Sky’s POV
I was surprised by the warrior’s panicked voice that came through the mind-link, telling me to come out of the pack house as it was urgent.
I thought about how the pack could be under attack, but that seemed rather unlikely because I could detect any intrusion at my own pack’s border.
“Please, Alpha, hurry,” the warrior mind-linked me.
I lazily got up and went outside of the pack house, brushing my hand through my hair.
I could hear yells and loud screams coming from the training field.
“Obviously, it’s our warriors fighting again,” I whispered to my wolf.
“It has been a long time since such a thing happened,” he said.
Well, he was right, but if it wasn’t a fight, then what was happening? Something was definitely wrong because this was the first time I was hearing such an uproar the closer I got.
I quickly picked up my pace and rushed there. When I reached the training field, I was shocked to see Glen hitting Beta Marshall with his back towards me.
Marshall was trying to block his hits, but for some reason, he couldn’t.
I quickly rushed to where they were, getting in between them.
“Brother, stop it!” I yelled loudly while pressing my hand gently against his shoulder.
When he grabbed my hand roughly and shoved me aside, I stumbled, nearly falling, but luckily balanced myself.
This was the first time I felt such an aura coming from him, and it was murderous. I turned to look at him as he continued to hit the Beta furiously.
When I took a few steps closer, I noticed how his wolf, Dominic, was the one in control.
“He won’t listen to me,” I whispered to my wolf, then pulled back, giving him total control.
This time, when he went between them, he growled at Glen’s wolf, who halted his fist in the air as Beta Marshall fell to the ground.
“That’s enough,” he warned, then gave me back control.
“Please stop this. Beta Marshall is our respectable former Beta. If Riff finds out what is happening, he will be sad, and he is my childhood friend whom I cherish a lot,” I growled loudly.
“You, step aside,” came Glen’s wolf command.
“No, I won’t. This Beta you are hitting with the aim to murder is part of my family and someone I have looked up to since I was little,” I answered seriously as he took a step back and chuckled.
“You are pissing me off and making a very terrible mistake right now by stopping me. Fine, how about you ask him why I want to fucking kill him?” he asked with a smirk as his fangs showed.
He was nothing like Glen! The Alpha in front of me wasn’t on the same level as my wolf in strength. I could feel it, but he was strong, and if I had to restrain him, it wouldn’t be so easy.
I looked at Beta Marshall, who was still on the ground with a torn, bloody shirt covering his face and his bruised, trembling hands.
“Did you do something to upset him, Beta?” I asked in a low tone.
“No, Alpha! This son of a bitch is insane! He came at me without a word and began attacking me. I seriously haven’t done anything that could upset him or make him act like this!” Beta Marshall yelled at the top of his voice as he dropped his hands. One of his eyes was red, and a trail of blood was rolling from his nose.
“You fucking piece of trash!” Dominic yelled as he moved to strike him with his claws.
“No,” I growled as I quickly moved and held his wrist in mid-air.
“Brother, please stop!” My wolf growled loudly as he partially pulled through.
“Tell him what you did, you filth!” he growled at the Beta furiously as I struggled to hold his hand in place.
“I don’t know what you are talking about, Alpha,” Beta Marshall growled back.
“Oh really? I will really enjoy making you bleed more than this,” he whispered as I quickly grabbed his shoulders.
“Brother,” I whispered coldly.
I didn’t want to fight him no matter what. I didn’t care if it was Glen or his wolf in control. To me, they were my brothers, whom I respected and cherished.
“Tell that bastard to confess what he did to our father!” he growled loudly at me.
“What are you even talking about?” Beta Marshall asked furiously.
“You bastard! If you don’t come clean now, I will kill you. I swear upon the Moon Goddess,” Dominic warned seriously.
This was the first time I had heard someone swear upon the Moon Goddess. Whatever the case was, it was very serious.
“You stupid brat! I don’t even know what you are talking about,” Beta Marshall yelled.
Dominic was about to move when I shook my head.
“Allow me,” I whispered, then walked to where Beta Marshall was.
“Beta, let your wolf take over,” I said as he widened his eyes.
“Alpha, I don’t know what you want to do, but…,”
“Now!” I growled, letting my wolf take partial control.
He hesitated but did as we had asked.
The first thing his wolf did was get to his feet casually with a grin.
“Nephew,” he greeted softly.
His wolf was usually a charmer, but if he was as good as his human side, then he would have been right there in everything, showing himself more often as we grew up. But no, he rarely showed himself, and that, to me, was weird because even my own wolf showed himself more.
“Do it,” I told my wolf as I pulled back, letting him completely take over.
“Beta, as your Alpha and leader, I command you to truthfully tell me what you did to our father. Out with your secret,” he commanded as he released his pheromones.
The beta widened his eyes as he shook his head.
He wanted to turn when he fell to the ground with a loud, painful growl, his face lowered to the ground.
Fighting a command of an Alpha when you were below the rank was impossible. Submission happened, and it became lethal when resisted.
He slowly raised his shaking head and looked me in the eyes as he coughed out blood.
Whatever he was keeping as a secret was truly that deep for him to want to sacrifice his own life.
Dominic moved to my side and looked at me calmly for a second before looking at the Beta.
“As your Alphas, we command you to submit,” he said coldly as he released his pheromones too.
Tears streamed down Beta Marshall’s cheeks, and sweat was forming on his forehead.
“We… asked a witch… to make Clyde hate his own mate for a price,” he said in a low voice as murmurs became louder.
“We… hate him for getting Berta, who was the only one we loved! Actually, we want him dead,” he forced out the words as the noise died, and I found myself feeling like I was in a trance.
Then I heard it!
“If we can’t have Berta, then no one will, even if it means killing Clyde! We will stop at nothing!” he screamed, and just like that, I found myself moving in a swift moment, slitting his throat deeply.
