VALENTINA’S POINT OF VIEW.
When I saw him standing there at the door way in a grey hoodie, I thought I was imagining things, I thought I had finally gone crazy from loneliness, I think I had let psychosis get the better of me because of how much I miss Diego.
But the he moved closer and closer to me, he looked very real, very present, very… there but I did not want to believe it, three months! Three months and he is here now? I had mourned him, I had blamed God of being unfair to me, I had fought God for taking my Diego again so I could not believe that Diego was the one standing in front of me.
I ran into his arms with tears in my eyes, I never thought I would ever see him again but thank goodness fate is being kind to me by bringing my Diego back. He hugged me tightly, he hugged me like I am the breath in his lungs, I have so many questions, many things I want to know but for now I just leaned into his hug, enjoying the comfort that it brings.
“Diego!! I missed you so much.” I heard Ava said from behind me, without another word she ran into his arms, he carried her, at that moment I wished more than anything that Ava is Diego’s child. The subject of her paternity is a little bit confusing, I conceived her at the time of the brutal love triangle between Damian, Diego and I. It was the time after Diego returned from the ranch, I loved Diego, I have always loved him but I also felt indebted to Damian, Diego’s twin.
That love triangle was what caused the sequence of grief that followed five years ago.
“Where did you go Diego.” Ava asked in her usually childish voice.
“I had to go away for a while.” Diego answered as he balanced her on his neck.
“I’m sorry for not telling you before leaving.” He added.
“It’s alright I’m just glad you are back.” She said with a huge smile on her face. I smiled, we were still enjoying the calm beautiful family moment when noises of gun shot started to fill the air, the noise grew louder and louder, panicked filled everywhere.
“Diego come out here or your dear Juliana and everyone else in this house dies!” Someone yelled from outside, I looked out from the window opposite me and my blood turned to ice in my veins, chills ran down my spine, memories of untold horror came flooding my head, I felt light headed like I would faint from the fear and terror that has enveloped me.
Raphael Fernandez, the one person I hoped never to see ever in my life. I couldn’t stop staring at him, couldn’t stop reliving the horror of his abuse, I froze dead in my track.
“Show yourself Diego or else everyone here dies!” Raphael Fernandez yelled, he had with him a lot of people, all armed with guns.
“Quick Poliodori take Ava and Valentina, pass through the underground dungeon, take them to the private island, make sure they are safe!” Diego said to the man standing next to me.
“If you have ever felt any loyalty for me Poliodori do this, they are all I have.” Diego said. The man nodded.
“I am leaving here without you.” I said, I can’t leave him, I would rather die fighting along side my Diego than return to his corpse. I will rather die in his arms than live without him.
“I can’t lose you again Diego. Please take Ava, I’m staring here with Diego.” I said.
“Valentina do not make this harder than it has to be, I will not forgive myself if you die! With everything that I now know you have gone through because of me, I cannot let another tragedy befall you, now go, I will see you soon mi Amor.” Diego said but I would not be assuaged I am staying here with him, I am going to fight along side him to the very end.
Seeing that I did not want to leave his side, Diego ordered Poliodori to take me away from the place by force.
“Put me down! Put me down!” I yelled over Poliodori’s shoulder, he carried me over his shoulder and Ava walked out willingly but the sadness in her face was undeniable. Sydney was taken from the room as we all headed for the underground dungeon, our escape was complete when we got into the car.
Grieve struck me painfully when I thought about the fact that that might be the last time I would ever see Diego again. He is outnumbered, hundreds of Raphael’s goons are faced against Diego and just three of his loyal people, I just hope he somehow comes out of this alive…
YARA’S POINT OF VIEW
Like a mad man Raphael hurried into my room this morning, he started throwing things into a suitcase without even folding them or calming down, I watched him in shock as he raked through my closet and threw anything his laid his hand on in to the suitcase.
“The car is ready, you have to leave now Yara.” He said as he lifted my suitcase and handed it to the guard close to me.
“Take her to my private island in the Bahamas and if anything happens to her there I will not only end your life but also that of your family.” He said. The guard nodded.
“Raphael what’s going on!” I asked terrified. He said nothing to me but just walked away. I was literally dragged into the car then the jet and now I am in this island.
VALENTINA’S POINT OF VIEW
Poliodori stepped out of the car to take a call and then he turned the car around, instead of heading to the runway for us to get into the jet and head for the island we were headed back to the mansion, back to Diego’s mansion were a literal war is going on.
“Did Diego send for us?” I asked a little bit confused by Poliodori taking us back to the mansion. Poliodori ignored me and continued driving. Maybe Diego somehow realize that I should be there by his side? I looked at Ava and Sydney.
“I think you should take them both to the island” I said, I don’t mind putting my life on the line for Diego but I cannot bear the thought of Ava and Sydney being in danger. Poliodori completely ignored my request and instead continued driving to the mansion.
“Did Diego send for us?” I asked again now utterly confused.
“My loyalty belongs to Raphael Fernandez not Diego and my master want you allthere in the mansion next to your captive lover.” He said and then turned to me.
“He has special plans for you Valentina.” Poliodori said with a creepy snide smile on his face…
