Andrew’s Pov
How could Skylar still be alive? Most importantly, with the look on her face, she looked like she already had plans for everything she wanted to do. Why was she after Zoey? I mean I knew Zoey was her daughter but if she wanted to take it, she would have done that by now instead of taunting them by appearing and disappearing in her life.
I later called Lilah to hear the full story about Skylar having been visiting Zoey and thankfully she told me everything and how Skylar told Zoey, Shenaya wasn’t her mother.
What the hell was she thinking?
I lodged the rooftop hotel closest to the Roux estate so I could keep an eye on Zoey and Shenaya from there. I sat on the balcony, I could capture the whole city of Pari from the spot. My eyes landed on the Roux residence and it reminded me of the Caesar residence. “The Caesar Legacy” as my mother would proudly call it. It still isn’t mine yet, I promised my mom I would take the rightful place and it’s been years now. I only came close to victory once. Coming close to Victory doesn’t mean Victory. The scent of the city flowed through the wind as it carried my hair. I leaned back as memories violently crashed against my mind.
Flashbacks;
I remember that night after witnessing Shenaya dance in the rain, I wanted to approach her but I saw some other boy looking at her from afar as well. Shenaya used to be my best friend, and I couldn’t wait to meet her. After our pack was attacked in Italy and everyone found their way, my mom who was a powerful witch and also an Omega wolf decided to bring me back to my father’s territory. My mom was the personal Omega to Alpha Samuel Caesar during their time and one thing led to another they started having secret affairs, after a while my mom got pregnant with me and told her Alpha she was pregnant but Alpha Samuel Caesar had already found his mate at that time and she was an Alpha female as well. They marked each other and she became pregnant with Aiden.
Alpha Samuel threatened to kill my mother if she did not abort me so instead she ran away to Italy where I grew up.
She had always told me I was meant to rule the pack and she trained me in the Royals way even though she passed through a lot of struggles.
As we had struggled with rouge wolves in our journey, she fell ill and promised to take me to my father’s territory. When we got to Cresent Park, I decided to play off that was when I saw Shenaya but since another boy was there, I went back to find my mother. When I entered the pack house where she told me she would be, I found my mother standing in the middle of the hall with tears streaking from her face.
“Andy…” she whispered, her voice trembling as she reached for me.
A man stood across from her with a cold distant face.
“Samuel please don’t do this,” my mother pleaded as she went on her knees.
This man standing here was my father? His face wasn’t welcoming. He didn’t stand there as a father, he stood there as the leader of his pack, like a true Alpha. If the situation was different, he would have been my mentor. He would have been the man I would love to be like.
I stepped closer to my mother in pure confusion.
“Mother, what’s going on?”
The man locked his cold eyes on mine and I trembled in fear. “You don’t belong here, you are not fit to lead my pack.”
I blinked severally to be sure I heard him right.
“What? What are you talking about?”
“You are the son of an Omega witch, you are weak,” he said as his voice echoed through the room.
“We are not here because I want to take over your territory,” I said letting him know I was not going to be a threat, ” We are here because we need shelter, we’ve been homeless for more than six months now and my mom is sick, please give her treatment, we would leave as soon as she’s well again?” I tried to reason with him.
“I have made my decision and that is the final, leave now before you unleash the beast in me?” he said clearly determined.
“Why?” I asked him without fear, “Why do you hate us so much?”
“I have to always choose my pack first, You are the son of a weak Omega witch, you are going to be a weak Alpha,” he said and for the first time, his voice softened. “You are not supposed to be born, your mother knew this and she decided to bring you into this world regardless, everything you are going through right now is the consequence of the decision she made to bring you into the world.”
That was all he needed to say to make me shut my mouth, I was a mistake, I jerked back from him and fell on the floor.
“You have to leave this pack immediately before I send the guards to throw you both in the dungeon,” he said and walked away from us.
I crawled to where my mother was sitting on the floor as she started to cough blood. The pain in my chest was unbearable, the weight of his statements and the pain of seeing my mother in this situation made me wanna run mad.
I tried to steady her as I lifted her from the ground. I pulled her through the doorway of the pack house she swept, her body trembled with grief as she kept apologizing to me.
We left the pack entirely and walked towards an unknown place around the territory since we had nowhere to go.
I laid my mom at the bank of the flowing river to give her some water when I met my godmother, Elara. She took us in and fed us, but by the time she could treat my mom, it was too late. I lost her.
From that moment, I had vowed to come back to show Alpha Samuel that I was not weak. I wasn’t always a wizard but I had to learn and since my mother was a witch, I had the power in me already.
I always knew I wasn’t going to be as strong as Aiden when it came to strength because he was a pure Alpha blood while I, on the other side was a mixed Alpha. I practiced day and night just because I knew one day I would have to take over Aiden’s territory.
Aiden had always found it easy, becoming an Alpha, being Skylar’s mate, or getting Shenaya’s heart and I must say, I am jealous of him and with time I am going to take back everything he thinks he owns right now. Especially shenaya.
I took a deep breath as the painful memories flowed through my mind.
“Playtime is over,” I muttered to myself, “It’s time to take over”
A familiar presence entered the room behind me and I didn’t need to look back before I knew who it was.
“What’s the update, Alenjro?” I asked him.
Alenjro, my right-hand man and the only man I completely trusted came into view. His face was extremely serious.
“She had been picked up?” he said and a small smile played on my lips.
It was part of our plan that Alenjro would marry Lucy, Aiden’s sister and he is to traumatize her, just like the way her father made me feel little when I came to his pack.
Alenjro already had a mate in my pack and even though Lucy was his fated mate, he would have rejected her but we won’t be able to break her piece by piece. She was lucky enough Shenaya found her and helped her out.
She went back to the house she shared with Alenjro when she found out some secrets about Alenjro working with me. Of course, she wasn’t going to keep quiet so I told them to kidnap her.
“Where is she?” I asked with a voice cold.
“She’s in the warehouse?” Alenjro replied
“What about Aiden?” I asked, changing the subject. “Has he been alerted?”
“Not yet” Alenjro shook his head.
“We’ll move soon,” I said with a steady voice.
“Gather the warriors. Prepare everything needed. We’re taking the pack house, and we’re taking Shenaya.”
Alenjro nodded. This wasn’t just about reclaiming my birthright, it was about revenge. It was about showing everyone-especially Samuel-that I wasn’t the weak, born by Mitake he once called me.
This time, I would be unstoppable.
