50. ALL FOR SCHOOL

Book:FATED TO MY UNCLE Published:2025-2-9

~YULIA
She was the last person I expected to see and I hated that I had to deal with her again.
I was not sure how many more surprises I could take as I sat gloomily in Davina’s office while Issa and his older friend Deucalion sat by my side.
“I do not see why you are here, Deucalion,” Davina began. “You just left this office moments ago.”
“I did not get a chance to marvel at that angry face of yours earlier,” Deucalion wore a wide smile as he watched her.
“Flattery will get you nowhere, Alpha Deucalion. Your daughter has just one strike left before expulsion.” Davina remained firm.
That was when I began to wonder what Leia actually did.
“I am sure she will behave herself, Davina,” Deucalion replied smoothly.
“Now, why is she here?” Davina asked, looking at me with open disdain.
I knew at that moment that we were never going to get along.
“To enrol,” Issa replied. “Why else would she be here?”
“But does she want to enrol here or do you want her to enrol here, Lycan Issa?” Davina shot back.
Why was she so stuck up? Even at the announcement, she had been kind of a bitch to me and that was the first time I had met her.
Issa looked at me with a questioning gaze. It was time for me to speak up.
“I need to get good grades so I can move up in the corporate world,” I replied. “And Canis Academy will help me do just that.”
I knew that I copied Issa’s exact words.
“Hmm,” Davina said but I knew that she could tell that what I said was bullshit. “The syllabus will not be easy, Ms. Yulia and I hope you are not here to waste anyone’s time.”
I almost rolled my eyes at her but I kept myself in check. I had no idea why she was being so hard on me.
“She is more than capable, Davina,” Issa replied.
“You will fill some forms and register your name before you can be enrolled,” Davina said. “Then we are going to give you some tests to take to determine which course is suitable for you.”
“When do we start?” I asked feigning interest but the truth was that I wanted to get out of this office.
“I am busy with board meetings so tomorrow morning will be suitable,” Davina said and pulled out a sheet of paper with a list of books that I was going to get.
The topics were strange but I hid my surprise. There were ten books in total:
1. Lycanthropy and Shapeshifting Studies
Explore the history, biology, and psychology of shapeshifters, focusing on transformation techniques, controlling impulses, and understanding pack dynamics.
2. Dark Arts and Forbidden Magic
Study ancient and forbidden spells, curses, and counter-curses, with an emphasis on ethics, consequences, and the effects of dark magic on the soul and mind.
3. Defense Against Possession and Mental Control
Learn protective techniques against mind control, possession, and manipulation by supernatural beings, with practical exercises in building mental resilience.
4. Mystic Alchemy and Potion Crafting
A hands-on course on alchemical principles, potion brewing, and the creation of supernatural substances for healing, transformation, and enhancement of abilities.
5. The Art of Bonding and Soul Mates
Dive into the mystical aspects of soulmate bonds, fated connections, and the energetic ties between mates, with lessons on protecting, strengthening, and breaking bonds.
6. Beast Taming and Familiar Training
Study how to summon, bind, and train spirit animals or familiars, covering both basic animal handling and supernatural creatures like shadow hounds or spectral birds.
7. Ancient Runes and Sigil Craft
Focus on the interpretation, creation, and power of runes and sigils, including warding symbols, binding spells, and energy amplification through ancient scripts.
8. Necromancy and Communication with the Dead
Explore the art of communicating with spirits, the ethics and dangers of necromancy, and rituals for summoning and banishing the deceased.
9. Temporal and Astral Navigation
An advanced course in travelling across time and space through astral projection, teleportation spells, and mastering the flow of temporal energy to avoid disturbances.
10. Lycan Combat and Self-Defense Techniques
A physical training class focused on self-defense tactics, strength control, and combat techniques specific to lycans and werewolves, including claw, bite, and evasion maneuvers.
All the topics were going to be useful after I graduated. I was impressed. I understood why Issa brought me here. We both knew that my life was in danger and these courses were going to help me fend for myself as well as give me a fighting chance against the unknown and mysterious forces that wanted my blood.
“That will be all for now,” Davina stood up. “See you tomorrow.”
Issa and I stood up except for Deucalion who remained seated.
“That goes for you too, Alpha Deucalion,” Davina said firmly.
“So bossy,” Deucalion muttered. “You know I contribute massively to this academy, you should be more friendly towards me.”
“Get out, Duke,” Davina said and I could see the humor in her eyes but she quickly turned stern again.
I got out of the office and Issa and I left the building.
“I can show you around if you want,” He said as we slowly walked towards the parking lot. “You won’t need to start asking around on your first day at school.”
“Second day, actually if I am to come back tomorrow,” I told him.
“Is that a possibility I hear? Are you suddenly interested in enrolling here?” There was amusement in his eyes as he watched me.
“I did not want to at first.” I raised the sheet of paper Davina gave me. “But I realised that I can learn so much here and it could help me protect myself better.”
Issa beamed. “That’s exactly why I brought you here.”
“What I do not understand is why Davina is being a stuck up bitch.”
Issa shrugged. “She means well, Yulia and she is like that with everyone.”
“Lycan Issa,” A familiar voice called.
I looked at the owner of the voice in shock. What was he even doing here?
“Detective Khan,” Issa growled.
