“I am a bit nervous but other than that I’m excited.”
“How is Santiago. I know you won’t see him until the wedding.”
“He’s okay and I’m missing him already, tonight he’s having a bachelor party and I’m feeling so jealous.”
Reina smiled at her.”Why?”
“What if there’ll be girls.”
“Don’t stress and worry yourself for nothing. I don’t think your brother will let anything like that happen.”
She tried to convince Bella but now she’s the one who’s getting worried. What if there will be women there and Nico decides to spend the night with one of them, no she told herself he won’t do that.
“Brother won’t go.”Bella told her.”He’s staying home with you.”
Reina grabbed her hand.”Santiago loves you and I don’t think he’ll do anything to hurt you so stop stressing. I’m sure you don’t want to wake up with dark circles under your eyes tomorrow.”
“And he knows if he hurts you I’m going to kill him. I’ve already had a man to man talk with him.”Nico said strolling in with her juice.
“Knowing you you probably threatened him.”Bella said.
“Either way you’re my baby sister and I love you, no one will hurt you for as long as I’m alive.”He handed Reina her juice.
Reina wished he could say those three little words to her, her heart is longing to hear him say it. His love for Bella is evident and clear he doesn’t hide it and when ever he looks at her it was with love, Reina is feeling a bit jealous.
“You’ll still help me tomorrow with my dress… that is if you’re allowed to.”She said looking at Nico.
“No one will stop me. Is all the arrangements still in place.”
“Yes, but mom is calling everyone and making a thousand percent sure about everything she doesn’t want anything to go wrong.”
“Everything will be perfect I’m sure of it.”
“I know. I haven’t seen your dress for the wedding please tell me that you designed something.”
“I did.”Reina told her.
“When? I didn’t see you and when can I see it.”
“I did it when I was in Paris. Your brother was busy with work and I was bored so I just filled my time with sewing.”
“One day when you two have a daughter she’ll be lucky to have you as a mother. The clothes you’ll be designing for her already I’m jealous and she’s not even here yet.”Reina briefly glanced at Nico and found him staring at her, she wonders what is going through his head now.”You’re planning on having more kids after this one. Aren’t you? At least two or three more… mom has always wanted us to have a big family but after having me she was told she can’t have any more kids.”
“Bella…”Nico warned.
“What? Reina is family it’s not like she’ll go and announce it to the whole world.”She stood up.”Unlike you I don’t like to sweep the past under the carpet and pretend it doesn’t exist. In order for us to move on we need to let go so that we can heal and lead happy lives.”With that she left.
“I’ll be right back.”He told Reina and followed after Bella.
She wonders what is so bad that Nico even forbids his sister to talk about it. Maria came then along with Cathy.”Cathy.”She stood up.”Thank you Maria.”
They kissed and hugged.”You don’t look so okay. What’s wrong.”
“Sit down Cath. And stop analyzing me.”
“Can I get senorita anything?”Maria asked.
“We’ll have breakfast Maria before senor gets angry.”
“Si.”Maria said and left.
“What was that all about.”Cathy asked as soon as they were alone.
Reina filled her in on the whole story.”My best friend is in hospital and I only get to hear about this now. What happened to us Reina.”
“I guess we grown now and living our lives.”
“Maybe you right, how are you now.”
“Better.”
“Promise me that you’ll take it easy and rest for the baby”
“Now you sound like Nicolas.”
“He’s right Reina…. all this stress and whatever else is going on that I can see you don’t wanna tell me isn’t good for the baby. Follow the doctors orders and stay put there’s a whole staff here that will cater to your every need… just rest.”
“I will I promise, there’s something I wanna discuss with you but let’s eat first.”Maria brought their food.
“I see the last preparations are being made for the wedding. Where is the bride?”Cathy asked.
“She should get pampered by now….. I want us to throw her a bachelorette party I don’t know much of her friends but I’ll ask Santiago.”
“What happened to you resting.”
“I will that’s why you’ll be arranging it. You gonna help me.”
“You do know this is short notice and I don’t even know if she’ll like what I’ll plan no bachelorette party is complete without a male stripper… you know that. Where will we have it. Definitely not here.”
“I haven’t thought about that. Maybe we can rent a hotel room for the night.”
“And who will be paying for all the expenses.”Cathy asked. “You do know we are going to have to spend money, Bella doesn’t look like the type of woman who will settle for cheap wine and some dried up crackers.”
The expenses had been the last thing on her mind she just wanted to do something nice for Bella, how will they pay for everything without her knowing. She’s only getting paid after the wedding and lord forbid she didn’t want to ask Nico for money. But he’s the only one who can give her money, she’ll have to swallow her pride and just go and ask.”I’ll make a plan.”She told Cathy.”
“So I guess I’m spending my whole day here. In your massive palace.”
“Yes.”
“I’m going to take full advantage then. We should be kicking back our shoes and sip on the finest wine while we getting medicures and pedicures.”
Reina laughed at Cathy’s hilarious comments.”Does your parents still own that cabin up in the woods out of town.”
“Yes. Why?”
“Would they mind if I use it for a few days.”
“No are you thinking of leaving.”
She nodded.”I just wanna go away and rest.”
“Are you sure that’s it and you not running away from something or someone.”
“Stop over thinking everything. Time alone is not running away.”
Cathy gave her the I don’t believe you look.”You can go whenever you feel you’re ready.”
“Thanks and keep it between us.”
“Uh-oh..”Cathy said.
“I love your ring.”Reina said instead.
