“Thank you all for coming to support us. Let’s liven up the atmosphere of our wedding banquet,” Tom said, his demeanor relaxed and a gentle smile on his face.
Everyone was happy, their faces beaming with blessings. They were grateful to him for giving them the opportunity to board such a luxurious cruise and enjoy this wonderful evening.
“Next, I’d like to take this opportunity to sing a song for my little friend Bubu,” Tom said, looking at a girl in a white evening dress not far away. “This is something I promised her long ago. It took me a long time to learn the lyrics, but today I’m going to fulfill that promise.”
The crowd was stunned, then erupted in screams and applause!
“Sing! Sing!!”
“We get to hear Tom sing tonight! What a treat!”
“I’ve never heard Tom sing before. He always says he’s tone-deaf, but his voice is really good! Sing! Sing! Hurry up!”
Brothers and sisters egged him on, all excitedly anticipating.
Agnes was deeply moved. She had casually mentioned wanting him to sing for her when they were abroad, never expecting him to remember.
Tonight’s surprises seemed endless. The girl in the white dress smiled gently, “Alright! I’m all ears!” Her fair skin, pure features, and delicate makeup made her look angelic under the lights.
Tom’s expression was gentle as he made a small gesture. Agnes stepped forward and placed her hand in his.
The familiar accompaniment began to play-a song Agnes loved and had been played at the wedding earlier.
Tom brought the microphone close to his lips, gazing at her with deep affection-
“For you, my plain waiting and guarding; for you, my passionate desire and tenderness; for you, my endless joy and sorrow; for you, my insignificant everything…”
After a short verse, the room erupted in applause and cheers!
His singing was good enough for a debut!!
So sweet!!
“For you, my long-lasting commitment; for me, your hand held tightly even years later; for your maturity and your compromises-will we grow old together?”
He sang as if asking her.
Agnes swayed gently to his song, gazing into his eyes with a smile.
Tom held the microphone in one hand and her hand in the other, his eyes only on her.
Everyone present was moved by this deeply romantic atmosphere, clapping along with the beat and captivated by his song.
“For me, your unpolished innocence and freedom; for you, my insignificant everything…”
As he sang the last line, Agnes couldn’t hold back her tears despite trying. Tom stepped forward and embraced the beautiful girl tightly. “For you, my insignificant everything…”
When the song ended, they hugged tightly on the deck of the luxurious cruise ship as cheers and waves of applause filled the air.
“Kiss! Kiss!”
“Kiss! Kiss!!”
Soon, people started chanting again.
Tom released her from his embrace and placed a tender kiss on her forehead. Agnes closed her eyes in happiness.
“Agnes, shouldn’t you return a song too?”
“Yes! You must sing one back!!”
“We want to hear the bride sing too!” Someone cupped their hands around their mouth and shouted excitedly.
Agnes blushed despite her smile. She wasn’t used to being so outgoing, especially since most of these people were Tom’s relatives whom she was meeting for the first time.
But Agnes was very touched and felt it was only right to reciprocate. She took the microphone from Tom and said sweetly to everyone, “I want to recite a poem for Tom. It’s not original, but it contains all my feelings for him. I think its sentiment is very fitting.”
The crowd applauded enthusiastically! They didn’t make things difficult for her but were instead very eager.
