In an instant, Callie’s scalp tingled. This man was doing it on purpose.
“Shouldn’t it be at Ylosea University…”
“I bought it from the school,” Jamir said as he took her hand and played with her fingers, looking bored. “It’s old, and the quality isn’t as good as the pianos nowadays, but it’s still a shared memory for us. Isn’t it?”
His voice was lazy, but Callie felt a chill.
During the two years they were together, they were the talk of the school. On the day of the school celebration, Jamir brought her on stage for a four-hand piano performance, which became a legend for a long time.
Everyone said Jamir was deeply in love with Callie.
These memories would have faded if he hadn’t mentioned them.
She closed her eyes and lowered her voice, “What do you want?”
“How about a performance for your ex-husband?” Jamir smiled, but his eyes were ice-cold.
Callie looked up and saw Nelson not far away. Charlotte was saying something to him, but he seemed disinterested and it was unclear if he was even listening.
If he knew that she learned the four-hand piano piece from Jamir, he would definitely kill her!
“I can’t play,” she said coldly.
“Can’t play?” Jamir leaned closer and whispered in her ear, “Don’t you want to annoy her a bit? Callie, I’m willing to let you use me.”
He was referring to Charlotte.
Callie frowned and was about to retort when she suddenly thought of something. She smiled and grabbed his fingers back. “It’s been too long; I might not play well.”
They walked onto the stage together.
Jamir enjoyed this and said lazily, “I saw you played pretty well with him.”
Callie secretly kicked him.
The onlookers were shocked. They never expected Callie to have a connection with the eldest son of the Quinn Group, and he seemed to follow her every word.
Their every move attracted attention. Charlotte instinctively exclaimed, “Isn’t that Miss Marsh…”
A cold light flashed in Nelson’s eyes as he stared at the two on stage.
Jamir was the first to raise his hand and press a key, leaving Callie no time to refuse and forcing her to follow along.
This piece was… “Mariage d’Amour!”
When they were in love, they practiced this piece the most. Callie was a bit rusty, but Jamir guided her slowly, so there were hardly any flaws.
As they got into the groove, they played even better together than one person alone!
The melodious piano music filled the venue, and everyone unconsciously put down what they were doing to listen intently.
Even Callie was surprised that after all these years, she and Jamir still had such chemistry!
Jamir’s voice was very low. “Actually, you shouldn’t be surprised. I taught you; no one knows you better than I do, not even Nelson.”
When the piece ended, Jamir held her hand and looked at the audience, saying loudly, “My girlfriend is shy; please excuse us.”
The crowd received this huge piece of information and only then started clapping.
Jamir had been back in the country for so long without any rumors of a woman, but now he publicly announced that Callie was his girlfriend!
Callie tried to pull her hand away. “You’re crazy!” Then she quickly grabbed the microphone and added, “He misspoke; I’m his ex-girlfriend.”
There was an uproar in the audience.
That information was just as shocking!
Jamir didn’t mind. “Then can I have another chance to pursue you?”
This time it wasn’t a private conversation between them but a question asked in front of so many people.
Callie’s heart raced, not out of excitement but because of a gaze from the audience that made her feel suffocated from afar, as if she would be punished in the next second.
