“Okay.”
Rosalind nodded, agreeing.
She had her own thoughts. Once Malcolm saw Ulric, he would give up pursuing her, right?
Malcolm wasted so many years on her, and if they continued to maintain this relationship, it would only deepen Malcolm’s obsession.
After helping Ulric finish his bath, Rosalind took the time to dry his hair.
Ulric already had wounds that were difficult to heal, and if he caught a cold and developed an infection, who knew when he would recover?
She quickly took a shower herself and then walked out in her bathrobe.
Ulric was sitting in front of the computer, slightly bowing his head as he discussed work with Cedric.
Rosalind found a spot where she could see him from the side and quietly directed her gaze at him.
This was one of her little quirks! Watching Ulric work was truly a pleasure…
He would occasionally pause, a slight frown creasing his brow, his jawline sharp and defined.
At times, he would nod slightly in agreement, but his expression always remained haughty and aloof, his thin lips pressed tightly together, not a hint of a smile.
Ulric had always been a king high above, as if gaining his approval was something one should bow down and thank him for.
After watching for a while, Rosalind took out her phone and secretly snapped a photo.
When she looked at the picture, she realized Ulric’s gaze was fixed on her, his dark eyes deep and filled with too many emotions.
“Why aren’t you lying down on the bed?”
Ulric closed his laptop and looked at her openly.
Rosalind put her phone away and smiled. “You’re in a video conference. If I’m in bed, everyone will see.”
“What’s there to be afraid of?”
She sighed in exasperation, “Come on! You’re the CEO! If your subordinates see you in a meeting with someone in bed, it’ll look so unprofessional! It would ruin your cool, aloof image in front of them.”
Ulric reached out and pulled her onto his lap.
“We just finalized the name for the new project.”
“Oh? What is it?” She instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck.
“An Unwavering Love.”
Rosalind thought for a moment. “Is it the resort project in Jingtown that I saw last time?”
Ulric nodded. “Yeah.”
“An Unwavering Love. It’s a good name, isn’t it?”
He wanted a love so strong that not even death could separate him from Rosalind.
Rosalind seemed to understand the meaning behind his words. She smiled and then asked, “Do you regret studying in Jingtown?”
If it hadn’t been for the Walters family’s business in Jingtown, he wouldn’t have lowered himself to attend middle school there, nor would he have met someone as ordinary as her.
He smirked. “I only regret not reading that letter to you back then.” Instead of secretly leaving it on her desk, where she never even opened it before giving it back.
Rosalind paused for a moment, then thought about it and smiled. “If you had done that, I definitely would have asked the teacher to change my seat.”
During her school days, she never thought about early romance.
In fact, there were boys who pursued her back then, and quite a few at that. But Rosalind never had the slightest intention of dating. At that time, she only wanted to earn money to cover her mother’s medical expenses or to buy more books.
“It doesn’t matter. Even if you asked the teacher to change your seat, he wouldn’t agree.”
“Why not?”
“Because I wouldn’t agree.” As long as he disagreed, the homeroom teacher wouldn’t dare to change seats.
