cassius, what kind of relationship do we share?”
My eyes were filled with hope, thinking he would be human for a few minutes.
” I have no idea.” He replied and all my hope shattered, but I was able to stop the tears that threatened to flow out of my eyes.
I needed to be strong to face him.
” So, back to the reason why I’m here.” I said and cleared my throat. ” You have to make a choice; tell me everything about you or end whatever relationship we share.”
There was silence for at least a minute before he spoke up.
” Why are you obsessed about knowing everything about me?” He asked and I was taken aback by his question.
” What?” I asked, my eyes widened in disbelief.
” Yes, because I see no reason why I should tell you everything about me just because I’m fucking you.”
The latter words hurt as fuck, but I tried my best not to show how hurt I was.
I deep my fingers into my hair before exhaling.
” I think that answers the question.” I said, stood up and grabbed my bag. ” I hope we never meet again, Cassius.”
I flashed him a smile, the one that doesn’t reach my eyes before walking out of his office.
I had little to no hope of him coming after me like in books and movies, but he never came after me.
Cassius fucking gave up on whatever relationship we had, while I clutched on it, hoping we could form something meaningful out of it.
