~YULIA.
I gasped in shock as I saw Pete writhing on the ground holding his broken arm. It had happened so fast that I had barely blinked.
“Are you insane!” I screeched in alarm at what Issa had done. I whipped my head to look at him with anger and disbelief.
But when our eyes met, his eyes were a crimson shadow but the colors kept switching back to Issa’s forest green ones. And that was when I knew that Iran had taken control for that moment.
Leia was not aware of the violence as a smirk was plastered on her face. She was enjoying herself way too much. This could not be happening.
Issa grabbed me by my wrist and pulled me with him. I reluctantly followed him until we got to the parking lot where his car waited.
I jerked my hand off his hold and glared at him. I was worried about Pete because his arm was really in a horrible state.
“What the hell was that about?!” I demanded angrily.
“I warned him!” Issa snapped back at me. “He had it coming. Nobody threatens you or puts their hands on you when I am alive!” He thundered. “Not now, and not ever!”
“So you broke his arm?” I asked in disbelief.
“He is lucky that I did not rip it off his body.” Issa growled.
He turned and opened the passenger door angrily. “Get in the car,” He roughly commanded.
I knew that there was no point in arguing with him so I folded my arms angrily and entered the car. He slammed the door, stomped over to the other side of the car and got behind the wheel.
He started the car, backed out of his parking spot and zoomed out of the academy. He said nothing as he drove.
“What’s going to happen to him?” I asked him.
“He is a werewolf, his bones will heal up in a matter of days and he will be good as new but he will remember the pain till the end of his life,” Issa replied.
His phone rang before I could speak. He connected it to the Bluetooth of his car.
“Frostwood,” He said.
“You attacked a student on school grounds!” Dean Davina yelled from her line.
“Yes,” Issa calmly replied.
“How dare you, Issa?”
“I was protecting my niece,” Issa said with the same calmness.
“By breaking the right arm of a student so badly that his bones are visible?” Davina asked in disbelief.
“I warned him the first time,” Issa replied. “He did not take me seriously, so I needed to make him understand that I would do anything to protect who I care about… anything.”
“The school board is trying to decide if your niece should remain in the academy,” Davina said.
I looked at Issa in alarm. I was going to be expelled? I didn’t even do anything!
“Pete’s father is demanding reparations,” Davina continued.
Issa increased the speed of his car before he spoke
“First of all, Yulia’s education will remain unaffected,” He said. “Second of all, the school board is just a bunch of old pussies who hide behind their desks and pencils, and I have no iota of respect for them, except you, Davina.”
“I appreciate your respect, even though you hardly show it, but what about Pete’s father, he is an important contributor to this academy,” Davina said.
“Whatever amount he contributes, you know I can double it,” Issa said with an annoyed shrug. “I will see Pete’s father myself. Goodbye.” He clicked off his connection and silence filled the car again.
I rubbed my forehead and looked out the window.
“You’re fine, Yulia,” Issa said, keeping his eyes on the road.
“You should not have done that,” I said stubbornly.
“He called you a slut!” He said in a tight angry voice.
I turned to him, confused.
“Did Leia tell you that too?” I asked. “Is she your eyes and ears to keep watch on my movements?”
“No,” He said. “I am connected to the school gossip media, do not ask me how.”
“Wow,” I said, amazed and at a loss for words.
A question was bothering me so I inquired.
“Did you sleep with Leia too? Because she seems to have this obsession of trying to make me look bad to you,” I said.
“No, she just likes saying that to scare people off,” Issa replied. “I have told her to stop but she doesn’t listen. She does not even listen to her own father.”
“Well she is getting on my nerves, Issa and I do not know how much I can keep playing the nice girl,” I told him.
“Then stop playing the nice girl and put her in her place,” Issa said with a shrug.
“You know that the Craven Sisters do not believe that I am your niece, right?” I told him.
“Yes, but they won’t tell anyone, you have nothing to worry about.” He replied.
“You trust them?” I asked in disbelief.
“No,” He replied. “But it’s in their best interest to keep their fucking mouth shut.”
Apparently, there were a lot of things I did not know about Issa’s relationship with the Cravens except for the fact that he worked in their company.
The house rose into view and Issa slowed down and eased the car into the gate.
“You know what’s worse?” I asked him.
“You, going back to school tomorrow and people giving you weird looks because of what happened?” He guessed.
I sighed and opened the door. “You are not making things easy for me, Issa.”
I got down suddenly tired andI began to head for my room as I needed to get some sleep when I felt Issa’s arm wrap around my waist from behind before his lips caressed my neck.
It was so sudden and all I could think of was the fact that this wasn’t supposed to be right. We weren’t supposed to be doing this.
Yet I found myself instantly responding to his touch despite how mad I was at him. So I leaned into his muscled chest and sighed in contentment. Perhaps, it was time to forget the consequences of my actions and just go with the flow…
